Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

Hello! I had a good nights sleep for the first night last night, no shivers/chills for over 12hrs now which makes me hopeful - and my racing heart wasn’t as racing.
Day 12 I think for me, although day 1-4 symptoms were v v mild.
I’ve got a bit of an appetite back too.
Hoping this is the start of recovery.
Back pain still there, as is mild tickly cough.

Enough4me · 22/03/2020 08:20

I found the first thread really useful for reading about symptoms. It may be good to say early that some people may have far milder symptoms and not be certain, but it is still better to isolate. I feel like I have had heartburn for five days now, heavy chest, intermittent cough, take paracetamol when temperature goes up. It could be a regular chest illness, but I am in SI with my DC for 14 days in case it is Covid19. We need to look out for each other.

tempestterra · 22/03/2020 08:21

coronadeThanksThanks
longshot thank you for starting new thread.

Day 1: headache, tightness in chest like wearing a bra two sizes too small
Day 2: low grade fever, burning sensation in chest (likely sever reflux if the info from the US is right), tight chest, headache and diarrhoea, feeling sick. Symptoms on and off throughout the day
Day 3: as for day 2
Day 4: similar to previous days but less off symptom than on. Then severe upper back pain end of the day.
Day 5: bad night last night, woke up with a horrible taste in my mouth, sulpha is the best way to describe it...urgh! Pain upper back, but not 'backache' if that makes send more sore than achy, but uncomfortable nonetheless. Still low grade fever, still feel as if I'm wearing a bra but I'm not. More achy and tired than I have been.

IgnoranceIsStrength · 22/03/2020 08:23

I'm worrying now. Woken up this morning and my whole chest feels constricted. Really sore and achy. No fever yet 38.1 on thermo but monitoring. Did anything touch the ache? Taken paracetamol which if it was soreness from gardening yesterday I would have thought would eased but it hasnt

YouAreTheEggManIAmTheWalrus · 22/03/2020 08:27

I’m 4 weeks in now, started to pick up Weds Thurs for the second time, but the burning pain and shortness of breath returned on Friday.

stayathomegardener · 22/03/2020 08:30

Hello!
Thanks for starting a new thread Longshot.

No cough or temperature.

Day 1-3 fatigue, thought it was stress and exhaustion.
Day 4--7 fatigue, burning sensation on breathing in, chest tender, face flushing, breathless, over breathing, palpitations, back of chest pains, no appetite, feeling very peculiar.

Day 8-9 fatigue lifting a little, lung burning much reduced but still aware of my lungs if that makes sense. Typical flu aches on shoulders and back. Still having face flushes.

Day 10 -11 if CV wasn't around I'd likely be up pushing on, fatigue seems so so but then exhausted after doing anything, burning lungs not noticeable but chest still feels weird. Face flushing occasionally.

Holding on for day 14 hoping DH and DD don't go down with it as I wasn't distanced from them until day 4.

Hope everyone else is coping ok.

sniffysnifferson · 22/03/2020 08:34

38.1 temp IS a fever

WobblyLondoner · 22/03/2020 08:42

Thanks so much for this thread. I'm on day 3. My main symptom has been feeling incredibly weak and shaky/shivery. Occasional fever and cough, nausea. Sore muscles especially in my back. I spent yesterday in bed and at times would try to get up because I felt ok but on trying would feel so unwell I'd just head back to the duvet. Hope everyone is doing ok.

WobblyLondoner · 22/03/2020 08:43

Oh and so thirsty, with a horrible taste in my mouth. That's been ongoing since the start.

stayathomegardener · 22/03/2020 08:46

@YouAreTheEggManIAmTheWalrus still flaring up after four weeks!

longshot · 22/03/2020 08:50

Did someone on the last thread mention achey legs quite far on?? Mine are so bad today, day 12. I can’t remember who said it but hoping someone else will come along soon and say ‘oh yes I had that and now I’m better!’

Has anyone been given a test and diagnosed? If so could they share their days/symptoms too?

OhioOhioOhio · 22/03/2020 08:53

I don't think they are testing.

user34254356 · 22/03/2020 09:05

Thank you for starting the new thread.

Day 1, dry cough and chills when i went to bed
Day 2-4, under the weather, lethargic and slight aches and pains, cough and painful throat especially when talking, metallic taste in the mouth
Day 5, in bed most of the day, fatigue, aches and pains and feeling feverish
Day 6, worst day as I couldn't get out of bed at all, with severe aches, mild fever but cough gone
Day 7, felt energised and no fever
Day 8, chills return and again fatigued, sinusitis
Day 9, still in bed, extremely dry sinuses and throat, let's see how it goes!

