Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

@stayathomegardener this is an excellent question! Very keen to know what they say. Also out of interest what is the Dr M regime? :)

I have seen info on ‘phase one’ that ends in seven days, followed by a severe phase two for the minority. But nothing really on residual symptoms...

stayathomegardener · 31/03/2020 15:35

@Porcupineinwaiting it's so difficult to know when to start counting from.

My days 1-5 I was feeling odd but still dashing round doing stuff.

I guess I was over the acute bits by day 12ish but then I go backwards again every time I do anything still at day 20.

Crazydiamond106 · 31/03/2020 15:36

@stayathomegardener thanks id read that so far no fatalities for children 0-9 but still very scary with a tiny baby. Also nackering enough when waking every 2 hrs in the night to not have CV or a nasty bug, but at least have husband to help if needed!

ofwarren · 31/03/2020 15:37

My chest and back burns so much today.
Oxygen is 100% and heart rate is high, but I think it's because I'm anxious about the burn.
I'm devastated I've probably got at least another week of this 😭
Poor kids have already been watching TV and playing on laptops for a whole week.

Knowhowufeel2 · 31/03/2020 15:40

My cough is pretty mild (less often) today, more painful though.

My temp was up to 38.1°C overnight and this morning, but atm it's now normal-ish. The chest pain/pressure is the worst thing today and I'm absolutely exhausted. Hurts when I breathe a bit too.

I'm wondering if I maybe don't have it as I thought the cough would be worse than it's been today??

stayathomegardener · 31/03/2020 15:41

@mymoonmyman2020
Dr Sarah Myhill. She helped my DD and I recover from CFS.

I can't do links but this is worth a watch.

SchrodingersKitty · 31/03/2020 15:41

@Porcupine in waiting - see my symptoms chart a few pages back. I got worse day 8, then worst day - when I called doctors - was day 14. Then I rested a lot as was exhausted, and got gradually better but with blip of severe chills on day 17. Now day 21 and up for a few days, intermittently working, with cough and weakness the worst of it.

ofwarren · 31/03/2020 15:41

The cough comes and goes for me. I have days of no coughing, then it comes back

user34254356 · 31/03/2020 16:00

@stayathomegardener pls do post the response when you get it. Same situation here: Day 14 here. Yesterday i managed to do some bits around the house but this morning equivalent activity has caused my chest pains and palpitations / racy heart beat to return and its only now slightly settling after 2 hours of rest and still not normalised.

I will call my GP again tomorrow for reassurance. I am impressed that some GPs here are doing video calls. Ours is only a telephone service.

TheWooisStrong · 31/03/2020 16:00

Went out for a walk round the block. Felt loads better for som fresh air and sunshine, and although I’m now back on the sofa I don’t think I’m anywhere near as bad as I’ve been.
Very fed up of being ill though.

user34254356 · 31/03/2020 16:01

@ofwarren same here, kids been in youtube continuously and I don't see any time in the near future that I will be back to my old self. The chest pains make me anxious and I spring back to bed.

Anyone who has got rid of the chest pains and by what day was it?

ofwarren · 31/03/2020 16:04

I'd like to know the answer to that too @user34254356
I can deal with the other symptoms but im scared of the chest pain and breathlessness. Been stuck in a room with my 4 year old for 8 days now. He's so good thankfully, but I feel so mean. His brother lives here too and is in the shield group so we have to be separate.

Spacecadetagain · 31/03/2020 16:13

@EMichel102 yes I think it’s a normal response to an ongoing viral infection.. My temperature has been up and down now for two weeks

user34254356 · 31/03/2020 16:15

@Tangledyarn sorry you are feeling poorly again. Do you have new symptoms?

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 31/03/2020 16:23

I was on here a week back with cough and some pain but then it all petered out.
Now back again on day 2 with a fever of 101.
Feeling feverish and chest burns but otherwise ok.
Am on paracetamol and need to keep my liquid up.

maudspellbody · 31/03/2020 16:29

Mango! I'm sorry. That sounds horrendous. Awful that it's back again.

I've just dropped in to say URGH. What the hell is this nasty mouth taste? It's like something has died in my throat.

