Do you expect the spokesman of the families forum for the hostages and missing people to lie to a national Israeli newspaper ?

I thought he resigned several months ago?

I think Qatar has seen clearly enough that they are at serious risk of being bombed themselves if they have Hamas leaders on their ground, so they did state that they were changing their position on the conflict, after the Iran-Israel exchanfes. I think they referred to no longer keeping Hamas in.
I would not do it. I would chuck them out of my country. I would not risk getting involved in the military conflict itself.

They are harbouring terrorists/terrorist leaders. They could chuck them out so they stand trial for their crimes?

Which is also discussed in the interview.

I've no idea how much he knew about what was offered and his take on that , anymore than anyone. He didn't expand on what was offered in detail just that he heard Much later that there was an offer to release on 7 or 8th. No terms of what that entailed.

Would you trust Hamas and not retaliate since hamas also said, we didn't take all the hostages, others groups did and we don't know where they all are or have access to them, so a pointless offer which they knew they couldn't uphold anyway.

For example, whoever would be so stupid to believe they could release hostages they didn't have, or held by other groups or held by random Palestinian people, when they don't know where they are. Hamas are great at deflection of blame.

I imagine any 'offer' was taken for what it appears, a tactic to avoid a retaliation. They couldn't actually release all of them anyway if they didn't hold all of them 🤷

Makes no sense therefore to use this as a 'they could all be home if...' might as well say 'they would all be home if they were never taken in the first place'.

I feel sorry for him.

The conflic started by Hams would soon stop if all hostages were released and Hamas operatives arrested and their leader were taken out

The people of Gaza and Israel then could live a peaceful life

Aslo remove the settlers from the west bank

Once the above, ie conflict stops Israelis leader will soon be ejected

The people in Gaza are going to struggle to live a peaceful life.

Tens of thousands of them are dead.
Tens of thousands more are severely injured.
Their homes and infrastructure have been destroyed.

And as has been explained multiple times, even the release of all hostages today wouldn't prevent the plans for the assault on Rafah. The only hope is for a ceasefire/truce deal.

18th of April, you will see Qatar statements re-evaluating their mediator role. Just search in google.
1-2 days ago, news say they stay commited to the mediations.
But I do think they have twisted all arms they can twist at this point, most likely under US pressure too.
I really think that they will ask them to leave their land once the negotiations are over. To keep them in their soil is too much risk for themselves, I think.

Thanks. I hope they ask them to leave.
