Beautiful, calm Smile

Yes, the businesses. It's like capitalism is dissolving - except when I think of the supermarkets currently.

littledrummergirl · 16/03/2020 23:46

My dsis is a dental nurse and she's still working.

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 23:46

Do we think we will get lockdowns or will The government just tolerate ICU Collapsing - the over 70's are the most opposed to lockdowns so it is going to spread rapidly.

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 23:47

Dentists will carry on to any lockdown and even emergency ones will have to continue.

Exochord · 16/03/2020 23:48

Do we think we will get lockdowns
Judging by today’s weak message I don’t think we will. We’ll get “recommendations” to stay at home which numerous people will ignore.

Night all, try to get some rest. Read something lighthearted instead of this thread before sleep, do some relaxation. Wishing you all a restful night Thanks

Dentists should be on the ball with clinical standards of hygiene. I had a dental check up last week, and everyone was very mindful. Even the pen was doused in hand gel before the receptionist handed it to me. I had latex gloves on and own pen but felt reassured!

Of course I could've picked it up in the waiting room, but keeping fingers crossed and hoping not...

It's not for kids?

Janemarpling · 17/03/2020 00:11

Agree Burpees or the teachers with health conditions

Wehttam · 17/03/2020 00:14

At this point if you are concerned about the health of your children, if you can, you should remove them from school. This inevitable directive will officially come into effect soon, I am sure of it.

DP a teacher at a secondary where the head refuses to accept the severity of this situation and along with the leadership team are more or less dismissing this as nothing. No signage, no extra hand washing, no preparation for remote learning, parents evening still going ahead, no ramping up cleaning schedules, nothing.

It’s actually shocking to realise how vulnerable some kids are at school if those in charge do not take necessary steps to protect them.

Yes stay home if you’re a teacher who is vulnerable

Nearly asleep then mind in overdrive

Why can’t they put fines on things at least it sends a stronger message. So many people thinking oh I’ll just do this.

And that chart if I can see it correctly means 70+ line is best one, why doesn’t red line go up a bit and they should go scorched earth on 70+ instead of woolly.

Ok typing so I can offload.

MarshaBradyo · 17/03/2020 00:27

Wettham email round that Spain message

MurrayTheMonk · 17/03/2020 00:32

I'm at home with sick Dd and mum and feel rubbish.
Just spent six hours on the phone trying to sort my care home out.
One service user with a cough. Can't isolate him properly from other service users.
Staff called PHE who said advisory was for them to all self isolate for 14 days.
All staff except two now called in as isolating. I have no one to work there tomorrow morning.
Two on waking night now will need to go home in the morning.

Called Local authority who advised calling PHE.
Called PHE-advise for care homes hasn't been updated by government yet.
Called CQC said to call 111
Called 111, begged them to refer service user for test, so as to avoid having to close home down due to no staff (if he doesn't have it). Refused as they aren't testing the public.
I have no clue what to do at all!!

I'll have to go in somehow, I can't let people be there with no meds or food or water. But with all staff Off for two weeks I don't have a plan.

This is a fucking shambles and I am furious. How was this not planned for months ago when we knew it was coming? All
They've done today is 'advise' they can't even do the right thing now!!! Livid!

Lynamic · 17/03/2020 00:39

Government need to share their data. I'm finding some but can't read all the notes

CharlieTangoBanana · 17/03/2020 00:42

@MurrayTheMonk that sounds absolutely shit, I have no suggestions for you other than to urge you to contact a journalist tonight and get a camera crew outside your care home tomorrow morning - this story has to be told because this is a scenario that will be played out over and over again. I can see a moment in the not distant future where old, sick and vulnerable people are left to sit in their own filth to die because there is nobody well enough to care for them.

If I were you I may be tempted to phone 999 and say I need ambulances for x people because there is nobody to care for them.

queenjaneappro · 17/03/2020 00:58

@MurrayTheMonk That is horrendous. I would
contact the press like poster above suggested.

defthand · 17/03/2020 01:09

This is ridiculous. They need to test doctors. They need to test nurses. They need to test care workers. They need to test any potential cases in high density living like care homes and prisons.

Failure to do this leads to staff being unnecessarily out of action if they are negative and leads to unnecessary major spreading events in dense communities.

Our CMO Chris Whitty appeared to outright lie when he was questioned about this today in the press conference. He said they were expanding testing. That there already existed three levels - testing of ICU patients, testing of hospital cases, testing by GPs in the community.

I’m not aware of any GP testing anymore. Can anyone confirm? And it seems almost impossible to get one at hospital based on MN posters. Point blank lies, IMO.

QueenofmyPrinces · 17/03/2020 02:06

Does epilepsy count as a chronic neurological condition that requires social distancing?

Tibblestoe · 17/03/2020 04:24

@Burpeesshmurpees if your child has asthma you absolutely should be keeping him off school.
