Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

In case anyone was wondering about why you sometimes feel a strong pulse or it feels “louder”, it could be because of the low grade fever. Just learned that and gives me reassurance / comfort!

Casino218 · 31/03/2020 14:23

@SchrodingersKitty would it be worth calling your GP?

Day 21. Chest pain is back as is the breathlessness which wasn't too bad yesterday. I feel ok apart from all the congestion that's causing the discomfort. Temperatures are normal through our house through my husband has had a low temperature at 36.4 for the last few days.

Spacecadetagain · 31/03/2020 14:30

Well after waking up and not feeling too horrific.. my chest pains are back .. graty and mild temperature again . Day 19 .. sigh

Casino218 · 31/03/2020 14:33

@pinkoneblueone 36.4 is a normal temperature x

@SchrodingersKitty whatever you have fits exactly with most on this thread.

No matter if it's CV or not I would not expose yourselves to anything else right now unless totally unavoidable.

Appreciate your DH May not be able to defer his treatment though. Rock and hard place.

stayathomegardener · 31/03/2020 14:44

@ofwarren difficult.

I would probably go for the patches over vaping right now.

user34254356 · 31/03/2020 14:45

same here @spacecadetagain slight bit of exertion and feel elephant on my chest again.

I didn't quite understand the paramedics note to you as it stated that if there was chest pain you need to call them again. Was it chest pain with breathlessness or just chest pain - as if it's latter then all of us are probably suffering from it.

stayathomegardener · 31/03/2020 14:45

@jolufc assume it is to be on the safe side. Hopefully you will be a very mild case.

Spacecadetagain · 31/03/2020 14:50

@user34254356 I questioned that last night and it’s more f you feel it’s a heart attack pain .. he said they always have to put that when they are called out for breathlessness or chest pains or both even though they know it’s most likely caused by CV

SchrodingersKitty · 31/03/2020 14:51

@stayathomegardener @Casino218: I think DH now wants to get it over with as the situation in the hospital is only going to get worse and he does need to have this test in the next few weeks. I did suggest he try and speak to a doctor but I think he's going to wait for the team to call him to check on whether he has cv symptoms later today. I do see his point - cancer investigations have to carry on, and the consultant has already decided that he does need to be seen. The issue of what he actually has is very puzzling to everyone. We were about to press for him to be seen elsewhere at the point that this virus all started. I am clinging to the fact that he's had no symptoms since he started the course of steroids 7 months ago (he had a lot of illnesses after the steroids but has been fine for months). When he had lymphoma (non-Hodgkins, high grade B cell for those who know about these things) it came on very suddenly all over his body, and whatever he has now doesn't seem to be behaving at all like that. He got the lymphoma 'all clear' about a week before the memory episodes started - so frustrating.

Joeaj23 · 31/03/2020 14:52

Day 21 and suffering from very bad diarrhea, don’t know what to make of this coming in so late!

tangledyarn · 31/03/2020 14:56

The chest pain is the reason they say call 999 or want to send a paramedic out, it's just a red flag for cardiac issues. Better to say lung pain etc if you speak to 111/GP.

ShastaBeast · 31/03/2020 15:10

I think it’s day 20 and I’m definitely getting better. Cough is more manageable, no uncontrollable coughing fits at night, just fatigue and muscle aches, but I get aches anyway. Cough is a bit more productive and still wheezing and needing ventolin but not struggling to control my asthma.

Nipped out to the pharmacy and took tissues to cough into. Kids should be able to go to school this week - SN. They are coughing a teeny bit.

I really hope it’s CV and we are done. I’ve heard it can take several weeks for the lungs to fully recover so I won’t be out for a run for a while. I’ll start off sorting out the house and helping the kids.

It seems the illness lasts three weeks but the cough can last a while longer.

Porcupineinwaiting · 31/03/2020 15:18

@tangledyarn good tip. Just wasted a hour of paramedics time and am now waiting to speak to.a hp which is all I wanted in the first place.

Porcupineinwaiting · 31/03/2020 15:18

Gp

Crazydiamond106 · 31/03/2020 15:21

Hope everyone is doing ok and hopefully on the mend soon! I’ve started to feel unwell the last few days but not been certain if it’s just tiredness (I have a 9 wk old baby!). Today I feel extremely unwell but it could be another bug as I have no cough or fever yet..just fatigue, tight chest and out of breath much more easily, chills and nausea. Hoping it’s just a regular bug...I’m very anxious about my baby getting sick I wouldn’t care if it was just me...hopefully just run down and being paranoid!

user34254356 · 31/03/2020 15:24

@jojeaj23 i have diarrhoea too today, i had last on day 11 and now again in day 14. No idea either what to make of it. Hoping it's my system flushing out the toxins.

stayathomegardener · 31/03/2020 15:25

I've asked the following on my consultants Facebook page.

Just been "liked" by the moderators so hopefully get some feedback in 3-5 days 🤞

"Could I ask please about information relating to the recovery of CV patients that fell between the two extremes of had it briefly, recovered in a week and now have a spotless house to admitted to Hospital seriously ill.

I and many others seem to be around the three week mark, over the worst but if we try and do anything the fever/chest burning/ lung pains/breathlessness and palpitations return.

Obviously keeping up the full Dr M regime but would love to know if anything else could help beyond rest. Or any early research that could provide reassurance to the recovery pattern.

Grateful as ever ❤️"

Porcupineinwaiting · 31/03/2020 15:26

Could those who are into their third week tell me when it was that they started to turn the corner? I'm on day 13 and just seem to keep getting worse and worse. Sad

tangledyarn · 31/03/2020 15:28

@porcupineinwaiting Yeah they got quite shirty with me when I refused an ambulance..

tangledyarn · 31/03/2020 15:29

@user I've got diarrhoea again today after nothing for a week I think.

stayathomegardener · 31/03/2020 15:30

@Crazydiamond106 there has been much research carried out on Chinese mothers with CV and I'm sure i remember it stood out that all babies were fine. Something to do with their lack of developed immune system and this was going to be the basis of new research.

Try on concentrate on getting yourself well. Statistically you should both be fine.

Chimpd0g · 31/03/2020 15:34

Hi all, hope you’re all feeling better.
I can’t work out whether we have it or whether it’s something else or whether it’s all in my head!
I had 2 days last week of all day headaches, felt cold sometimes but no fever (slightly higher than usual - 37.4 was highest). Felt like I was getting a sore throat but never really emerged. Off and on for last few days I’ve sometimes had a tight chest and sometimes feel like I’m suppressing a cough. Haven’t actually coughed though.
Also felt really tired one day last week

DD was a bit flushed the other day. Temp 37.5 for 1 day. Coughed literally once this morning and complained of very slight sore throat yesterday.

Are we meant to self isolate?? Not been out anyway as it happens but if we needed to shop etc...?

EMichel102 · 31/03/2020 15:34

@Spacecadetagain I’m day 15 and have had a daily temperature between 37.3 and 37.6 and am on antibiotics just in case of infection but I don’t think I have one. The temperature thing must just be the body responding still post infection.
