Thank you - placemarking.

Thank you! Panicked when I realised I made the second to last post in the last one and was worried people wouldn't be able to find part 3.

LaneBoy · 16/03/2020 18:34

I’m up for all positive threads right now, I’ve not been on the first ones but can I join please?
:)

DaffodilThatch · 16/03/2020 18:35

This is a thread where we've been sharing positive thoughts, links, observances, cute pet and nature pics too! All to help us get through these strange times. Sorry if anyone had already created a Part III, I couldn't see one and really didn't want tk lose the thread as it has been a real lifeline.

Part I is here:

DaffodilThatch · 16/03/2020 18:43

I know some people were hiding the topic and only looking at the other thread. @Mumsnet, is there any way to post a link to this thread on the Part II even though it's full?!

Waterandlemonjuice · 16/03/2020 18:44

Checking in!

HonestlyItsFine · 16/03/2020 18:55

@Mumsnet I have the second to final post on the part 2 thread- more than happy for someone to edit it to add a link to this thread if it's possible?

Alsohuman · 16/03/2020 18:58

Thank you so much Daffodil, and everyone who posts here. These threads are an absolute life line.

Siameasy · 16/03/2020 18:59

The weather has been pretty good here (south east) and we saw the first butterflies of the year. We also have a pussy willow tree in the garden and the bees are having a field day. This gives me hope.

HonestlyItsFine · 16/03/2020 19:01

Siameasy I'm also in the South East. Had my windows open today and heard the birds singing, just as they have every day and will every day from now on.

stella1know · 16/03/2020 19:03

I woke up with lockdown anxiety and had to calm myself by stroking the cat and watching the birds. Saw a mistle thrush in the nut tree and it was very round a fuzzy. Made my day and I stayed off the internet too. Can I join please?

M0reGinPlease · 16/03/2020 19:04

Chris Witty is so calming!

I actually feel much better after the new measures today. It persuaded my parents they need to stay at home for a bit. If we all make small changes we'll make a massive difference.

SuDaji · 16/03/2020 19:11

Jumping on this thread if no one minds. Have ordered some yoga stuff for home mat/resistance bands and that as my class has been cancelled and I'm determined to make good use of my time if we go into lockdown. Trying to stay positive and upbeat - days are getting longer, flowers are starting to bloom, birds are shitting all over my car.... spring is here!

namechangedforthecraic · 16/03/2020 19:17

Joining this thread and staying away from all the others!

Spudlet · 16/03/2020 19:21

Phew! Found you!

Knocks on the door, looking for sanity

Layladylay234 · 16/03/2020 19:24

Hi people. I've posted on this thread quite a bit and really need talking down after today. At 3pm,found out I had gestational diabetes and at 5,Bojo announced I'd be self isolating for 10 weeks. I'm 29 weeks pregnant and after being shocked to be told I'd be self isolating,I was fine.

However, then I read a thread on the other page about a woman who's 32 weeks pregnant, went to hospital for a cough, has tested positive for pneumonia and now they're trying to send her home. Couple that with the baby born on Sat with it and no news on either baby or mum,it's safe to say my CBT is working over time so I don't completely freak out.

Please send me lovely thoughts and positive stories to bring me back down to earth again xx

mealychump · 16/03/2020 19:30

I'm back.

Am finding the relentless talking about it really tricky and depressing.

We can't do anything, we have to just go day by day and carry on.

The new measures are for me, really reassuring. My mum is now self isolating which is tough for her but we will do what we can.

I think I am going to spend the evening making lists of activities to do with my 2.5 year old so we can have some structure to our days. And try and make the most of having lots of time with him and his older brother.

CaveMum · 16/03/2020 19:34

Got chatting to a dad at nursery today, he is Spanish and told me his sister in Madrid has CV so she and her young family are all isolating but are all no worse off than with a cold. Reassuring to hear.

magimedi · 16/03/2020 19:38

Thank you for starting thread III, Daffodil And thank you for using Roman numerals to distinguish it! Little thing, but lovely.

I went up to out local pharmacy, attached to the doctors' surgery at 5 this evening to get an urgent prescription for my very elederly neighbours. You are coralled at the entrance - can't really go in & all very efficient.

Got the drugs & I said thank you & then said thank you for all you are doing. Everyone else in the queue (about 10 people) all went yes - thank you. You should have seen the grins on the pharmacy staffs' faces (about 10 - it's a big place). We need to aknowledge what HCP's are doing for us.

And thank fuck for such a lovely sunny day - what a difference that makes.

magimedi · 16/03/2020 19:40

stella I am very Envy of you seeing a mistle thrush - can't remember the last time I saw one of them round here & an ordinary thrush is a big occasion.

NoRoomInBed · 16/03/2020 19:41

Joining 😊

Spudlet · 16/03/2020 19:43

Well, DS and I went out and did a lap of the garden with our watches on (not that ds’s works, but he likes to join in!). 110m a lap. So 9 of those to a kilometre.

I’m very much hoping not to have to do the whole challenge around the garden - indeed I am not expecting to. But now I am prepped, and for me, that gives a sense of calm. DH has also said he will now work from home - we’re not worried for ourselves so much as for others around us.

There were four hares and two or three fat pheasants on the field opposite me today - I tried to take a picture for you all but they were too far away. I watched them through the binoculars for a while though. They were grazing away and looked so peaceful. I find watching nature do its thing very reassuring - the world goes on turning, despite it all.

Alsohuman · 16/03/2020 19:50

Laylady, take comfort that we’ve heard nothing about Saturday’s mum and baby, the media would be desperate to tell us about the dreadful tragedy if anything had happened to either of them. No news is good news.

Keep thinking about your lovely little one and that magical moment when you first see their face. Do you know what you’re having?