HRH2020 · 22/03/2020 09:07

I posted this on the last thread

5 days before symptoms I had a sudden fever and racing heart, thought it was hot flush but went to bed and it went after a couple of hours.

Day 1 mildly feverish and chills felt like coming down with something, bad headache mild sore throat
Day 2 nausea no appetite, hot face, chills, headache, mild sore throat
Day 3 started getting random pains in chest and upper back all day then heavy chest and some breathlessness in the evening which made me cough, mild sore throat, nausea
Day 4 fever had gone but some chills felt really cold, mild aches in chest and back, tired (but I'm always tired so not abnormal) headache came back
Day 5 very mild chest aches and episodes of being really tired
Day 6 feeling mostly recovered

All the symptoms came and went so I could feel totally fine for a few hours then have to lie down. But I would describe my symptoms as very mild. I wish there was an antibody test as I work in the community and feel a bit useless staying indoors (obviously have been isolating currently).

user34254356 · 22/03/2020 09:07

@longshot yes to achey legs and hands!!

YouAreTheEggManIAmTheWalrus · 22/03/2020 09:09

@stayathomegardener I’m asthmatic though so it has hit me quite hard, I had a course of antibiotics and was prescribed steroids but I didn’t take those after reading the advice on NSAIDS and other anti inflammatory meds. I still keep getting shivery, slept with the electric blanket on all night. Still dry coughing. It’s been rough but could have been a lot worse. Consoling myself with that.

longshot · 22/03/2020 09:15

@YouAreTheEggManIamTheWalrus - I’m so sorry you’ve been suffering for a month but it’s so good you’re on here and updating us and we can see that’s recovery is there...!

@user34254356 - what day are you on? Hadn’t noticed hand ache until you said but yes I have that a bit too!!

For all you going through this Thanks

Can I ask how you are being cared for, assuming you are at home with family/friends? Are you self-isolating even within your own home or is someone giving you hands on care?

Genuine question, I don't know what to do for best should I catch it. Keep behind a bedroom door and get food/drink/meds left outside to avoid further transmission? Or too late by the point I get it and may as well let people give hands on care? What's the advice 🤷‍♀️

treedragon · 22/03/2020 09:17

Have all of you here actually got covid19? I didn’t realise they were testing routinely?

Can anyone relate to the whole thing causing you severe anxiety? I was quite indifferent for a while but now I have become super hyper aware of my body. I had fitful sleep waking up with what i think we’re waves of anxiety. It hits me like that. I am someone with anxiety, not afraid to say or share that here.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 22/03/2020 09:20

Hello. I've been showing symptoms since Monday. Started off as flu-like symptoms, with a cough that's gradually getting worse. My chest hurts and feels like it's on fire, breathing is getting harder, and I have pains around my rib cage. I've never had a temperature, weirdly - had times of feeling too hot or too cold, but actual temperature has always remained normal.

The rib pains are worrying me. I've read the virus can leave you with long-term lung damage, and I'm a theatre actor. Damaged lungs could end my career.

CruCru · 22/03/2020 09:27

Thank you for the thread. We have it (self isolating) and it's a weird illness. I have a tight chest, have had a temperature but not now, weird pains in my legs and backside. The thing is, I sort of know how a cold or flu goes (and although I had both measles and rubella, I was too young to remember all that much about them) so having a completely new virus feels very strange.

SummersMahoosiveClipOnFringe · 22/03/2020 09:35

After a really crummy day yesterday - work up today feeling tonnes better. Throat gone, no headache and pressure feeling almost resolved lungs. Not exhausted and no longer dizzy.

Only noticeable thing is feeling chilly and slightly irritated throat such that I want to clear it every now and then. DAY 10 for me.

SquashedFlyBiscuit · 22/03/2020 09:44

Chest is tight and hurty but breathing okay. Coughing hurts more now.

I hate feeling in the dark and not able to pop to the dr. Or knowing where it will go. Asthmatic and dr wed said not to take steroids that id normally take for chest infection. So if it is "just" a chest infection how will it go? Or covid. Does it just fade away. I wish we could all be tested.

KayakingOnDown · 22/03/2020 09:47

Hi all. Day 6 of chest pain. Before that I had a cold.

I've been diagnosed with Covid by my GP who prescribed antibiotics to deal with any secondary infection. I'm asthmatic.

My initial symptoms were like a bad head cold with only one day of a low fever, then a bit of a tickly cough. That was it. Thought I was getting better, them the chest pain and constricted breathing started. It's horrible but manageable.

Doctor mentioned pleurisy and said to ring back if the pain increased to feel like a knife, or if I was struggling to breathe.
