Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

@hollieberrie I had really bad shakes and tremors yesterday in my whole body- couldn’t even hold a cup of tea. Was so vile- took codeine in the end and it calmed me! Hoping that was the worst of it!

What are your ongoing symptoms? Glad you spoke to GP - I think part of the issue for many of us has been the disruption to normal medical care access!

pinkoneblueone · 01/04/2020 05:46

I'm asthmatic but a non smoker. I am not sure what it is. My hubby and kids fell ill around the same time and are sleeping fine. My chest feels tight I have just taken my blue inhaler and it's not really helped for now. I am at a loss as to what I can do. I feel a bit windy this evening have tried eating to help but it hasn't as a result I'm having another panic attack as my mind is questioning how bad is this going to get.

pinkoneblueone · 01/04/2020 05:47

I was putting the tremors down to my panic attacks.

Andromeida59 · 01/04/2020 05:51

I'm not sure whether to go back to my GP about my symptoms. My blood oxygen level is also.at 94% which apparently is indicative of infection.

My Tramodol doesn't even touch the sides.

AnythingPecan · 01/04/2020 05:57

@pinkoneblueone try not to panic and tell yourself you can get through this. I think this illness gets much easier to deal with if you can try to stay calm. Take care x

pinkoneblueone · 01/04/2020 06:03

I am trying I am having the most terrible shakes at the moment however I am not sure what else I can do. My peak flow is fine. Our sats monitor is due to arrive on Saturday. We haven't had a temperature yet at all so I am trying to use that as one of my positives. I have just googled how long does this last and read it was up to 24 days, if I read it correctly. I need to stay away from the facts that have been cropping up online. That's what has set me off again. A friends dad has been hospital with the virus since Friday and was making progress. I am trying to remember all the positives. It's not easy at this hour. I haven't had an ounce of sleep yet either which probably doesn't help

tangledyarn · 01/04/2020 06:25

@hollieberrie I'm the same..well I'm actually into week 4 I think and yesterday was awful, just felt like I had the worst flu of my life after a couple of better out of bed for a little bit days. It does seem to be a very long illness for some people..maybe if you are more vulnerable the virus is harder to shift and keeps going for longer? I dont know but feel like I've done my time now!

EMichel102 · 01/04/2020 06:44

Morning everyone, day 16 here now. Not a great nights sleep but not the worst I’ve had with this. In addition to general tremors do people get single twitches or muscle convulses? I’m freaking out that i have some weird case where the virus is attacking my nervous system more. Also have the strong heart beat / palpitations a lot. I don’t typically ever have anxiety normally. Thank you for any reassurance!

EMichel102 · 01/04/2020 06:47

Oh and I’m highly sensitive to noises too at the moment weirdly so

tangledyarn · 01/04/2020 06:51

@emichel102 Yeah I feel v much like that. Like my nervous system is very active in a not helpful way! X

EMichel102 · 01/04/2020 06:54

@tangledyarn it makes me feel so jumpy constantly and even now I’m tremoring for no reason at all!

pinkoneblueone · 01/04/2020 06:56

My arms and legs go out of control. As they currently are. I am really struggling today. Read the most unhelpful story in the sun. Why did I do it? I just wanted to know when I would be better. I am not sure if I should call 111 again I feel like such a time water but I am scared and my chest feels odd again.

Lovelesslily · 01/04/2020 06:57

@EMichel102 Yes I have been getting the twitches and convulses :( It is really horrible.

Good morning all. Only managed 2 hours fitful sleep amid the shakes and fun new symptom for today is my joints creaking when I move. Waiting for 8am to call my GP to check about the antibiotics.

tangledyarn · 01/04/2020 06:58

@emichel102 Yeah its horrible. I've tot this really strong internal shaking like a vibration, am assuming it's my immune system fighting the virus and keep telling myself that.

tangledyarn · 01/04/2020 07:01

@pinkoneblueone Yeah my chest still feels horrible, very heavy and burny, am still a bit breathless atlhough that is better than 10 days ago. Basically I think unless you cant breathe and your O2 is v low there is nothing they can do as oxygen is the treatment you get in hospital, but obviously ring if you feel you need to xx

pinkoneblueone · 01/04/2020 07:04

Thank you @tangledyarn. You have reassured me slightly my shakes are driving me insane. It's been hours. My tummy is filled with so much air too. I feel hot but my temperature is only 36.8, heart rate 92 which is high as I am in bed.

