Conflict in the Middle East

Feel like once the hostages are handed over Israel will start bombing again

It seems too good to be true, a final end to the war.

After all the plans that were announced with regards to annexation and the Israeli far-right government members, I can’t help but feel that once all of the hostages are released Israel will go ham on Gaza.

There will be nothing to stop them bombing everywhere.

No hostages to avoid bombing.

No families pleading with the Israeli ministers.

Israel has broken so many ceasefires and this was with the hostages lives at stake.

I don’t know, but I can’t celebrate with everyone as I don’t believe it will last and my heart says that’s it’s going to get worse.

I just saw a post on X where someone claimed that some of the Palestinian prisoners being exiled after their release is all part of Israel’s plan to ethically cleanse Gaza.
Seems to be the latest narrative.
I’ve checked the numbers, looks like only around 174 people in total have been exiled - 154 from the group of 250 serving life sentences for terrorism-related offences and 20 additional detainees.

I’m sure it’s doing the citizens of Gaza a favour exiling these particular people.

I'm not going to take any claims seriously now unless credible evidence is included.

Very wise, so much fake news. I'm waiting for BBC Verify.
I'm certainly not going to trust X or TikTok!

It's tricky as the BBC gets it wrong too, like forgetting to mention that a released Palestinian prisoner orchestrating the blowing up of several people. That kind of thing.
Honestly I'd be happy with an X link even rather than trust me bro.

The BBC do sometimes get it wrong. True. However, I would trust them over some random on X.

SpaceRaccoon · 14/10/2025 15:05

Some X accounts are more credible than others. I mean the BBC posts on X.

On the other side, that haven't need that the 'trials' for those guys often involve evidence adduced under torture, and huge issues of unfairness. Undoubtedly many are guilty, but many won't be. They are not fair trials.

Oh sorry, I understand. No, you are right. I thought some unverified poster. As you were.

Are people talking about this? It’s what’s happening rn

Yes. Crazy bunch, absolutely crazy. Animals. Feel so sorry for the poor people of Palestine, what chance have they got.

In July 2024, Likud party member Hanoch Milwidsky stated in the Knesset that it was "legitimate" to engage in acts of sexual violence, such as inserting a stick into a person's rectum, if that person was a Hamas militant
.
Context of the comments

  • The incident occurred during a heated debate in the Knesset regarding alleged abuse of Palestinian prisoners at the Sde Teiman detention facility.
  • Milwidsky's comments were made in defense of soldiers accused of mistreating Palestinian detainees.
  • When asked by an Arab Knesset member if such an act was legitimate, Milwidsky reportedly shouted, "Yes! If he is a Nukhba [Hamas militant], everything is legitimate to do! Everything!".

To be fair I don’t give a shit what they do to Hamas members in jail. If putting a stick up their arse makes them give up information which could save lives, so be it.

I very much doubt that has ever happened though.

IIRC these claims of male sexual abuse came out after reports that male victims of Oct 7th had been raped and sexually tortured in EXACTLY THE SAME WAY on Oct 7th!

www.timesofisrael.com/male-october-7-survivor-recounts-rape-at-hands-of-hamas-terrorists/amp/

As is said regarding this particular conflict, every accusation is a confession.

Yeah seems like Israelis don't care either which is why they are still paying his wages. Like I said there is lots to suggest that child sex abuse in prisons would be covered up by Israelis. The general attitude towards sex crimes against Palestinians is appalling. Just like the general attitude towards starving Palestinians children and burning them alive in their homes, that's what radicalisation does to people unfortunately and the innocent, like the children abused in Israeli detention suffer because of it.

That’s a difficult one. It’s going to take some honesty about Hamas.

Hamas are showing who they are, killing Palestinians who aren't behind them. They are going nowhere. They are shouting triumphantly. I mean seriously, do they not care that people have died for their stupid terrorist attack/jolly (as they filmed it as such). They just hide away and wait it out then kill many (just blame it all on Israel?). They won't get condemned then by pro pal 👍

Twiglets1 · 15/10/2025 09:48

Thread title would have been more accurate if it said Feel like once the hostages are handed over and the IDF retreat, Hamas will start killing other Palestinians again.

I think it'll be both, the innocent citizens will be bullied and shot by both Hamas and the IDF.
If Hamas don't surrender the weapons, I suspect they won't.
American soldiers are the best option on foot, if possible.
Save as many citizens from death.

US soldiers would be effective but politically tricky. Domestically voters might not want it.

IDF could but perhaps Israel don’t want to get into the cycle of blame either.

Who wants to deal with Hamas?

I think most people are interested in what’s happening in Gaza with Hamas, you’d have to be very committed to deflect away from that.

Who wants to deal with Hamas?

Why not Arab Muslim nations?

Westerners do it = mass condemnation

Israel do it = rise in antisemitism and condemnation

Palestinians either cannot (any opposition to Hamas gets executed by Hamas) or some Palestinians don't want Hamas to go = more terrorist attacks on Israel and cycle continues

Arab Muslim nations = whos going to condemn them. Why WON'T they step up and help a fellow middle-east country? Why is it left to.orhers? Don't they have soldiers who could uphold peace.

Its easy to moan about whichever country or countries try.

It is and given Hamas propaganda they get world support instead. Idk why re your last question but I don’t blame anyone saying no we’re not doing it.

Hamas hiding in booby trapped tunnels ready to use whatever barbaric method.

I do actually agree, no one wants the awful task of getting rid of Hamas. I think there amongst other middle east countries was relief that the IDF tried since no one else wanted the task. Obviously, the scale of destruction shows they move around and hide then pop up, then hide then pop up...guerilla warfare is immensely difficult.

So if no one does it, they remain in power. Rinse and repeat. I'd want a buffer zone and a very big wall.

OnTheRoof · 15/10/2025 11:12

Agreed. I wish for the sake of the Gazans that a pan Arab force to keep order after a disarmed Hamas was a possibility, but can see why none of them fancy it. It's also pretty obvious some Arab countries have been relieved and indeed actively (if quietly) supportive of some of the things Israel has done over the last couple of years.

Yep but also some incredible camera work and monitoring because a wall won’t stop tunnels

TomeTome · 15/10/2025 11:57

I think everyone is praying that Israel will stop and Palestine can be given resources and time to find its feet. It will be a miracle if Netanyahu stops though. Is the aide getting in again?
