You are so much kinder than i am

I honestly think a lot of people will cling to any narrative that shields them from facing the full horror of what’s happening.

As a professional we are taught to examine the evidence and use critical thinking. I suggest you do the same.

Hamiltonfan · 19/08/2025 11:02

Critical thinking. Where do they get this information from? Oh yes a terror group (who quietly change the number of dead on their records on a regular basis).
War is awful. People die. But that's what happens when you unleash terror on a music festival and a kibbutz.

Absolutely 🙂 critical thinking and examining evidence is exactly what I’m doing.

I’m citing reports from verified humanitarian organisations, medical professionals, and on-the-ground journalists. That’s how I’ve reached my conclusions about what’s happening in Gaza.

I also have direct knowledge of medical facts regarding child malnutrition, which helps me understand why children show signs of severe starvation much faster than adults.

I’m not making deductions entirely on some hacked instagram accounts to spread false narratives. I rely on verified, on-the-ground sources and medical facts to understand the situation.

Oh ok. That degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Kings College London never happened. Silly me. Nor did the 18 years worth of work I've done in the NHS and NGOs since qualifying.
I have a very basic insta profile which is hardly used and has no list of my qualifications or history. Grow up.

I can safely assume it didn’t, given your lack of knowledge.

I can only comment on what you’ve said about child malnutrition- based on the medical evidence, children do visibly deteriorate much faster than adults under severe food deprivation, which doesn’t align with your claim.

Removing Hamas doesn't seem to be the main focus of many people. There has been a reluctance (on MN as well as elsewhere) to blame Hamas as much as Israel.

How do people who disagree with Israel's war against Hamas think they will get rid of them? (swap war for genocide if you prefer, don't want to get mired in that debate again).

It's not that I like groups being at war, I very much don't. But I've yet to see a viable suggestion for how else Israel could rid Gaza of Hamas.

Personally, I hope Netanyahu accepts the latest ceasefire proposal and that as part of that deal, Hamas leaders agree to leave Gaza. But they definitely wouldn't have agreed those terms before the war escalated to this awful point, in fact they had rejected the same terms just last month.

My priority is removing thee government that has made it clear that it intends to commit genocide AND is committing genocide AND is the direct cause of most of the civilians deaths at present AND has nukes AND a member of their government has suggested using them. Hamas with. Their very limited military capabilities are small fry in comparison.

I really hope you have never worked for an aid organisation. You don’t seem to understand the basics of what happens when a population is starving. You shouldn’t be let near an underweight child.

It doesn’t show their instagram name to me but Mumsnet will remove the post if requested by the poster. Probably best anyway as it is proven to be propaganda

As a general rule: when sharing links good practice is to remove the "?" and anything after it. The link will still work but will be stripped of additional information not required for sharing.

I might not always agree with everyone here but: no reason for anyone to doxx themselves.

Im not sure why some of my comments have been deleted.

I cant find this exact place but i see the Metro Mall referred to on Al-Shuhada street. It says it is located west of metro mall. The whole street is destroyed.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/mMrtFfvQv89zNvVu8

The instagram is obviously trolling - 'if you are a student or freelancer and need a place to concentrate' - all universities and schools are destroyed .

I hope you do take a good look at the images on google maps satellite and question your acceptance of this obvious lies and propaganda.

Anymore links you can send?

I’m kind of fascinated that people have gone to so much trouble to fake that there is food in Gaza. I mean one restaurant being open wouldn’t tell you very much anyway.

It does make you wonder what else has been falsified.

BelleHathor · 19/08/2025 12:36

Exactly, it's important to always be sceptical, the Israeli government has whole military units dedicated to appearing to be "Arab" and carrying out operations.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mista%27arvim

Historically during the King David Hotel bombings in 1946, the Jewish Militia who set off the bombs "dressed as Arabs" so that Palestinians could be blamed.

The same thing happened during a number of bombings on American and British sites in Egypt during the 1950s https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavon_Affair

Additionally during the 1967 war, Israeli planes bombed and napalmed an American spy ship the USS Liberty killing 30+ Americans. Israel later "claimed" that they mistook the plane for an Egyptian ship, however through the years some soldiers on board the Liberty (Phil Tourney) have maintained that the attacks were likely deliberate and designed to sink the Liberty.

Good old Google earth is still showing Gaza as an intact area with no destruction whatsoever. I expect it'll remain that way until it's rebuilt.

Nothing to see here, folks.

Yes ...but what has that my opinion on ceasefire terms got to do with Hamas or Netanyahu agreeing them?
