Nr out of loo roll. Weekly shop today. Aldi, tesco asda x2 and sainsburys had none I mean not even the cheap stuff or fancy patternwd type ones.

Luckily wilko had some.

Couldn't even get pasta, prob have to just get in costco not to bulk panic buy but in hope they have some. I just don't get it there as storage here is crap.

Infant formula, ds can only tolerate one. I norm buy 4 at a time. Struggled to get that even

Now I knew about the handwash etc and always have that anyway.
Tesco cleaning aisle was also bare except the likes of oven cleaner, polish.. Everything antibac or likewise was gone!

I just want to shop normally.

No loo roll here but only popped to local coop, haven’t tried elsewhere - hope it will be delivered with food shop on Monday! Saw a guy staggering down the road with armfuls of them the other day and it took me a while to work out what it was in aid of. Totally ridiculous.

nosleepp · 06/03/2020 22:08

Everything’s still normal here

Olawisk · 06/03/2020 22:09

Everything is still normal here.

I got bleach, toilet rolls, anti bac wipes and hand soap on my normal shop today.

Serin · 06/03/2020 22:10

Worryingly there is a lack of availability of some medical equipment that should have shipped from China but hasn't.
This will mean that some people cant be discharged from hospital, leading to further bed blocking.
Shows the sorry state of manufacturing in this country I guess.

YellowOctonaut · 06/03/2020 22:11

I was in Boots earlier and a lady came in asking about hand sanitizer, apparently she wanted to "stock up just in case" and had been to every shop on the high street trying to buy some. When she was told it was out of stock, she muttered about people being ridiculous with their panic buying. The irony was clearly lost on her!

bellinisurge · 06/03/2020 22:12

Why loo roll? Because no one wants to self isolate for two weeks without being able to wipe their arse. Pretty obvious, really.

Summercat · 06/03/2020 22:12

GREAT! Another coronavirus thread FFS! Hmm

WendyImHome · 06/03/2020 22:12

My local Sainsburys today...

SunshineCake · 06/03/2020 22:14

People are buying extra loo roll in case they have to stay in for weeks.

StatisticallyChallenged · 06/03/2020 22:14

Photos from Edinburgh earlier - these shelves Normally hold the bags of pasta and rice. As I say it's localised here, 2 miles away we got basics fine, but I wouldn't assume all photos fake

Shops need to start rationing it. We needed soap for our downstairs bathroom, I usually get the fish aquarium soap dispenser thingy for the grandkids. Had to come home with a bar of pears. It's fucking ridiculous and I'd be ashamed to part of the group of idiots doing it.

Who the fuck panic buys bog roll when there is a virus sweeping 0.000000019199399934949% of the fucking population..............

Summercat · 06/03/2020 22:16

Fuck me! How much bog roll do YOU use each time you have a shit? Hmm

A pack of 9 lasts me and DH a sodding month! And like most NORMAL people, we have at LEAST 9 to 12 loo rolls in at any one time anyway. Who the fuck gets down tho their last one before getting more?

No-one, that's who.

And why the HELL do people need 50 or 60 bog rolls FFS!

Seriously, there doesn't need to be ANY extra buying of ANYTHING.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 06/03/2020 22:17

Yes, if we do it ourselves it's "stocking up". If other people do it it's "panic buying

That is what ive learnt over these many thread

Namechangexyz1 · 06/03/2020 22:17

What good is a clean arse if you have covid 19.

Of all the bloody things to panic buy. You can just hose down in a shower if you had to

AutumnRose1 · 06/03/2020 22:19

OP I’m really annoyed about this as well

I stupidly thought that Londoners would be in less of a panic because we’re so used to all sorts, but no.

Unfortunately my mum habitually runs with very little spare which I’ve told her off about many times, but she never listens!

Summercat · 06/03/2020 22:21

Interestingly, me and DH went to 3 different towns today, and around 12 different stores, (a Lidl, an Aldi, 2 Tescos, 2 Sainsburys, 2 Asdas, an Iceland, 2 Morrisons, and a Waitrose, and every single one had fairly plentiful supplies of everything.

Only hand gels were a bit short, and some of the shelves were about 15% empty, but we needed 40 different individual shopping items today, and got every single last one.

I am totally not seeing the hysteria near me at all. And like some other posters here, I have not met a single person in real life who is worried about it. Not one.

Summercat · 06/03/2020 22:22

SORRY, me and DH have been to a dozen different stores in 3 towns this WEEK, not just today!

Deux · 06/03/2020 22:22

I’m a normal person, as are my friends, and none of us has a stash of loo rolls because we all have weekly grocery deliveries so no need to stash them. I often get down to one roll in each loo but we have multiple grocery stores in a 2 mile radius from which to purchase from the usually plentiful stock.

We are a household of 4 and have 3 toilets and go through about 9 rolls in 2 weeks.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 06/03/2020 22:22

Just about to say summer

Thought you might have been supermarket inspectors Grin

Summercat · 06/03/2020 22:23

Also, the 40 different shopping items were bought this week, not just today.

Phifedean123 · 06/03/2020 22:23

Still fine in Liverpool as of now

Summercat · 06/03/2020 22:23

Summercat · 06/03/2020 22:24

I am in West Midlands by the way.

Leithwalk · 06/03/2020 22:24

North Yorks/Humber - no hand sanitizer, anti bac soap or wipes, paracetamol nor loo roll - I've looked since last weekend.

FragrantLikeRice · 06/03/2020 22:25

Was plenty of loo roll at the Tesco Express near me. Even the big 9 packs.

Wasn't aware the shits was a symptom of coronavirus but learning something new every day.
