OP posts:
ElectricMistofelees · 18/03/2020 00:00

Had a baby 12 weeks ago. No childcare nearby. All of the posh restaurants nearby which I thought I wouldn’t be going to for years have started doing takeaways!

stoptherideiwanttogetoff · 18/03/2020 00:04

@EnthusiasmIsDisturbed the very reason our nhs is in such a bloody state .. meetings for meetings sake. Money down the toilet pan!

middleager · 18/03/2020 00:10

Saved £70 on hair (though havng to do home dye and DH will cut it Grin)

Spoke to several people up my road for first time ever.

detachablehoof · 18/03/2020 00:12

Nobody moaning about Brexit any more!

KahlanRahl · 18/03/2020 00:15

Garden is starting to look better. I'm on top of the laundry.

StuckBetweenDarknessAndLight · 18/03/2020 00:21

I'm going to have time to garden, clean my flat and learn to do all the crafting stuff I haven't had time to do!

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 18/03/2020 00:25

Getting jobs done around the house; no ferrying the children around to their various activities 'cos they're all stopped.

OTOH, we might all murder each other as DH and I are trying to wfh while getting awkward teens to do their schoolwork.

Biochemistree · 18/03/2020 00:29

My uni exams have been cancelled in favour of online open book exams or replacement essays. Will have time to sort the garden and do a full spring clean of the house.

cannotmakemymindup · 18/03/2020 00:30

Getting well prepared for baby with clothes etc soon to wash.
Finally get round to all the sewing projects I had not completed
Get round to painting the garden furniture like I meant to last year to stop it rusting.

(Honestly I need these distractions as I mainly have four walls for 12 weeks)

Binting · 18/03/2020 00:30

I’m going to save quite a bit of money due to not travelling, not buying coffees and generally not buying stuff. Sadly that isn’t a good thing for businesses, but I’ll have a splurge once this is all over and we start recovering.

Natsel84 · 18/03/2020 00:31

I can drink wine on a weekday Grin🍷🍷🍷

TreacherousPissFlap · 18/03/2020 01:05

I will continue to go to work unless sick, but the free time I will have when I'm not there
We will not need to run DS around, we will not have to "socialise", there will be no interminable weekend trips to the guitar shop, DH will be able to practice his ironing skills (having claimed for many years it's "not his skill set")
I've already cleaned out two kitchen cupboards #everycloud

DrMadelineMaxwell · 18/03/2020 01:13

Kids in my class taking hygiene seriously..

DrMadelineMaxwell · 18/03/2020 01:15

Also saving money and being refunded a holiday, airport parking and a few shows I had booked..

managedmis · 18/03/2020 01:16

Kids have been eating plenty and running around outside and have been sleeping well.

In other news, wine time is now at 3pm rather 5pm 🍷

Some genius on another thread mentioned 'doing Christmas' mid week - getting pissed, watching shit films and eating too much - I may implement this strategy chez nous also.

ineedaholidaynow · 18/03/2020 01:28

I may finally finish my Christmas craft that I started about 10 years ago Grin

I may also learn how to cut hair (so wishing we had sorted DS’s haircut a few weeks ago). This could be hilariously funny or disastrous. Only time I have cut hair was when I got plasticine stuck in my hair when I was about 5 and cut a huge chunk out of my fringe. I’m not sure my adult self will make a better job!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 18/03/2020 04:06

@OhLookHeKickedTheBall what is the difference between a temperature and a fever?

Stellaris22 · 18/03/2020 04:13

Light hearted is one thing, 'climate change nutters' is deliberately offensive, please don't.

RomeoLikedCapuletGirls · 18/03/2020 04:19

Quite. One of the plus sides is that there will be less fossil fuel activity as people travel less

LightAsTheBreeze · 18/03/2020 05:01

DH may finally get all those diy jobs done

CanICelebrate · 18/03/2020 05:17

I don’t have to go and watch bloody annoying Peter rabbit 2 at the cinema Grin

Pinkarsedfly · 18/03/2020 05:19

I don’t have to do the presentation I was dreading at uni.

DS is coming home as his uni has closed.

I have lots of time to read the new Hilary Mantel, which is a beast of a book.

I don’t have to feel guilty about not attending the gym/Slimming World.

I can practise guitar and knitting.

TryingAndFailing39 · 18/03/2020 05:20

My younger dc taking hygiene seriously!

GnomeDePlume · 18/03/2020 05:40

WFH meant that I finished work early enough to go for a walk with DH last night. We walked round our allotment (allotment great for social distancing as we are an anti social lot at the best of times).
