The Israeli army are using aid centres as target practice.

The Israeli government is proposing building a 'refugee' centre in Rafah with an extra special feature - no one is allowed to leave.

Agreed. It 's obvious that they find taking hostages acceptable when they're ones doing it.

New footage has emerged in the killing of seven-month-old Palestinian Sam Abu Haikal in the occupied West Bank. The video, released by Israeli human rights group B’Tselem, appears to show the family's car slowing to a stop before an Israeli soldier opens fire.

. 'Another Gaza': Israel is destroying entire villages in southern Lebanon

ITV News' James Mates speaks to people from southern Lebanon who say that what Israel is repeating what it has done in Gaza in their communities
Additional reporting by ITV News Content Editor Jessica Omari
What we saw in southern Lebanon did not look like acts of war, carried out in the heat of battle.
This was the deliberate, systematic destruction of whole Lebanese villages in the name of fighting Hezbollah

With each passing week, more and more of southern Lebanon is left looking like a desolate landscape.
A white wall marks the border: on one side we saw pristine and untouched Israeli homes; on the other, just rubble.
What Israel has done in Gaza, it proudly says it is doing in Lebanon.

Homes have been reduced to rubble along Lebanon's border with Israel.Credit: ITV News
Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz summed up his plans in March by saying: “All the houses in the villages close to the border would be demolished, according to the model of Beit Hanoun and Rafah in Gaza strip.”

We travelled as far south as we could safely go in Lebanon, to the Abbasiyah Intersection in Tyre - anything travelling further south is subject to attack.

The world is not allowed to see anything the Israeli military is doing further south, exactly as happened in Gaza.

So, the evidence we have is what we can collect from phone footage and eyewitness accounts.
In the village of Mays al Jabal not a house remains standing.

Lubnan told us there was no fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in the house or in the area. But he said the house was still detonated.
“There were bombs put there and then the explosion happened,” he told us,
Now a refugee in Beirut, the next time she saw it was on a video sent to her phone, surrounded by Israeli troops.
A satellite picture now reveals all that is left of her village of Beit Lif. A moonscape. The homes of 7,000 people bulldozed out of existence – 7,000 stories, each as painful as Sara’s.

“None of the houses are still standing, even the hospital, the school and the municipal buildings,” she said, “as soon as this started, I asked myself, is this another Gaza happening here in Lebanon?”

How can people return to this?

There are powerful voices in Israel urging that 600,000 people never be allowed back to live here.
That is the abiding dread of the three who told us their story, three voices who speak for so many.’

TAYBEH BURNING: ISRAELI SETTLERS SET CHRISTIAN VILLAGE ALIGHT, IMPEDE FIREFIGHTERS
12 June 2026
By Fr. Bashar Fawadleh, parish priest, Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Taybeh, Palestine
(from Development and Peace Caritas Canada )

Across the illegally occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers invade villages, grab land, disrupt livelihoods and assault Palestinians with impunity, usually with state support. Settlers and soldiers have killed more Palestinians over the past three years than over the preceding 17 combined. Just since January 2025, they have conducted over 2,500 attacks; razed more than 2,100 structures, including over 600 homes; and displaced nearly 40,000 people.

Earlier this week, they came for Taybeh. It was not the first time they targeted this last remaining all-Christian settlement of Palestine. In July 2025, Israeli settlers had similarly spread terror in the town, prompting the priests of its three churches to release a statement that was republished on our website. Fr. Bashar Fawadleh had also during a webinar that Development and Peace ― Caritas Canadahad organized last year.

