Would you visit a restaurant?

With the way this is all escalating, if you had arranged a family meal for Mother's Day next weekend, would you still be happy to go?

Stormy thanks for the info, you didn't have to share that if you felt it would require a namechange. Japan is not exactly exemplary though, they're insisting the olympics will go ahead aren't they?

Stormyjupiter · 15/03/2020 17:22

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily, I don't get you at all. I haven't commented anything about anyone panic buying, that is least of my worry. So having a child with multiple chronic illness which can be deadly for something like this cv, and saying I don't care about others as long as I can protect my child is being fucking cruel and ignorant to you?
you are not well. I have no clue about your dd. WTF?

DingleberryRose · 15/03/2020 17:24

I just went for an early dinner in a restaurant and the world is still spinning.

Lunafloves · 15/03/2020 17:27

I have not long come back from a meal out with my family, including my 70+ year old grandparents. We don't know who has what but when do you ever? All the staff were washing their hands constantly, doing the best they could. I think it's important to of course be mindful of what's going on but to try and carry on as normal for now. Of course, the whole situation might be completely different in a few days time. You might have the decision taken out of your hands completely if pubs/clubs etc are forced to closed.

Stormyjupiter · 15/03/2020 17:31

Yes, I totally agree, it;s all about politics and economy. But I have to admit, they are doing somethings right in regards to stop spreading the disease.
About Olympics, yes they are. And not being thinking the economy as a priority, I do hope they can go on ahead, if this has been controlled. The damage is too great, after preparing it for years, and not just as a country, but real people would suffer from it.

TabbyMumz · 15/03/2020 17:41

Went out for lunch today, the place was packed...I counted 50 people in there. Not one seemed to go to the bathroom to wash their hands before eating.

Stormyjupiter · 15/03/2020 17:52

Tabby, what's the point? So do you think as long as you don't overreact, nothing bad going to happen to you? Sad things is that is actually true. To the people who can be happy to comment like you do, you are most likely to be have no effect by this. So you will never likely to get the worry of others who have so many concerns. Lucky you.
Enjoy going out and supporting the business.

Echobelly · 15/03/2020 17:54

Went to one today, was very quiet - might not go for mother's day as might be busy, although sure will be much quieter than other mother's days.

Wouldn't be taking out any mums over 70 or with health issues.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 15/03/2020 18:05

We went to a restaurant on Thursday but we are waiting to see before deciding on going to mothers day meal.

Queenscake · 15/03/2020 18:09

No.

Stormyjupiter · 15/03/2020 18:10

It's not just government guidelines that sounds silly, people are taking this far less seriously. No wonder the virus is spreading.

Lynda07 · 15/03/2020 18:25

No, I would put off going to a restaurant until this is all over - whenever that will be.

ooooohbetty · 15/03/2020 18:30

One of my children has just today booked a restaurant for Mother's Day for me and other family. Had to pay a £50 deposit.

Stormyjupiter · 15/03/2020 18:36

oooooohbetty, I feel sorry for you, to find out one of your children is really stupid and couldn't careless about what is going on in the world.

GrumpyHoonMain · 15/03/2020 18:40

Booked my first mothers day two months ago after a long infertility battle. Am a bit gutted about having to cancel but I will - no way will I risk my vulnerable family members.

theschoolonthehill · 15/03/2020 18:42

No. I’m surprised they are even open.

mytypeonpaper · 15/03/2020 18:45

I went out last night. If we're going to be on lockdown soon I want to get out as much as possible now. I'm also very worried about small independent restaurants.

Stormyjupiter · 15/03/2020 18:53

mytypeonpaper, do you realise how silly you sounds like under the circumstances? If there are more people like you, there are no ways to stop this spreading.

AlexaAmbidextra · 15/03/2020 18:57

I have NEVER been so happy to not be living in the U.K. than I am right now!! Enjoy yer corona virus outbreak, your Nhs breakdown etc etc!!

mymymymycorona. Well with that pathetically shitty attitude I guess the rest of us are happy too.

mymymymycorona · 15/03/2020 19:13

Yes I'm the one being shitty yet half of the U.K. are acting like they are invincible and that there's no highly infectious disease going around!! But by all means yes, berate the person trying to knock some sense into them!!Confused

Stormyjupiter · 15/03/2020 19:26

No one is acting like they are invincible. Some react, some try not to think too much. It all depend on how they cope. Being out side of UK and taking a mickey, you are the worst person here. We are all worried. Great you are not in UK, lucky for you. Keep laughing. You are not a nice person. But you know that.

heavensaboveinlove · 15/03/2020 19:33

@Stormyjupiter I'm not laughing AT ALL!! Why would I laugh??!! It doesn't matter where I am? If I was in the U.K. I would also STAY HOME!! What we do now will have an impact on icu beds in 14 days time!! It's important that ppl in the U.K. know this! And please...you do not know me in the slightest! You cannot deduce what kind of a person I am by a few messages. I wasn't wishing bad on everyone in the U.K. far from it...I worry for you all tbh.

ooooohbetty · 15/03/2020 19:36

@stormyjumper oooooohbetty, I feel sorry for you, to find out one of your children is really stupid and couldn't careless about what is going on in the world.

You don't feel sorry for me so why say that? You're just being nasty. And it's 'care less'. Not careless.

Stormyjupiter · 15/03/2020 19:37

Sorry I wasn't clear, my post was not to you, it was responce to mymycorona.

Stormyjupiter · 15/03/2020 19:38

oops, sorry for my bad spag, English isn't my native language. ooohbetty.
