ofwarren. You are the most knowledgeable person I’m familiar with on this thread (Based on your timely updates!)

Do you have any detail on the Essex case? I have poorly relatives there who are not particularly online savvy and I’m wondering if I should warn them to take precautions.

ofwarren · 02/03/2020 13:51

It's in Harlow stircrazy

Hugglespuffed · 02/03/2020 13:52

What website gets updated at 2pm every day? And where can I find the live website please?

anywinewilldonow · 02/03/2020 13:53

One of the Hertfordshire cases is Harpenden (from Herts Advertiser)

LangClegsInSpace · 02/03/2020 13:53

I wonder what the self isolation plan is for people who have home carers?

ofwarren · 02/03/2020 13:53

The department of health Twitter and Facebook release the results of the UK cases at 2pm every day

FlyingNorth · 02/03/2020 13:54

Re the WHO's advice for over 60s to avoid crowded places, they have not mentioned that many over 60s work in crowded places (despite being, you know, elderly Wink). If this becomes official guidance I hope this is acknowledged.

Springinsight · 02/03/2020 13:54

Checking in for the 2pm update. Confused

What on the earth will today bring us.
I'm as prepped as I can be. Nealry full tank of petrol, I very self consciously wore a glove to fill up.
Of course holding the petrol handle is another huge contact point.
Big shop arriving tomorrow

SistemaAddict · 02/03/2020 13:54

I've stress eaten too much chocolate and feel sick now 😩

EnidBlyton · 02/03/2020 13:55

masks for sale in my local chemist,

GPwife2411 · 02/03/2020 13:56

I've requested that links are added to the original thread and added a couple of my own to Lancet and JAMA coronavirus hubs which are very helpful (when not on mat leave I am an academic)

good point about the petrol handle

GPwife2411 · 02/03/2020 13:56

The original post I mean!

Me too, diet was going to start on first and all I’ve done is stress eating

Dannn · 02/03/2020 13:56

Been following these threads - thanks for all the information. I am a HCP and am fairly worried, we have had almost no communication from work regarding the virus despite 2 colleagues who recently travelled to northern Italy currently self isolating for 2 weeks. I imagine there are far more cases in the UK than already diagnosed and numbers will increase significantly over the coming days.

Spacecadetagain · 02/03/2020 13:56

I’ve just done a big Ocado online shop . Tins . Bread . Milk toilet roll etc etc . Stuff for the freezer and cupboards . Noted with interest all hand wash liquids and antibacterial hand gel out of stock . I am divorced and DCS father lives four hours away so I’ve decided to make sure we are prepared now .

Daily update here but it's probably in the first post as well

YouAreTheEggManIAmTheWalrus · 02/03/2020 13:56

I stupidly just had a look on twitter. In amongst the crap though are a whole lot of angry US citizens, understandably so. If we think its been mismanaged here in the UK, well its not a patch on the complete cock up made over there. Add to that all the initial dysfunctional tests, then a $3k dollar cost to citizens for said test, a president crying “hoax”.. it all really doesn’t bear thinking about and almost makes me grateful for Bozza.

EveLevine · 02/03/2020 13:57

Thanks @Choux. I really hope we don't too, but one thing I've learnt as the mum of an SN child, is its better to think worst case and prepare for it, so that DC can be warned and prepped in advance, than to just muddle along assuming we'd cope somehow, because that leads to meltdowns.

DS would be far more distressed by being away from us than by having to eat cold food for a few days. We have an older DC too, and assuming that they are not ill, they could prepare simple meals like soup, noodles etc, so this really is worst case planning for us.

Glittercandle · 02/03/2020 13:58

The Harpenden patient went to the GP so the whole surgery had to be deep cleaned.

RhodaCamel · 02/03/2020 13:59

stircrazyschoolmum I live in in Essex. Our local newspapers are saying the person from Essex is currently in a Harlow hospital but they won’t say where in Essex they reside, I’m worried as they say they have no idea how they got it!

Springinsight · 02/03/2020 13:59

Trump and the US is going to be compared to the China response

SisterAgatha · 02/03/2020 14:00

40 is that? I don’t think that’s such bad news really.

FourTeaFallOut · 02/03/2020 14:01

Ok. Forty positive cases now, I guess I was expecting worse.