Fr. Bashar’s statement on this latest attack highlights how ineffective Canada’s response to West Bank settler expansionism has been. Content to join peer countries in issuing the occasional mild condemnation or some very limited sanctions,

TAYBEH UNDER ATTACK: LIVE FIRE AND ASSAULTS AMID EFFORTS TO CONTAIN AN ARSON BLAZE
2026-06-10
Yesterday evening, Tuesday at approximately 8:30 p.m., we were subjected to yet another attack―one that was complex, alarming, and difficult to comprehend or justify.
The events began with a fire being deliberately set across a large area of Jabal Al-Masis, opposite the fuel station. Palestinian firefighting crews were initially prevented from reaching the site due to the absence of the necessary security coordination, allowing the fire to spread and threaten surrounding land and property.

In response to this danger, a group of young men from the town volunteered to assist in extinguishing the fire by bringing a water tanker to the area. Instead of being allowed to carry out this humanitarian effort, they were surrounded and obstructed by settlers.
The situation then escalated further when another group of young men was attacked.
Several individuals were physically assaulted, two vehicles were damaged, and a mobile phone was stolen.
Most alarming of all, live fire was directed at us on three separate occasions during these events.

Such actions represent a grave escalation that endangered civilian lives and spread fear among the residents of our community.
The fire was eventually brought under control only after the required coordination procedures were completed, enabling Palestinian firefighters to access the area, and with the arrival of the Israeli police, preventing the blaze from spreading further.

What we are experiencing is not a series of isolated incidents, but an ongoing pattern of intimidation and unjustified violence that undermines our fundamental right to safety, security, and dignity. The people of Taybeh, like all people everywhere, seek only to live peacefully on their land, free from fear and repeated attacks.

We therefore call upon the international community, friendly nations, human rights organizations, churches, and humanitarian institutions to assume their moral and legal responsibilities and take meaningful action to stop the escalating attacks against Taybeh and its residents.

Taybeh, a town of profound historical and spiritual significance, known as the only remaining entirely Christian Palestinian town in the West Bank and home to the descendants of the first believers in Christ’s message, deserves protection, dignity, and peace—not fear, intimidation, and recurring violence.
Our message is simple and clear: we want to live in peace. We want our children to grow up in safety and our families to enjoy a normal life, just like people everywhere else in the world. This is a basic human right that must be respected and protected.’

The West Bank and Jerusalem are home to around 50,000 Palestinian Christians, members of a religious community there stretching back to antiquity in a region that is home to many of the faith's most important holy sites.
Taybeh is one of the only Christian villages remaining in the West Bank and was visited last year by the Greek Orthodox patriarch and the Roman Catholic cardinal of Jerusalem.

Protesters attacked, arrested in London demo against Great Israeli Real Estate event

Pro-Palestine protesters demonstrating against the 'Great Israeli Real Estate Event' on Sunday have been attacked by counterprotesters in Northwest London's Edgware, with police arresting activists.

Protesters were attacked while they were on their way to the demonstration, according to The New Arab's journalist Kitty Grant, who was present at the scene and described scenes of chaos.

Grant said counterprotesters went up to the activists after crossing over Edgware road, where the protest was being held, and began shouting, shoving and hitting the demonstrators.
"The pro-Palestine protesters were completely peaceful, just walking. They came up to them [and] started attacking them," she said, noting the counterprotesters appeared to be targeting pro-Palestine visibly Jewish men.

She also noted that London's MET police carried out a wave of arrests, of both pro-Palestine activists and counterprotesters.

The Met police later said on X that six protesters have been arrested for public order offences, and that Edgware rd was being temporarily closed.

Footage of the protest seen by The New Arab shows police pinning peaceful protesters to the ground while some held posters that read "thou shall not steal" and waved the Palestinian flag.
'Apartheid and annexation'

The protest comes following mass condemnation of the event's links to illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank.

The real estate event is one of a series of international conferences of its kind, marketing property in the occupied West Bank, and has been described as "apartheid and annexation with a sales pitch" by Amnesty International UK.

