How is forced starvation allowed?

1000 replies

Tinycatnoise · 23/07/2025 22:28

The top story in the BBC right now is the starvation of Gazans by Israel. The images are horrifying and not dissimilar to seeing those images of concentration camps in Nazi Germany. I cried seeing those and am crying now. I am sure someone will claim antisemitism because of this statement, but anyone looking at these images of starving children would agree.

How is this still going on? I feel like we are watching a genocide take place that the world has turning a blind eye to. The daily shooting by Israel of people trying to get aid too is just barbaric. If nothing is being done to stop this, what is the next horror that will unfold in the world that people will just accept?

They certainly are.

Then how come there are plenty of posts on here criticising Israel that haven't been deleted and that no one has described as anti semetic?

Bumble6 · 24/07/2025 08:39

Flumpflimpo · 24/07/2025 08:31

As i said "antisemetic" always gets thrown out on these threads,

when certain posters can't think of a way to defend Israel's brutal actions of genocide.

Its so utterly predictable.

People like you do yourself no favours. You say all Jews in Israel have been infected and are abusive because what happened to their ancestors...this is blatant antisemitism for all to see. Do you blame all Palestinians because of Hamas?
The threads then become a confusion of talking about Gaza and people having to call out antisemitism when it's obviously there. If people like you managed to talk about the gaza situation without mentioning the holocaust (apparently that's the only event in the history of mankind where lots of innocent children have died) or blatant antisemitism, maybe proper discussions about the horror that is happening could take place.

I wasnt talking about my posts @DustyTangerine .

If you look at any threads about the Israel/ Gaza conflict on mumsnet, as soon as anyone (not just me) criticises Israel, they are called antisemetic.

Its so predictable on every thread, that people just ignore it.

Oh we know you ignore it; it won't stop us from saying it. Ask yourself why deleted posts are represented from one set of commentators. Fortunately @MNHQ are taking this seriously.

Comedycook · 24/07/2025 08:41

As it's extremely difficult for you to understand ..I will give you a hypothetical example of what is and isn't acceptable...

Acceptable
I think what the Israeli government is doing in Gaza is absolutely terrible

Unacceptable
I think what the Israeli government is doing in Gaza is absolutely terrible... you'd think they'd know better considering what they went through in the holocaust.

Hth.

Ok but I am talking about your posts, which are problematic. Interesting that you didn’t deny it in the context of yourself though

Deleted posts happen because people report to get them removed.

I havent reported any posts, (i could do) but i prefer to leave the entire discussion standing.

Shani Louk's murder - "when I saw it on the news". Shani was a young woman, who was taken from the Nova festival, murdered, had her legs folded under her semi naked body and paraded around in a truck. She was spat on and the Gazan. crowd celebrated. As she was Israeli, a passing comment about her death will suffice. Then these posters wonder why they are called antisemitic.

That was awful.

But can you explain why you are upset at her death, and you are not upset at the pictures of the dying children in Gaza?

It doesnt really make sense...

Blaming all Israeli Jews like you did in your first post that has been deleted is antisemitic. As you haven't answered my last post, please explain how it is not?

No. Don't twist things to suit your narrative thst every criticism if Israel is deemed antisemitic. You said yiu knew all the people who brutalised Shani Louk were Hamas. And you have revealed that your only evidence is 'the news'. To my knowledge the news established no such thing and all the news I have seen an read makes it clear there was pretty widespread support and engagement. How you defune Hamas is pretty difficult. But you have no way of knowing that all those people were Hamas operatives and there is no evidence that they were

Dangermoo · 24/07/2025 08:52

There are two posters I am now refusing to have any further engagement with. Their agenda is transparent.

I didn't report it. I hoped everyone would get to see what you posted, hence my first reply to you.
Harassing you? By replying to your posts?
Maybe you should concentrate on the actual situation in Gaza instead of spewing hatred towards jews and saying they are 'infected'

Psychicpineapple · 24/07/2025 09:09

Regardless of who did what those babies and children are entirely innocent.

Innocent children, babies. Skeletal, starving to death. No child on earth is worth less than another. There is no 'but Hamas' argument that makes it justified. How could there be.

This.

The Israeli government are a disgrace. As are those who support their actions which is leading to children and babies starving to death.

it breaks my heart that innocent children have been killed in Gaza and are now starving.
However, every statement about October 7th is met with an implied justification by those who condemn Israel.
It’s utterly disgusting. And probably doing nothing to help resolve the conflict.

Ariel and Kfir Bibas were killed with bare hands.
It takes a special kind of evil to kill a baby that you’ve taken hostage and should be protecting.
I’m not Jewish but I can’t describe the visceral reaction I have to the people that could do this.
As you say, no child is worth more than another.

It is indeed evil to kill children that way but it is also a special kind of evil to sit in safety and orchestrate the slow, inhumane deaths of children.
There is no non-evil way to kill the innocent.

They only get deleted if the MN mods agree with thosereporting it that the post breaks their talk guidelines.

On these threads a lot of posts get deleted for personal attacks and some for hate speech.

The worst posts always get reported. Whether you personally report them is irrelevant. Others will do if they very obviously break talk guidelines.

This isn’t the first man made famine in history, but it is absolutely shocking to see happening in 2025.

Things are happening across the world which many (myself included), had naively spent many years believing were consigned to history.

The human propensity towards abject cruelty towards each other is something that will never change, it seems.

Do you not think it stakes a special kind of evil to slowly starve children to death? This has been building for months and months, the Israeli government knew that this is what would happen and they kept on going. They have drones everywhere in Gaza, they have been monitoring these children becoming weaker and sicker, they've been watching it all closely and they kept on going. Purposeful starvation closely supervised by the Israeli government.

The important questions here is why the UN is refusing to deliver aid into Gaza. Does anyone know why? I read somewhere that the UN is refusing because they would have to do it under the supervision of the GHF, which for some reason they don't agree with. Bear in mind that it's the UN who simply delivered all their previous aid to Hamas.
