Wondering if it’s someone who’s started it to force the government’s hand or whether it’s actually true....

OP posts:

Flash Gordon has died though - Max von Sydow

Sugarmirror · 11/03/2020 21:00

@JustInCaseCakeHappens it’s okay they’re just going to retrospectively dedicate Cheltenham to him if this happens. That’s why they allowed it to go ahead.

Butterwhy · 11/03/2020 21:01

Are you implying that either the government or civil servants will be working on a Sunday to make an announcement? Fake news.

Dobbytheelf · 11/03/2020 21:02

I don't know anyone high up in government but I do know someone fairly not very high up in the NHS who seemed suspicious of my hopeful suggestion I must work from home for at least the next 2 weeks because I received a package from China a few weeks ago.

The80sweregreat · 11/03/2020 21:02

We just had a rendition of the final countdown here and some wine.
I do feel a bit uneasy though. None of this is good news.
Only upside is the diet has stopped. What's the point?

No, no - he was Ming the Merciless. Sam Jones was Flash.

Dobbytheelf · 11/03/2020 21:07

I bet Gordon's starting them himself, loving all the 'OMG I loved Gordon' posts that flow in. In fact is the poster who 'accidentally' started the rumour and then brought it up again now Gordon? I haven't thought about Gordon Ramsey for at least a month and now here I am, thinking about him. Well played Gordon 👏

justasking111 · 11/03/2020 21:08

Perhaps zones will be shut down as in NY.

We started "stayin in" in Greater Manchester already, there's loads of us doin it.
London is behind the times, it won't happen there as it's the centre.
they'll be the ones like in the films running around panicking, getting trampled and being worst hit.

TrainspottingWelsh · 11/03/2020 21:12

If it does, I'm going to beg, steal and borrow all the toilet roll I can get my hands on, load it on a flat bed truck and drive slowly around the perimeter, flying a banner that says 'ha ha ha'

On the plus side, if things get really dire and cannibalism becomes essential for survival, average Londoners have herds of politicians to work their way through before they need to consider the moral implications of killing and eating people.

ButterflyBitch · 11/03/2020 21:13

How can you lock down London from a practical point of view?
blow up the bridges.

Update the train timetables.

Done.

Actual snigger there but the trains don’t run on time anyway so maybe running them on time? Country screwed!

StealthPolarBear · 11/03/2020 21:13

Jellykat · 11/03/2020 21:14

I'll laugh my tits off if they DO declare a lockdown in the next 7-10 days.. they'll be a lot of hats eaten on this thread Grin

'Gordons aalliiiiiive?'

EssentialHummus · 11/03/2020 21:15

Give them all to Southern to run, that’ll sort it.

If you get ill for a couple of weeks it's good to have a few fat reserves.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 11/03/2020 21:19

Gordon is wiv da angles now
Weren’t the Angles from what is now modern day Norfolk? S’pose it’s as good a place as any for the craggy faced one to wait out this pandemic.

SweetMarmalade · 11/03/2020 21:26

I have a feeling that ‘lockdown’ could happen during the Easter break! Which is when I’m supposed to be in London!

At least we’ll have plenty of chocolate in!

The80sweregreat · 11/03/2020 21:52

I'm meant to be in Spain over Easter.,
A bit of a break. Won't happen I guess ..
On the upside the Euro football tournament may suffer .. they will have to put something else on the tv instead!

PotholeParadise · 11/03/2020 21:59

Has anyone ever seen Gordon Ramsey and Alan Sugar in the same room?

BertieBotts · 11/03/2020 21:59

I mean, realistically they should lockdown before Easter! Because people will be more likely to travel over Easter weekend. If there is any doubt then before that travel period, not after.

PotholeParadise · 11/03/2020 21:59

#JustSayin'

Smurf123 · 11/03/2020 22:04

Dermark has just announced all schools are closed with immediate effect and all day carses, public buildings eg libraries will be closed from Friday for the next 2 weeks.
They had 34 cases on Monday... They have over 500 today .. We are that far below that number in the UK.
Will be interested to see if other countries follow suit now it has been declared a pandemic.

winewolfhowls · 11/03/2020 22:07

I heard that actually Gordon had escaped to Argentina and was not in fact dead

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 11/03/2020 22:15

Omg can’t believe it about Gordon! So shocked! RIP! (Rest In Pancakes)

PotholeParadise · 11/03/2020 22:18

I heard that Gordon had found the missing bullion from the Brinks Mat robbery there, winewoldhowls.
