Think would be good to keep this thread going! Will link to the previous threads in a bit.

@gingerbreadslice 😍😍😍

polkadotpixie · 16/03/2020 22:07

@BlueMoon1103 I feel exactly the same. I'm almost as anxious about being stuck in my house with my 18 month old as I am about Coronavirus. It's a massive trigger to my anxiety in general as I don't cope well when he fusses and cries

shinynewapple2020 · 16/03/2020 22:10

I'm so pleased to see that current advice is you can still go for a walk. Was lurking on another thread a couple of days ago and people were getting very angry at those that suggested that a lone dog walk on a deserted beach was perfectly safe.

Struggling a bit today. My FIL is seriously ill and that, together with the pandemic has started DH to
Be convinced it's the end of the world. I think being able to get out for a walk will be very important for us, and for our dog.

@gingerbreadslice your little boy has such a beautiful smile 😊

BlueMoon1103 · 16/03/2020 22:14

@polkadotpixie makes me feel better not to be alone, I’m definitely more worried about the effects on my mental health staying in would have. It’s more than just being bored which I’m sure you understand! Cake

Hi all so glad this thread is going it a really needed

I ventured over to the dark side today to check a thread about the announcement this afternoon....BIG MISTAKE!

3rd post on the thread announced that people with health conditions need to self isolate for 12 weeks.

After a massive panic (I have asthma and OH has high blood pressure and diabetes, never mind out parents) I actually went online and found the quote from the PM which says nothing of the sort. It says in the next few days those people may be asked to avoid social interaction...ffs!!

When I pointed This out on the thread I was more or lessnignorednin favour of scaremongering and lunacy!

I need this place, thanks guys x

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 16/03/2020 22:16

Excuse the typos.

After what happened I hit the wine 😅

gingerbreadslice · 16/03/2020 22:21

@HonestlyItsFine Thank you x

clunkyinthebackend · 16/03/2020 22:30

Checking in oh sensible ones

PowerslidePanda · 16/03/2020 22:32

@gingerbreadslice - That's basically the approach we're taking. My kids are too young for school, but I'm on maternity leave and DH can work from home for as long as necessary, so we're planning to just stay at home for the next however many weeks.

Jrobhatch29 · 16/03/2020 22:36

@Layladylay234 im keeping my children home. The head teacher was supportive and think schools will close soon anyway x

Rassy · 16/03/2020 22:44

Phew, found you all! Felt awful when I realised I posted the last comment on the old thread Blush

tobee · 16/03/2020 22:55

gingerbreadslice 😍what a gorgeous little bloke!

@Layladylay234 I don't know if you had any replies about gd? My first pregnancy, 25 years ago, I had gd. I'd never heard of it before! In my case I had to see a nutritionist a few times, go through my diet and do finger prick testing 3 times a day at home for while. They mostly just said they were checking on the babies likely weight. They stopped doing extra tests after a while. Anyway, dd is 25 in July and very fit and well as am I. No diabetes so far. She also weighed 7lb 11 oz when born. Hope this helps a bit. Obviously just my story.

Great. Glad to see new thread

xSaro · 16/03/2020 23:18

Following 😁 this thread is such a good idea! Really struggling lately with the potential lockdown in the UK. I am more afraid of having our lives so restricted than actually catching the virus. Morale is low across the world and no doubt people will start to become quite low in mood and prolonged stress isn't healthy for anyone and actually lowers the immune system further! I can't wait to get back to normal everyday life again. Life feels like hopeless lately!

gingerbreadslice · 16/03/2020 23:20

@PowerslidePanda I feel happy in the choice I'm just wondering how they will cope with not going out but the way I'm seeing it as starting the 6 weeks holiday earlier, I coped then with them I'll cope again I'm just going to order lots of little baking kits some art stuff and maybe some games for them to play with it will be fun I hope Grin

gingerbreadslice · 16/03/2020 23:22

Thank you for all the comments too on my son Smile

tobee · 16/03/2020 23:27

@AlandAnna puppies! Grin

RapidRainbow I couldn't click on that Facebook link!

Alsohuman · 16/03/2020 23:51

Oh, those puppies 😍

ExpletiveDelighted · 17/03/2020 00:24

Phew, found you all, I didn't realise the last thread was so close to filling up. I was very shaky earlier on but had some important stuff to do on the laptop which distracted me and I feel calmer now.

In positive news, my local foodbank posted today that they were really well stocked as people were being so generous.

Eebahgumlass · 17/03/2020 00:29

Hello , checking into the new thread. Let's stick together everyone.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 17/03/2020 00:36

Ohhh puppies. I only came in here for a nosy as I’m stressed to the hilt. Business is going to go under, but given that I’m a dog sitter, it would hopefully come back in a few months, when things get better.

I dropped my boy to the airport, so he should be back in England by now. ☹️ My old mil was right, “no matter how old they are, your children never stop being your children”.

When we went in, I pressed the button for the car park gate, without thinking and on the way home I scratched the inside of my ear.Shock I charged into the house and filled it with sterilising spray, meant for your hands. Then I realised that I had pressed the button with the other hand! 🤦‍♀️😳😁

Layladylay234 · 17/03/2020 05:46

tobee Thank you. I have read up on it and know quite a bit. I'd just rather be as healthy as I can at this point in time. Doesn't help that when she measured the baby using the tape measure that it looked like it was just above the 90th percentile! But when I read it,it was for height. Her dad is 6ft 3 anyway! We're going for a scan today to get a measure of expected weight and I'm going to try and meal plan for better eating whilst I wait for the diabetic team.

gingerbreadslice Gorgeous photo. Hopefully I'll have something similar and positive to post in the next few months x

HouseElfy · 17/03/2020 05:52

Checking in. Hello everyone. DH wfh as of today and I wfh anyway. Just made the decision to pull 4 year old DS out of nursery and work round him as best I can. We are in a 2 bed flat with no garden so feeling very worried about that - according to the guidance I can still take him out for walks though? We live in london so the virus will obviously be rife. Feeling very sad about it all right now. I suffer from anxiety at the best of times, particularly health anxiety.