I have worse symptoms and I'm running a fever, have heart palpitations and pain - but this horrible taste is driving me crazy. Has anyone found anything that makes it better?

tangledyarn · 31/03/2020 16:29

@user Nothing new no, just feel much worse than I have again for the last few days, very breathless, lots of chest burning and pain, really sore throat, fast pulse and mostly just very weak and shaky and fatigued again so havent felt able to get out if bed. Think I had a temperature in the night again. Its getting a bit ridiculous now after 25+ days.

NowSissyThatWalk · 31/03/2020 16:35

Hi all, hope it's okay for me to jump on board.
I'm worried. I'm a key worker - police officer, but a specialist role so have the option to work from home. I've been feeling 'off' for about two weeks now.
DSS had pnemonia around 3 weeks ago. Raging temperature, sweating, coughing, I wasn't happy so called 111 and told to take him to A and E. Was put on oxygen straight away and antibiotics. Wasn't tested. Is now fine.
Since about two weeks ago I've been feeling pretty lousy. We have DH's kids here, including SS who had the pnemonia.

Everything aches. Like it's within my bones itself. Just had such a bad coughing fit in the kitchen that i threw up in the sink. Was phlegmy before this and coughing things up (sorry) but now it's very very dry. Fever coming and going. I couldn't get through one verse of a nursery rhyme with SS without running out of breath. Can't go upstairs without panting. Stabbing chest pain on and off, like a knife through my chest. My voice also sounds weird, kind of raspy.

I'm due back in work tomorrow, in the office.

Can anyone help? Does anyone have any ideas? Normally I get annoyed when I'm ill but feel too shitty for that.

alittleprivacy · 31/03/2020 16:35

Hi everyone. I posted on one of these earlier thread at the start of experiencing symptoms but don't think I have again since. I'm on day 14 of breathing difficulties and chest&upper back pain. I had a vicious sore throat, mild fluey symptoms and no appetite for the first 5 days or so. I've had a couple of temperature spikes up to 38.1 but mostly a normal temperature. My main symptom has been shortness of breath that gets worse when I move around/have a conversation, tingly airways and sore painful lungs. And serious fatigue. I'm definitely getting better but it's a real 2 steps forward 1 step back process. I felt about 95% back to normal yesterday, did a bit of housework and breathing was a lot harder by evening and my lungs constantly ache today.

However, as I get better I'm just so, fucking angry about how badly this is all being handled. I'm so angry and feeling let down by the lack of testing. By the lack of knowledge about what's wrong with me. I known the odds are that I have Covid 19 and am likely to recover completely in time. But I don't know that for sure. Maybe I actually have something else and being forced to ignore what's wrong with me will have other negative consequences. I also feel quite a lot like I'm some sort of sensationalist hypochondriac with delusions of my own importance. I know for sure that's what some people I know would think about me if they knew I thought I have Covid. I'm just feeling really angry and pissed off and every fucking time I see another celebrity announcing their positive diagnosis I just feel really fucking, fucked off about what a fucking two tier system it is.

NowSissyThatWalk · 31/03/2020 16:42

I totally agree @alittleprivacy

Porcupineinwaiting · 31/03/2020 16:50

@alittleprivacy spooky, you've just encapsulated my own feelings today.

Andromeida59 · 31/03/2020 16:51

What is with the loss of smell? I was feeling slightly better today so tried to make a walnut and coffee loaf. I was paranoid because to me it smelt like cigarettes. Food and everything smells off.
Just want to get better from this.

tangledyarn · 31/03/2020 16:56

@nowsissythatwalk It definitely sounds like it could be covid19. You need to start isolating unfortunately:( Its hard with your family, I believe we are most infectious pre symptoms but if you can spend most of your time in a separate room it will help to reduce viral load.

Casino218 · 31/03/2020 16:57

@nowsissy I think you sound like you have the CV symptoms but as it has been said many times. Without testing. Who knows. Try your GP if you get a bounce back try the receptionist. If not call 111. Have you got access to a pulse oximeter? Some people used phone apps but don't know if they are that reliable. What colour is phlegm?

Casino218 · 31/03/2020 17:01

Day 22 for me and it's 5pm and I've just done some baking with my daughter and my temperature has stayed down. I'm still bloody tired but this is a first.

@alittleprivacy I really get you. It feels like they have over simplified this whole symptom thing to the point that they have left a whole load of people feeling stranded with bloody awful symptoms whilst they and their celebrity friends are all getting tested at a drop of a hat!
