Nr out of loo roll. Weekly shop today. Aldi, tesco asda x2 and sainsburys had none I mean not even the cheap stuff or fancy patternwd type ones.

Luckily wilko had some.

Couldn't even get pasta, prob have to just get in costco not to bulk panic buy but in hope they have some. I just don't get it there as storage here is crap.

Infant formula, ds can only tolerate one. I norm buy 4 at a time. Struggled to get that even

Now I knew about the handwash etc and always have that anyway.
Tesco cleaning aisle was also bare except the likes of oven cleaner, polish.. Everything antibac or likewise was gone!

I just want to shop normally.

@TimeToGetMeBack try online

boringadvice · 06/03/2020 22:54

Luckily I did my shop on Monday inc toilet paper. Today the shelves are literally empty. All paracetamol gone too. I think it's really selfish.

turnandfacethenamechange · 06/03/2020 22:54

I'm off to Australia today. Both the buying band selling groups I'm in for the area have blokes on it trying to flog what theyve bulk bought from supermarkets at ridiculously inflated prices Angry

ScrapThatThen · 06/03/2020 22:55

I can't get an online shopping slot from Morrisons until Tuesday, usually on a Friday I can order for Sunday.

shortytrekker · 06/03/2020 22:56

We always were those people who ran out of loo roll. Hence me bulk buying now to try and be a bit more of a responsible adult. I've been doing it for about 6 months now to break the habit of needing an emergency loo roll shop! We don't live near a shop so it's only sensible.

Northernsoullover · 06/03/2020 22:56

Bring back the bidet I say! I know they were pooh pooed (Grin) in favour of a sleeker bathroom but oh were they handy! I went to a hotel in Spain two years ago and I was so happy!
I washed my feet, my smalls and it did its intended job after a particularly heavy night on cheap white wine. I might add that these endeavours were not simultaneous.
As for loo roll I have 30 at home. Once a bout of norovirus hits your home and you haven't stocked up, one does tend to keep a larger than average amount at home Blush

TerrorWig · 06/03/2020 22:57

Yikes.

I'm doing the Big Shop tomorrow - hope I still can!

Cadfaelfan · 06/03/2020 22:57

Loo roll is shelf stable and you're bound to use it sometime. Also coronovirus is excreted in faecal matter, as I undertand, so you probably don't want to be washing yourself off if you're sharing a shower.

themarkofthemaker · 06/03/2020 22:58

we use about 3 bog rolls a month in our house. No idea how you lot use so much, do you roleplay as Egyptian mummies or something? lol

Crinkle77 · 06/03/2020 22:58

I was disgusted to find out that my local Tesco had sold out of HP brown sauce. Thankfully I managed to snaffle the last one. Shelves depleted of loo roll but there was some in stock. No paracetamol or ibuprofen but plenty of aspirin which I prefer anyway. Plenty of everything else.

8misskitty8 · 06/03/2020 22:58

Big tesco beside me had no antibacterial wipes for surfaces, floor or toilets left. All brands not just tesco own make. 5 shelves all empty.
Toilet roll aisle was looking a bit bare but at least had some packs.

We’re in Scotland and I’m sure it will get worse as there has just been a confirmed case a few miles away.

hammeringinmyhead · 06/03/2020 22:59

In my Sainsbury's yesterday there were hastily-made A4 signs up saying no more than 2 packs of loo roll per customer, and I got one of the last 2 on the shelf. There was also nothing left in the anti-bac spray section of cleaning products.

I just think it's one of those things where people genuinely are horrified at the thought they may run out. Loo roll, milk, maybe toothpaste? I have 3 toilets and only one is in the same room as a shower so we'd have to use a hot flannel or just use one loo.

shortytrekker · 06/03/2020 22:59

@themarkofthemaker Three a MONTH? Are you all out of the house for the majority of the day, every day?

Stonerosie67 · 06/03/2020 23:00

NE Lincs here, and Aldi was really well stocked tonight, they had lots of everything in, apart from hand gel. They have started limiting the amount of hand gel you can buy, if they get any in, to two bottles per transaction which sounds really sensible to me.
My friend was in Morrison's earlier though, and said there was no loo roll, hand gel or paracetamol...just ridiculous!

sleepingpup · 06/03/2020 23:00

i don't get people not getting the loo roll thing. Hmm

Isn't it a basic, inevitable requirement????

( yes, yes I know shower, family cloth, newspaper, your hand what ever - please spare me )

If your'e feeling like shit with a virus or you're run off your feet nursing someone with a virus or you're just trapped in your house with your bloody family trying to avoid public places isn't the last thing you want to be doing is wiping your bum with your hand?

LucaFritz · 06/03/2020 23:04

Ive just placed my usual monthly shop with asda for basic things pasta, tins, bread, loo rolls etc and half of it is either unavailable or substituted already Hmm order isn't even coming till Sunday! People panic buying just makes life miserable for the rest of us

baggies · 06/03/2020 23:04

Did my weekly shop this morning at Asda Tamworth. No paracetamol on shelves but in store chemist had plenty of 32 packs. No hand sanitiser too. Plenty of loo roll, pasta and rice had fairly low stock. What I found strange was no ASDA dishwasher tablets just all the expensive stuff, similarly the antibacterial wipes.

Double3xposure · 06/03/2020 23:04

I’ve been in Asda Lidl and Aldi this week and the only thing they are out of is hand sanitiser. There’s plenty soap of all kinds, loo roll, etc

I wonder why people think liquid soap and sanitiser is somehow better at killing viruses than bar soap and water.

Paracetamol is always limited to two packs per transaction anyway.

I think some people are over reacting a teeny tiny bit.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 06/03/2020 23:05

Does no one use bogroll to blow their nose

Cherrysoup · 06/03/2020 23:05

Plenty of everything in morrisons this morning, but a mate’s dh works in one and said loo roll shelves were empty tonight.

sleepingpup · 06/03/2020 23:06

@Northernsoullover

Crying 😂😂😂👌

chomalungma · 06/03/2020 23:06

I think Saturday is going to be very very busy in the supermarkets.

Human psychology is fascinating.

NotaRealLawyer · 06/03/2020 23:06

Lancashire. I ordered my usual monthly shop delivery. It's for 2 of us so not a huge order.
It arrived this afternoon, but missing quite a few items.
No baked beans. (ordered 4 tins)
No tinned tomatoes. ( ordered 4 tins)
No kitchen roll.
No toilet roll.
No tinned ham. ( 1 tin ordered)
No frozen lamb Confused

sleepingpup · 06/03/2020 23:08

Wales here - Loo Roll cleaned out in Tescos tonight and bucking the trend - sugar.

Sleepyblueocean · 06/03/2020 23:08

The hand wash was low in stock but plenty of everything else. Someone I had a conversation with told me that dettol had coronavirus in it so she didn't get why people were buying it.
