Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

@TheDrsWife46 that’s been me today but the contrast from yesterday is huge - i cleaned my house yesterday 🙈

My 8 year old DD is now coughing and feeling unwell which is freaking me out totally aswell

Casino218 · 31/03/2020 19:55

@alittleprivacy from what I can gather this virus attacks nerves. It may be it is that rather than cardiac as such. As you say pulse rate is not changing which with palpitations you would expect it to be irregular and fast ( 110 plus)

Can I join the party?

Day 8 here, been through earache, raw throat, headache, freezing body, burning face, sickness (for one day), kidney pain and the most godawful cough ever. Chest is wheezy but not painful. Not sure if this is Corona or not but can’t sleep for more than a couple of hours a night. I don’t think my body can take one more night of coughing, I really don’t.

Have been reading through your posts and although it sucks you’re all so poorly it does help to know there is friendly support around.

Casino218 · 31/03/2020 20:01

@Callmesausage hi sorry you're feeling rough. It's very up and down this bloody virus. Do you have any underlying conditions like asthma?

user34254356 · 31/03/2020 20:01

@alittleprivacy me too! awful palpitations and racy heart beat. It's very difficult to ignore when at night alone with your thoughts. I was told this is simply a sign of infection too and rest, rest, rest.

I keep getting stressed that it may be a heart attack!

tanyauk · 31/03/2020 20:03

Cold feet, yes! I put mine in tub with hot water and sit for 20 min. It helps for few hours, then they get cold, I repeat.

NerosFiddle · 31/03/2020 20:03

@stayathomegardener woohoo!

For those of you that paid for a test. Where did you get it? The only one I could find was £250 and I can't afford that.
I know boots are setting up stations at the minute and charging "a nominal cost". But hopefully I'll be over the worst of it by that stage. 🤞

I'm on day 11 I think. Still a tightness in chest and I've started to cough now. I struggle to take a deep breath but I know that I'm still breathing ok as I can talk in a complete sentence when at rest. I've bought a sats monitor and it should be here between tomorrow and Friday.

Lovelesslily · 31/03/2020 20:03

@stayathomegardener Why do you say that? I don't think 111 will do anything even if it is kidney infection, if I can even get though? And wouldn't be able to get antibiotics to start until tomorrow anyway.
I'm scared, shaking has started again :(

Needsomegoodnews · 31/03/2020 20:04

Evening all - good to read about progress or at least stable symptoms from most. Today (day 15 from fever onset) I had enough energy to get up and play with the kids/help with schoolwork until early afternoon - at which point I had to crash and temp came up and head and eyes felt all pressured - weird! Breathing feels better though, just occasional stabbing chest pains. Anyone else still feeling it in head and eyes as it clears?

Wacadu · 31/03/2020 20:06

I'm on day 7 and woke up feeling much better this morning. Then this evening I feel like I've gone back 10 steps. Absolutely shattered, tight chest with pain. I thought I was on the road to recovery.

NerosFiddle · 31/03/2020 20:11

@alittleprivacy my heart rate was up in 190+ yesterday. I think I was having a panic attack but I thought it was a heart attack. I phoned my gp and it calmed down after that. Pulse is still always over 100 but I can function knowing that it's just the body trying to fight the virus. A bit like why we have a temp.

TheDrsWife46 · 31/03/2020 20:13

@littleblackdress04 my 8yr old has started coughing. My 11yr old was better now the little one has started its like a knife in my heart.

Callmesausage · 31/03/2020 20:14

@Casino218
no, nothing underlying thank goodness, just middle aged and overweight! Chest feels tight this evening too.

SchrodingersKitty · 31/03/2020 20:15

I'm sure a lot of you have seen this, but it really cheered me up. the video is half way down the article: www.standard.co.uk/go/london/theatre/viral-video-family-singing-les-miserables-lockdown-a4402741.html

findingschools4myboys · 31/03/2020 20:18

@Needsomegoodnews
I have struggled with head pressure, earns blocked and eyes also feel pressured and heavy and light sensitive at times. My head pressured caused me to have vertigo for over a week!

SchrodingersKitty · 31/03/2020 20:18

@Needsomegoodnews: head and eye pressure sounds like sinuses which I, and a number of people on the previous thread, got around the same time (I think mine way day 11). I remember someone - @Casino218? - saying it was a post-viral thing.

EMichel102 · 31/03/2020 20:19

@Needsomegoodnews day 15 and also feel pressure in the head and eyes at times (Esp when tired) and can be dizzy / light headed at times. I now think I’ve experienced most symptoms for a period of time throughout this damn virus on and off!

alittleprivacy · 31/03/2020 20:20

As you say pulse rate is not changing which with palpitations you would expect it to be irregular and fast ( 110 plus)

Well it was up to 177 at it's peak. Just random spikes of high pulse rate throughout the day from about 160-177. Though a nice low average even with spikes.

SchrodingersKitty · 31/03/2020 20:22

@DandyPenguin: you've been missing in action for a while - hope you are feeling better?

mymoonmyman2020 · 31/03/2020 20:23

@Wacadu I also had a setback day 7 (after feeling better day 6).

I heard anecdotally that day 7 can be a kind of peak/worsening. Also a doctor friend told me lots of people feel better day 6/7 and then worse again... if this helps!

I am now day 9 and most symptoms settled except total, wipe out exhaustion. Someone I know is day 13 and feeling better which is giving me hope, but I know from this board it can take 3/4 weeks to feel normal again. Have my fingers crossed for 2 weeks ish - my kids are starting to think I’ll be in bed forever :(

littleblackdress04 · 31/03/2020 20:24

@TheDrsWife46 has your 11 year old had it? My 12 year old has asthma so can relate to the knife thru the heart 😩

Lovelesslily · 31/03/2020 20:24

Waiting for 111 out of hours doctor call back... pain in lower back/kidney very bad and burning in stomach ... shaking wont stop. Scared :(

littleblackdress04 · 31/03/2020 20:26

@mymoonmyman2020 that’s interesting you had a relapse on day 7 after feeling better on day 6 - I was so well yesterday, I thought it had gone! Am hoping it’s my peak horror

Spacecadetagain · 31/03/2020 20:28

The thread has moved quickly today !
@stayathomegardener Muriel is an absolute inspiration.. what an incredible lady !

My teen DS was spooked I think by paramedics being here last night and had cleaned downstairs and cooked tea for us all.. I’m in shock .. it’s meant Ive been able to rest today though .. chest still painful with any movement and grating sensation there . Temp lurking around 37.6 . The ridiculously hot feet though are sweating so much the dcs are complaining about my smelly feet .

oncemorewithfeeling99 · 31/03/2020 20:30

I had bad sinus pain days 5-8. I’m still very snotty.
I find it strange that runny nose etc is still be touted as a very rare symptom when it seems so common.
