Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

@cornishdreams1 I would assume it's CV and isolate to be honest. It may be you are early in the symptoms and the most infectious. I've never had a temp until day 21. My DH never had a cough. He started with diarrhoea!

@longshot can't find the ruddy article now. I've looked at so many.

It may be this one actually

Cornish - with those symptoms I would isolate. The exhaustion, sore eyes, bad mouth, headache are all symptoms.

cornishdreams1 · 31/03/2020 09:05

We are very very short staffed, so was hoping I could go!! I am feeling much better, but obviously really don't want to infect anyone that is very vulnerable.

How come you didn't have a temp until day 21?? What a long time for you to be ill - but then you read posts on here of people that are on day 26. That is nearly a month. Sending you all love and get well wishes.

So what were your dh's symptoms? And how do we know we have it (or not) for sure with no testing?

Some people on this thread are very ill, it is so good that you have a proper thread up and running to support them Flowers

Standrewsschool · 31/03/2020 09:06

Day 17 and my temperature is normal for the second day in a row! I almost cried when i took the measurement. Still coughing though.

Also, dh coughed this morning, and tried to explain it away that he had mis-swallowed his tea. Hopefully it’s nothing.

cornishdreams1 · 31/03/2020 09:08

The gov guidelines either need to be updated, or more information is needed regarding other symptoms.
As I am sure lots of people like me, with just a sore throat or stomach cramps/or sickness are continuing as normal, and could be spreading infection without knowing it.

EMichel102 · 31/03/2020 09:08

Day 15 here and finally had a nights sleep for the first time. Feel much better this am but still fatigued / drained. I’ll take that though compared to what I was feeling! Hopefully a good sign indeed.

TheWooisStrong · 31/03/2020 09:16

@mymoonmyman2020 I avoided paracetamol because I wanted to avoid anything that would lower my temperature/effect my immune response. Also as I wanted to make sure I was resting enough and not overdoing it.

Good luck everyone. I’m currently sat on the sofa watching DH do Joe Wicks workout with the children. Hilarious Grin

tupperwaretowers · 31/03/2020 09:16

@Spacecadetagain oh Im glad you got seen by someone. It’s very reassuring to hear that this is to be expected, a lengthy recovery. It just messes with your mind the feeling of helplessness and lack of knowledge. Each day we are one step closer to wellness. Wishing everyone positive thoughts. X

Needsomegoodnews · 31/03/2020 09:22

@EMichel102 same day and same for me! I slept for 9 hours solid last night (but yes still wiped out!). Glad to hear others showing some improvement in the post 2-week window too. My temp has stayed down (well no higher than 37.5) for the past 2 days as well. Chest tight but feel like I am getting more air in. The only concern is an increase in the stab type pains - does anyone find paracetamol helps with these?

inmylifeIlovedthemall · 31/03/2020 09:33

No deliberate ambiguity SchrodingersKitty it is a nod to my teenage hearthrobs. I am a real country girl and loathe any Mall. I almost have to be dragged kicking and screamimg to go anywhere near a shop.

All the postings here are terrifying me and leaving me in awe of how everyone is coping. I have vague symptoms coming and going, but have decided to make soup today for the freezer. I am hoping that although I will be alone if I am coming down with it I should be able to manage two minutes at the Microwave.

Stay strong you amazing bunch Flowers Flowers

KayakingOnDown · 31/03/2020 09:42

Day 15

Feel so much better, symptoms-wise. Breathing is easy and only the odd twinge of chest pain. But i am very, very tired.

Casino218 · 31/03/2020 09:43

@cornishdreams he started with diarrhoea. Blocked nose, headaches, tired, then chest pain, then temp, then more abdo upsets, then gradually up and down until more ups. Now he's driving me frickin crazy! So he's more like his old self.

casino I had flu in January too. I feel like my immune system is very low atm which is why I can't shake anything off. So I've started taking different vitamins and minerals including iron, zinc and vitamin D which are all associated with improved immune system.

I still don't know if I've got CV and can't be sure because I haven't had the fever as far as I know (I've only just found a thermometer 12 days in!) but the ongoing tight lung, fatigue and the intermittent dry cough would suggest that I have got it. Having diarrhoea last night did alarm me a bit. But I've had no breathlessness, so unless I get that, I think I just need to keep resting.

In some ways the feeling better for a while makes it worse because you then overdo it, thinking you're recovered!

EMichel102 · 31/03/2020 09:46

@KayakingOnDown totally - same for me and @Needsomegoodnews. Both day 15 and feeling better but completely wiped out / physically very weak / tired. Hard to walk around still too much without feeling faint.

EMichel102 · 31/03/2020 09:54

@Pinkocelot sounds like it’s CV to me for sure. Especially the fatigue and length of time.

littleblackdress04 · 31/03/2020 09:55

Hi everyone- I went off here as was feeling normal yesterday & might have overdone it and now back in bed feeling fluey again 😬
Has this happened to anyone?
My chest feels ok, temp normal, SATS ok (on phone app) but just feel exhausted & shaky - I went for a walk yesterday & cleaned their house in my enthusiasm to be well and not feel floored again 🙈

littleblackdress04 · 31/03/2020 09:58

Also everything very dry in the evenings especially - nose & throat especially - anyone else get that?

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 31/03/2020 10:01

So glad you got seen, Spacecadet. Hope you feel much better very soon.

I had a fever in the night (day 8 now), which was unpleasant, but then slept well and feel better - somewhat - this morning.

Vit C, paracetamol, lots of rest and LOTS of water seem to be helping.

Casino218 · 31/03/2020 10:04

@littleblackdress04 yes take it easy. You are not just going to bounce right back. If you overdo it you risk putting more stress on your body's ability to repair. Small steps 😁

OP posts:
longshot · 31/03/2020 10:07

@littleblackdress04 I think this virus lulls you into a false sense of security again and again. How many days into it are you?

I’m feeling a lot better but chest pains are annoying me, feel I can’t do anything as don’t want to make them worse so just sitting on the laptop!

Isadora2007 · 31/03/2020 10:08

@cornishdreams1 to be fair I would hope that people in healthcare were NOT going about their business following sickness and diarrhoea! 48 hours past the last symptom...

This is one thing I hope occurs after all this cv19 stuff- people take the transmission of infection far more seriously- adhere to 48 hour rules and wash hands more thoroughly etc and businesses will stop penalising people staying off sick for the sake of others.

Isadora2007 · 31/03/2020 10:10

And I hope everyone on this thread gets well soon. From what I’ve read having a pulse oximeter is reassuring as people experiencing breathlessness can see their oxygen levels are not low so they are actually
managing to breathe just feels like they’re not if that makes sense. 95-99% is normal.

littleblackdress04 · 31/03/2020 10:11

@longshot I think I am confused with my counting. If I count from burning lungs, face flashes, mild chills etc then it’s actually about 12 days. But from actually going to bed, it’s day 8 I think- I’ve lost track- when should I count from? Very first mild symptoms?

I feel floored today but my chest seems clear & I have hardly any cough- feel congested too. Assume it’s a good sign overall that I felt normal yesterday?

mymoonmyman2020 · 31/03/2020 10:22

Thinking of everyone. Had horrible cycle of nightmares and temp spikes in the night, waking up drenched in sweat (dreams of the sea!).

Today breathlessness is much better so perhaps it was some kind of ‘peak’. I can but hope!