tangledyarn · 01/04/2020 07:08

@pinkoneblueone I know its really awful, I've had a dreadful 24hrs, can you distract yourself at all? Doesnt get rid of symptoms but helps me cope..I managed to watch bakeoff in bed last night which helped a bit xx

pinkoneblueone · 01/04/2020 07:13

Nothing has helped much if I'm honest. I am now so tired as I haven't slept.

tangledyarn · 01/04/2020 07:27

@pinkoneblueone Yeah am with you..its horrible..try and rest as much as you can and drink. I'm on project eat some food, have had no appetite at all for 3 weeks and it's a real struggle to eat anything but i need to do better today..my partner is losing his patience with it.

NordSjoen · 01/04/2020 07:29

Oh wow. It’s not just me having symptoms almost four weeks on. Mine are gastric (have been since the 2nd weekend), crippling fatigue and the bastard cough with constant post-nasal drip (almost like hay fever). I’m actually feeling like today - day 26 - I might have enough energy to stay out of bed all day but we shall see when I get in from work.

Very bad sleep last night, but oddly feel like the gravity blanket has been lifted.

Had two days off work (four days in bed as was over a weekend) with delirious and spiky fever three weeks ago and two weeks ago went into SI as DS developed the cough. He had some gastric symptoms too and has been quite happy resting at home for 14 days which is unusual in a ten year old boy. But hopefully he is well in himself as I have to go back to work today (SEN teacher).

Sending back slaps (DS v happy to administer these when the coughing jags were at their peak), vicks rubs, cold eye packs and sleep to all the fellow untested....

TheWooisStrong · 01/04/2020 07:29

Urgh, woken up feeling rough again. Sore throat, headache, bit of a cough, aches and pains.
Unsure if it’s still CV or another cold, I had to go to the supermarket for supplies on Monday and we’ve been out for a couple of short walks since then too.
DH woke me hacking and coughing in bed next to me. So gross. I swear we are going to end up divorced at the end of this.

TheWooisStrong · 01/04/2020 07:30

Day 22/23 ish. I’ve lost count.

stayathomegardener · 01/04/2020 07:35

@Cary2012 thanks for the reminder, I've forgotten how many days are you now and how are you feeling?

@tangledyarn that's tough on day 25. I'm finding I'm worn out by the sheer length of time this thing is going on for, even minor changes become debilitating.

@DandyPenguin thanks for the update, sorry it's not more positive but great your GP thinks you (we) are unlikely to relapse past day 13.

@Lovelesslily you did the right thing, I'm glad you were seen. Hopefully the antibiotics will do their job quickly.

@Andromeida59 you seem to fit in with everyone's symptoms very well, this is going to take time. Please don't think about doing anything like cleaning. Rest, rest and more rest.

@LaneBoy there are a few of us on here with cfs/me/fibromyalgia etc. In a way I think we have an advantage especially mentally. I know I'm well versed in pacing and controlled recovery. I can't imagine how difficult that aspect must be for those on this thread that were up running 5k until recently.

@hopsalong fingers crossed that continues, I'm nervous about adding in any immune boosters in case I go the other way and overreact.

@pinkoneblueone the advice is to embrace any temperatures if you can as it's the body's natural way of healing infections with heat.

KatySun · 01/04/2020 07:42

Hello, thank you for all posting although I am so sorry that you are struggling. I am on day 12 now I think and my biggest worry is the chest pain which feels like a heart attack (it can last several hours and then subside for several hours). Chest is also very tight and my upper back is sore. I am so fatigued as well.

The posts on here (while I wish none of you were suffering) are helpful to realise this virus is a long haul in recovery. The government advice of seven days seems so wide of the mark (I filled in the self-isolation note from the NHS website and it gives seven days even if you tick the symptoms of coronavirus box. So even if you self-certify for five and then add seven, this only gives 12 days. This is not a 12 day illness).

My DD has it as well so I understand all the worries about children; it lasted about five days, she had two days of being more okay but still easily fatigued and then last night she was very unwell again and the chest pain had resurfaced. She has managed to sleep through the night so I am hoping that will have helped.

Flowers and good wishes to you all for your recovery.

stayathomegardener · 01/04/2020 07:43

Sorry @pinkoneblueone I confused you with another poster re temperatures. Your symptoms sound very similar to @TheDrsWife46 who has really struggled with that aspect Thanks
