Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

Signing in. Didn’t realise this was a general support thread - great stuff!

I’m on day 14 of what I think may have been it - certainly like nothing my kids and I have had before.

Managed to walk for a few minutes today but I’m shattered again. Chest feeling a little tight and painful but breathing fine.

I have fibromyalgia, PoTS and ME and it’s hard to tell where the virus ends/ended and where a flare up begins!

Andromeida59 · 01/04/2020 00:14

@Needsomegoodnews thank you. I have been drinking plenty of fluids but I'm just gobsmacked at how bad I feel. I'd say I'm tired but it doesn't even begin to describe it. Thing is that I can't really sleep. I can only sleep for a few hours at a time. I've also been really hungry which is odd as for about five months I've hardly eaten.

Lovelesslily · 01/04/2020 00:20

@SchrodingersKitty thank you, I've got a hot water bottle and a fan going as also had a temp! Think temp has gone now. Shaking slightly subsiding but left feeling very nauseous. I'm concerned also as the antibiotics prescribed lists a possible serious side effect - lung problems ... symptoms being breathlessness, chills and fever! So how would I know if I developed this side effect when I already have these symptoms!?

@Andromeida59 so sorry you are struggling, keep fighting! I need to take my own advice on that right now...

Casino218 · 01/04/2020 03:03

Day 23 just. Took Brufen last night for chest pain and I think it helped a little. Woken with a headache but to be honest I have done many mornings. Don't think I have a temp. Let's hope I have a good day. Had a good afternoon and evening yesterday and even baked a banana and walnut loaf with my daughter.

Sorry to see all the posts since I've been asleep of newly scared people and those worrying for their children. Remember press don't report good news. Personally I would turn it off right now. Years ago I nursed children and what has always struck me is just how quickly they bounce back - from operations, from illnesses. Their coping mechanisms and immune systems are fantastic.@pinkoneblueone

Thank you so much for responding. I have been having mild panic attacks which seem to peaking atm and messing with my breathing. I hope you feel better soon I am just creeping in to day 22. Currently my breathing feels iffy and sore and I am wondering if it's my steroid inhaler that is causing it as I was fine until I took it and have completely reduced it down to the prescribed minimum and had been fine until now. This is probably my anxiety talking.

Casino218 · 01/04/2020 03:21

@pinkoneblueone that probably won't be your steroid inhaler. It has a very local effect. They recommend you keep taking it if asthmatic and get CV. I was reading the asthma guidelines for Covid. Can you pop on a podcast or some calm music? Anything to try to relax you?

I have just finished watching gogglebox which usually does it. I had too good a sleep last night 9 hrs. I have been lucky to get 5hrs lately. Every few days I am getting panic attacks. It's awful. We'll get there. I have been following the asthma UK emails I get. This will settle down In a while I'm going to go make myself some hot honey and lemon and put the telly back on.

pinkoneblueone · 01/04/2020 03:27

Baking/ cooking usually helps me so I think I will get on to that tomorrow with the kids to keep us busy.

Casino218 · 01/04/2020 03:37

Good stuff @pinkoneblueone enjoy. X

Andromeida59 · 01/04/2020 04:18

Anyone else still awake? My temperature is stupidly high. DP has meetings online all day tomorrow so I'm on the sofa watching Ugly Betty.

hollieberrie · 01/04/2020 04:24

I am! Feeling rough too. UGH. How long have you had it?

pinkoneblueone · 01/04/2020 04:33

I'm still awake, currently watching come dine with me. Hoping to get sleep soon as hubby has an appointment at 10am so I will need to go downstairs to nap.

When can you next take paracetamol to bring your temperature down?

pinkoneblueone · 01/04/2020 04:35

Just smeared some vic vaporised I'm in hope that it helps me settle.

Andromeida59 · 01/04/2020 04:36

I started with symptoms nearly three weeks ago. It seemed to get better but I developed really bad symptoms a week ago. I can have paracetamol soon. Just waiting for DP to get up so I can go back to bed.
Sorry to hear that you're both unwell.

hollieberrie · 01/04/2020 04:41

I'm on my third week too and also thought I was nearly better until yesterday when i came down with proper flu like symptoms.

Have you had a whole week of feeling terrible @Andromeida59?? i can't face a week or more of this Confused

Pink, how do.you feel?

littleblackdress04 · 01/04/2020 04:57

I’m awake too - had the worst day yesterday & hoping today will be bettter. Watching Disney cartoons as it’s about all I can mentally deal with at the moment. Also on the Vicks vaporub xx

hollieberrie · 01/04/2020 05:08

@littleblackdress04 what day are you on? Hope you feel better soon.

I'm feeling really nauseous at the moment. Just emailing in sick to work.

littleblackdress04 · 01/04/2020 05:17

@hollieberrie I’m now into day 8 according to doc (I actually thought I was on day 12 as counted my early weird symptoms) - yesterday was truly awful & the most ill I have ever felt in my life!!

Hope you are ok- just read that you are into your 3rd week bless you xx

pinkoneblueone · 01/04/2020 05:23

I definitely feel like my lungs aren't right and it's keeping me awake

pinkoneblueone · 01/04/2020 05:29

Third week sucks.

Joeaj23 · 01/04/2020 05:29

Are others having the problem of falling asleep and their body waking them up due to lack of oxygen? That’s what it feels like to me

hollieberrie · 01/04/2020 05:31

I just spoke the out of hours GP and she was very nice and reassuring saying some people are taking weeks to get over it and to call 111 if I develop any real breathing difficulties.

@littleblackdress04 oh maybe I've been counting the days wrongly too, it's around 3 weeks since my first symptoms. You poor thing, what kind of things are you feeling?

Hope you can get some sleep Pink.

Ugh this is awful.

AnythingPecan · 01/04/2020 05:33

How are asthmatic smokers dealing with this? Really worried how hubby will cope if he gets this...

Andromeida59 · 01/04/2020 05:34

@hollieberrie I do have fibromyalgia as well so it might be contributing to my general feeling. I have tried Vicks but because my sense of smell has gone haywire. The Vicks smelt like bacon. A coffee and walnut cake smelt like cigarettes.