The event was held at the Edgware United Synagogue at midday and called on attendees to find their "dream home" and register interest in the Gush Etzion Israeli settlement, which the UK government considers to be illegal.
Jeanine Hourani from the Palestinian Youth Movement, one of the groups participating in the protest, told The New Arab that the protest took place because the event has not been cancelled, despite widespread calls to do so within the UK.
This includes demands for cancellation from over 100 MPs, who said in a letter to Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper that allowing the event to go ahead would be inconsistent with government policy and run counter to the country's international legal obligations.
"Over the last three years, Israel has attempted to make genocide the new normal and people of conscience around the world refused," Hourani said.
"Today, they are trying to make the selling of our homeland normal, and so we must also refuse," she added.

The New Arab reached out to Edgware United Synagogue for comment, but did not receive a response by the time of publication.

London mayor slams event
London Mayor Sadiq Khan, alongside human rights groups, also condemned the event. During Mayor's Question Time on Friday, he decried Israeli settlements as "unjustifiable and illegal under international law".
The International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network will also protest the event, set to be held at the crossroads of Broadhurst Avenue and Edgware Way.

Earlier this week, the CEO of one of the event's main sponsors, the Emanuel Group, revealed a list of the companies participating in the event in a post on Facebook. The list includes several real estate companies involved in illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank.
This includes Harey Zahav, which advertises property in the settlement of Negohot, the Meshulam Levinstein Group, which has built residential and commercial projects in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem, and Tivuch Shelly real estate agency, which advertises property in the settlement of Ma'ale Adunim.

The synagogue has been issued a legal notice by the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP), which said on X: "Our letter warns the venue of several legal and reputational risks and calls on them to cancel the event immediately."

The ICJP warned that though the synagogue may not be involved in the event's organisation, "hosting the event would inevitably facilitate its operation and confer legitimacy upon it."
The ICJP also said that there are both legal and commercial risks if businesses engage in activity related to illegal settlements, based on UK government guidance.
Israeli settlements are illegal under international law, as is Israel's occupation of the West Bank, according to the International Court of Justice.
The UK, Australia, Canada, France and Norway issued sanctionsagainst "networks" financing and facilitating violent settler attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank on 9 June, though many rights groups say the sanctions don't go far enough.’

I just saw it there too @Boolabus . I was genuinely shocked by the venom and vitriol these people had in their faces and their words. They were literally the very definition of a hate march.

If " from the river to the sea" is considered a genocidal chant I wonder what posters would make of "Palestine doesn't exist we squashed it" "There is no Palestine we've flattened it"

Ellen2shoes · 14/06/2026 20:56

I can’t think why this event was allowed to proceed. The hypocrisy is evident in its conception, and following in the footsteps of recent terrorist settler sanctions, was made glaringly so. Unwise, to put it mildly.

Whereas from the river to the sea has been chanted by many as a slogan to end occupation, rather than an end to the existence of Israel, there was no ambiguity to those chants today.

(Worth adding that thankfully the chanters were a minority and of course they are by no means representative of the Jewish community in the UK, most of whom oppose settler policy and see it as an obstacle to peace).

Completely twisting the narrative and not even attempting to address the reason for the protest. I would actually suggest it is gaslighting. From stirabouts post above

The ICJP warned that though the synagogue may not be involved in the event's organisation, "hosting the event would inevitably facilitate its operation and confer legitimacy upon it."

Maybe the Board of Deputies of British Jews should be advising Synagogues not to host such events to ensure there will be no protests outside them which could result in British Jews getting harassed which, as we are lead to believe, the majority do not support illegal settlements.

Agree

If an auction house was selling off stolen art the police would stop it and make arrests

No sign of police stopping the sale of stolen property today in fact quite the opposite
I see online the police were lined up protecting the sale and hence allowing it to go ahead … the U.K. are complicit !!!

Meanwhile the London Mayor was spotted releasing some wildlife somewhere
I mean I’m a vegetarian so well done him but there’s a time and a place and he’s in the wrong one !

I wish it had been cancelled. Aside from the premise, it created a difficult situation for the community and venue was upsettingly divisive.
