Depends, no one really knows, they need to see how it pans out but the smart money is on they will extend this, maybe for a couple of weeks, see how the cases tail down, if they tail down, get the nhs up to full capacity with the new hospitals then slowly release the restrictions up to the twelve weeks.
Suspect the first restriction lift will be to get everyone back to work, where home from possible or in the workplace or not. Hospitality and social venues will stay closed. Schools still a question work. But I assume where necessary open.
There has been many mistakes though, they specifically stated they wanted people working, not just essential workers, and many many companies jumped and shut down totally, completely against the government advice.
Which means if this doesn’t get controlled they could be shut down for months and months, and simply never recover. The government can’t bail everyone out for that long. These companies should have done what the government requested, stay open, keep people working where possible and maintain social distancing in their workplaces, keeping it ticking over.
