Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

@alphasox I didn’t get a fever until day 6/7 I don’t think, then had it for about 5-6 days.

I wanted to ask some of those who are now further along @notangelinajolie @schrodingerskitty @TheWooisStrong @Casino218 @tangledyarn and any others past day 19
Or so how are your chest pains now? I am much improved generally now but have stabbing pains still in my back left ribs and still the sort of general ache in my left side around breast and shoulder blade. I guess this is ‘pleuritic pain’ but as I feel quite reasonable now I am wondering if everyone is still left with this? If I take paracetamol it is milder but still quite sore. Scaring myself it’s coming back. I’ve had a restful day so don’t think ‘I’ve done too much’.

tangledyarn · 30/03/2020 19:42

@littlemissmuffins Yes I had mild symptoms for about 7 days. In that I thought I had a bad but normal virus. I got a lot worse after then as developed a lot of breathing problems over weeks 2 and 3 but am now getting better. However, it's also possible to have very mild symptoms and that's it. My partner has had a really bad cough and felt rough but not been unwell particularly.

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 19:44

@longshot yes I've still got chest pains which is tiring but now combined with a temperature. Not sure what I can really do apart from paracetamol and rest.

@Alphasox
I'm on day 7 and had no fever so far. I think there are quite a few of us.
Apparently 11% of people don't get a fever.

Spacecadetagain · 30/03/2020 19:47

@longshot well guessing I’m 17 days in that’s very similiar to me.. it feels like pluerisy pain which is not unusual with respiratory viruses ..it can linger for a few weeks ..

WanderingLost167 · 30/03/2020 19:51

Day 12 here, keep feeling exhausted and aches, chest felt better but tighter again as the day goes on. Can't get a full breath without pain, but not struggling to breathe as, such. Sore throat. It just feels like I'll never feel well again.

Is it unlikely to get much worse?

BlueCookieMonster · 30/03/2020 19:54

My whole household is down with it, well apart from the smallest small (as far as I’m aware).

Freshairimportanttoo · 30/03/2020 19:57

I'm approaching day 7 tomorrow

If I'm OK tomorrow do you think I'll be clear? Or is it day 8.

Bornlazy · 30/03/2020 20:00

@Spacecadetagain I think they will give you an antibiotic. I hope it helps if they do.

IpeartreeI · 30/03/2020 20:02

Sats were 92% but have gone up now and the wheezing has eased. Perhaps I'm getting asthma or something.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 30/03/2020 20:02

Schrodingerskitty hope you get some medical support soon. Flowers

tootsey · 30/03/2020 20:02

Coming to the end of day 19. I really thought that today was a turning point, but the chest pains returned after doing a bit round the house this morning. Racing heart for hours. Went back to bed at 4 and got up just before 7. Helped a lot, but chest pain still lingering in left boob area. No burning thankfully. I think this is going to be a long drawn slog to get better.

Spacecadetagain · 30/03/2020 20:03

@bornlazy normally I’d welcome it but lots of antibiotics react with my anti coagulants.. not sure either how I’ll collect it ! I’m going to try 111 again

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 30/03/2020 20:06

're fever - I tried the symptom checker and so far have said 'No' to fever as I've had chills and no raised temp. Tonight I said 'yes ' to fever and it asked what type - high temp or chills. So this seems to mean a 'fever' also covers chills?!

Porcupineinwaiting · 30/03/2020 20:14

That's interesting @ScrimpshawTheSecond. I had chills for the first 7 days then a slight fever (and also chills) on days 8 and 10.

Bornlazy · 30/03/2020 20:21

@Spacecadetagain 111 sent my prescription direct to my local pharmacy. I still had to ask my SIL to collect it from there but it was easier than my GP.

Gettingthereslowly1 · 30/03/2020 20:23

A couple of questions:
Has anyone had fever longer than 18 days? If so did you receive any worthwhile advice from anyone?
If so, when did you / are you planning to stop isolating from the rest of the family?

Spacecadetagain · 30/03/2020 20:24

@bornlazy .. ahh that’s helpful . I could see if I can get someone to fetch it tomorrow

TheWooisStrong · 30/03/2020 20:29

@longshot First day today for me without the weird pain between shoulders etc.
I am feeling so much better this evening again. It’s up and down, but the downs are not as low and the ups are more near normality.
Hoping that tomorrow I’ll be better again - every day we are one day closer to fully recovered, back to good health, and back to normality!

Bornlazy · 30/03/2020 20:31

@ I think the advice is once you’ve had 2 days of no high temperature. How high is your temperature going?

GidgetGirl · 30/03/2020 20:31

@littlemissmuffins @mymoonmyman2020 I’m in pretty much exactly the same boat as both of you. Relatively mild symptoms for the last 9 or 10 days, but quite a variety of them. Started with sore/achey throat and feeling like I was coming down with a cold, hot flushes, constant headache, loss of appetite, bit of nausea, etc etc. Didn’t have a cough or proper fever to start off with and no chest discomfort.

I started developing a bit of a cough and shortness of breath about three days ago, but it’s more of a constant frog in my throat than a horrendous jarring cough. At around the same time as the cough developed I had a bout of diarrhea and really horrible nausea.

I had a bit of a fever in bed last night and didn’t sleep well, and my breathing has felt tight but I haven’t had any pressure on my chest. Got a bit of a fever again now and feeling thick-headed and a bit fluey, but not awful. Some very minor chest pain occasionally.

The worst thing is the anxiety! I’m constantly reading stuff and doing sums trying to work out if I’m past the danger zone or not. I just don’t know. I keep telling myself I’m a lot better off than many, and I should be thankful. And I am! But I’m still terrified. There will obviously be some built-in bias implies these threads - most of the people that have been posting for much-needed support have been feeling very, very unwell. And a much smaller number like me are not quite as unwell, but very anxious!

Gettingthereslowly1 · 30/03/2020 20:36

@bornlazy I think your reply was to me - please ignore me if not!
Temp now generally about 38.5 - prior to last couple of days it was higher, up to 39.1.
Can’t find advice on 111 for fever this long.

Bornlazy · 30/03/2020 20:41

It was @Gettingthereslowly1. I would phone 111 for their advice as that’s a long time to have a high temperature. You must feel worn out and miserable.

Spacecadetagain · 30/03/2020 20:51

I got through to 111 after fifty minutes on hold . Call handler was lovely and said a lot of people calling in have been fighting for breath because they were panicking. I said I was trying to be calm because DD aged nine is sat here. He said well done and sounded really kind which helped. I’ll get a call back in around two hours apparently
