Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

Cornish, surely the D&V would be reason enough to stay off for a couple of days? There is no evidence to say your list are all symptoms but plenty of anecdotal data to suggest they are - the issue of course being that because these people aren't getting tested, there's no way of knowing for sure.

Has your work place provided facilities for testing yet?

ofwarren · 31/03/2020 10:26

@littleblackdress04
Yes to everything being dry. I've ordered a humidifier

longshot · 31/03/2020 10:26

@mymoonmyman2020 i was similar in the night, awful night sweats and chest pain / tightness but OK today except the stabbing in chest pains which won't shift. What day are you on?

RachelH26 · 31/03/2020 10:36

Hi all, I haven't had a chance to read through the entire thread as yet, so my apologies if this is a repeat question.

I'm unsure whether I am showing symptoms of the virus, or whether it's something else?

I started with a frog in my throat feeling on Thursday, having to make a concerted effort to clear my throat at regular intervals. Following this, I developed some breathing issues whereby I can't take a deep breath (the only way I can describe is a breath that reaches the bottom of my lungs 🤷) this has been ongoing since Friday, so we are now day 6 days on. I have had no fever what so ever, temp has been 36.8 at its highest, an extremely sporadic cough but no other symptoms at all.

I am currently 21 weeks pregnant, so lost in minefield of whether it could be virus related, pregnancy related, or anxiety related seeing as this is sky high given the current situation.

Anyone had anything similar? Thanks in advance Smile

ofwarren · 31/03/2020 10:37

Day 8 for me
Yesterday was quite good. I hoped I was turning a corner but I woke at 2am with breathlessness. Oxygen was only down to 95 but you can certainly feel the dips.
I fell asleep again about 4:30, woke up again at about 8:30 when Asda knocked loudly on the door.
Fell back asleep till 10:30.

This morning my legs ache so much. I'm breathing better but I'm wiped out. Chills to the bone too.

Meercatmama · 31/03/2020 10:45

Morning everyone
Well it is the virus that keeps on giving. Over did it yesterday and then last night and this morning back comes some spikes in temperature, a headache and general tiredness. Going to take it more easy today. Husband now has the sore throat and some breathlessness but he is still eating. Keep going everyone we will get through this

littleblackdress04 · 31/03/2020 10:46

I’m assuming that as long as chest & breathing ok then that’s the most important many thing & that the rest is just the virus going? I don’t feel as ill anymore but just exhausted in my whole body
The relapse has made me worried but it doesn’t feel like a breathing relapse

Casino218 · 31/03/2020 10:53

Well I put some laundry in and made a shopping list and now the chest pain is back. Day 22 and I'm getting mighty fed up.

As someone who’s been suffering with nausea and gastric issues for 5 days now, this article was interesting: www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2020/03/25/opinion/coronavirus-uk.amp.html

Casino218 · 31/03/2020 10:59

@UncomfortableBadger she shouldn't have been roaming around with diarrhoea anyway. My DH started with diarrhoea he stayed off work then but we didn't know at the time it was CV. Until the chest problems started.

stayathomegardener · 31/03/2020 11:00

@cornishdreams1 I have never had a cough or an official temperature but still progressed to all the lung problems.

Personally I think you should self isolate.

onlinelinda · 31/03/2020 11:06

Thank you @stayathomegardener and @longshot. I'm keeping an eye on you both as well, plus lots of others. Has @findingschools4myboys been back at all too?
Distracted by teen drama here yesterday, just what you don't need when unwell.

notangelinajolie · 31/03/2020 11:09

Day 21 - 3 weeks into this thing. Feeling ok so far today.

@Spacecadetagain so pleased you have had the check up and reasurance you needed Flowers

@Casino218 my DH was also out in the garden for most of yesterday, painting the fence.

And I'm now joining the bad dream club. I had a particularly vivid one about a snake last night - it scared me so much I had to get up and check all the doors. In hindsight I think it was the cat who was stretched out at bottom of my bed.

So chuffed I found this thread. The support from others going through this with the same symptoms has been a godsend and I'm sure without that support my anxiety would have got the better of me.

Wishing everyone a good day.

EMichel102 · 31/03/2020 11:12

Do others experience “hypnic jerks”, those little muscle spasms in your face, Temple, neck, when your body is exhausted from this?

UncomfortableBadger · 31/03/2020 11:12

@Casino218 How she managed to go about her day to day business with vomiting and diarrhoea is beyond me! I’m floored by this.

How long did it take for the chest problems to develop for your husband? Did he ever get a cough or fever, or did he go straight to chest pains? How long has it taken for him to feel better in himself? Sending all well wishes

onlinelinda · 31/03/2020 11:14

@littleblackdress, I think you count from first symptoms.

findingschools4myboys · 31/03/2020 11:15

@onlinelinda
Hello!
Am day 20 today. Actually feeling worse today than yesterday. This breathless feeling has come back. Not as bad as it was at the height but I keep feeling the need to take deep breaths.
My oximeter tells me I am 97-99% so I know I am fine but am a bit annoyed this feeling has come back.

TheDrsWife46 · 31/03/2020 11:21

Hi everyone.

Im not sure why I’ve come on really. Glad to see people are moving along little by little. I slept again 6am-9am and now Im sat on the sofa. Chest pains are worse and I’ve started coughing up small amounts of fluid. This has genuinely put me into a real depression now. I think the lack of medical support, the relentless weakness and the isolation on top. I literally feel like an empty person just lying here breathing.

littleblackdress04 · 31/03/2020 11:26

@TheDrsWife46 hope you are ok- it’s relentless isn’t it and for most of us, we would have been to the doctors by now to get checked out. I have taken a dip again & hope it’s not a big one as felt relatively normal yesterday

Casino218 · 31/03/2020 11:27

@Uncomfortablebadger it took him about a week I would say before he had some chest discomfort and temperature. He never developed a cough.

OP posts:
stayathomegardener · 31/03/2020 11:32

Things I'm doing to try to reduce symptoms and help my chest:
Reducing sugars.
Mega dose vitamin c.

Inhaling iodine through a salt pipe.

Calendula tincture drops and turmeric for inflammation.

Drinking fresh chicken bone broth, disgusting but again reduces inflammation.

I can put a link (well a picture) up of my amazing ecological medical consultant talking about it on YouTube if anyone is interested.

pinkoneblueone · 31/03/2020 11:40

My daughter has had a cough today I can hear her breathing from and she is trying to clear her throat constantly I am not liking this at all

Casino218 · 31/03/2020 11:43

@pinkoneblueone no I can imagine but in a day or two I'm sure she will recover. Statistically she's not high risk.

OP posts:
UncomfortableBadger · 31/03/2020 11:46

Thank you so much @Casino218 - I’m 5/6 days in with no cough or temperature but chest pains, gastric issues and fatigue. Trying to work out the likely progression and what’s coming next Sad

stayathomegardener · 31/03/2020 11:46

@pinkoneblueone casino is right, many have CV very mildly.

Realistically I think most on this thread could only be classified as moderate symptoms.

You must be so worried though.
