Just that really
It's interesting to know others people opinions, As the virus gets worse in uk although we had no new cases or new deaths Since yesterday so far 🤞🏻

I think they will extend it for another three weeks as we are expected to peak in two to three weeks. My daughters' school are definitely assuming they won't be back on 22nd April.

keepingbees · 28/03/2020 11:45

I think it will be extended for another 3 weeks then another review. I don't think anything will change for the better just yet.

Whoopsmahoot · 28/03/2020 11:45

Extension of lockdown- anything else would b irresponsible. Lockdown needs to continue 2 weeks after peak.

inwood · 28/03/2020 11:46

Another three weeks and then possibly three more

Oysterbabe · 28/03/2020 11:46

Of course there have been new cases and deaths, just not reported yet. At the end of 3 weeks it will be extended for another 3.

itsgettingweird · 28/03/2020 11:46

Extend it for another 2-3 weeks minimum.

It will continue as it is if people behave!

It'll get stricter if people continue to think rules don't apply to them and nice weather looks to mean people will still try and flock to beauty spots.

ifonly4 · 28/03/2020 11:46

Extended lockdown and tighter restrictions if numbers aren't drastically down

CoronaIsShit · 28/03/2020 11:46

It will definitely be extended. Possibly for 12 weeks. Not much point doing the lockdown and trashing the economy if you’re not going to do it for long enough to make a real difference is there really?

Shinyshoes2 · 28/03/2020 11:47

Well I can tell you those figures are way off 4 hours ago I was walking the dog
Now I cant move my legs , literally cannot move my legs and I'm not exaggerating.
I really want to go to the toilet but I'm mustering up the effort to get on the floor and crawl
This is aching my arms typing this and it has taken longer than usual to type this
I developed a cough 9 days ago and apart from a cough I've gone drastically downhill fast in 4 hours

CoronaIsShit · 28/03/2020 11:47

Sorry meant 12 weeks in total.

NikeDeLaSwoosh · 28/03/2020 11:48

I'm not sure about that - we're only a week in and buy-in is already starting to waver.

I'm hearing more and more voices questioning the med/long term viability of this lockdown.

Cornettoninja · 28/03/2020 11:48

@dollface19 as far as I know figures are only released once a day. It used to be 5pm but that seems to have changed over the last week.

I would be enormously shocked to hear no new diagnoses or deaths today.

Iggly · 28/03/2020 11:48

Another extension.

The biggest spreaders of this illness are the ones with mild symptoms. As soon as they lift the lockdown I guess that there will be another surge... because we have not enough testing, we don’t know enough about the spread.

Persipan · 28/03/2020 11:49

I'm not sure what you mean by 'we had no new cases or deaths since yesterday so far' - the figures are released later in the day?

Given that the current expectation is that things will rank up rapidly over the next couple of weeks, I would expect that at the end of the three weeks, restrictions will need to be extended for longer.

Cornettoninja · 28/03/2020 11:49

Oh and I think it will be extended again. I think the vulnerable isolation criteria of 12 weeks is much more realistic.

GCAcademic · 28/03/2020 11:50

As the virus gets worse in uk although we had no new cases or new deaths Since yesterday so far

Er, you what now?

MeanMrMustardSeed · 28/03/2020 11:52

I wouldn’t be making plans for any time before July. And even then I’d only make them tenuously and wouldn’t part with any money.

LittleBoyJuly2020 · 28/03/2020 11:53

@NikeDeLaSwoosh It doesn't really matter what people are saying or questioning the viability of the lockdown. We'll have to do what's necessary, despite the massive inconvenience. You can't just let a virus take over the country and possibly kill millions for the sake of the economy.

GreyishDays · 28/03/2020 11:54

Cases aren’t released live. They all get updated at about 5pm.

MrsDevine89 · 28/03/2020 11:55

There was definitely new cases. Boris Johnson will be involved in the last 24hrs figures due to the way reporting works...

I think another 3 weeks after this then probably 3 more

winterinmadeira · 28/03/2020 11:56

We will remain in lockdown until the numbers significantly drop. It could be 8-12 weeks in total depending on how the population behaves and complies with the rules.

WearyandBleary · 28/03/2020 11:56

@Shinyshoes2 I don’t want to frighten you but the common pattern is for the virus to turn one way or another around day 7-9. Please call for help if you start struggling to breathe. Take care.

Shiny shoes hope you are ok.

But this is a perfect example of why social distancing is so so important. 4 hours ago you were walking your dog and now almost certainly poorly.

4 hours ago when you felt absolutely fine and walked your dog (and why wouldn’t you?) but if people aren’t careful about who they see, they go out feeling fine and actually have it. With no way of knowing.

I hope it’s a v mild case for you

MabelMoo23 · 28/03/2020 11:58

Just seen you had a cough. Agree with mumofone, you shouldn’t have been out if you had a cough
