@Ipadipod: What day are you on? It's really hard to say if you'll get worse. There are quite a lot of us still hanging around here with the new-ending parade of symptoms at the three week mark, but there are loads of others who left the threads at a much earlier stage, presumably recovered.
@Zobozal: there's been lots of advice reported on these threads from other people's consultations with doctors. I was told that if I could finish a sentence I was breathing ok to manage at home. Someone else was told that you should try counting very fast to thirty. If you can make it with only one break for breath, that's good going.
In terms of remedies, I don't know what you've tried, but these helped me:
Sleeping propped up on lots of pillows; alternatively, sleeping flat on my front.
Hot drinks for the comfort and the steam;
Hot showers, ditto.
Some people have found saunas or steaming their faces in a towel tent over a bowl of boiling water - careful of burns - very helpful.
I have a hot water bottle permanently wedged behind my back at lung level.
Rubbing your back and chest with Vicks might help.
But if you can get to talk to a doctor you will probably find it reassuring. If things get very bad, a number of people have had paramedics come out to assess them. I don't think they are taking many people in to a & e. It is definitely manageable at home for most of us, though it is hard at times.
