Where the hell are all the Palestinians meant to go now?
They were TOLD to go to Rafah, that Rafah was a safe place.
It’s just open extermination at this point.

Hamas could surrender, or hand back the hostages

Should Israel hand back the thousands of innocent Palestinian hostages too? Or does it only work one way?

According to Irish news this morning they are being evacuated to a "humanitarian area" in Rafah

RTE news : Israel calls on civilians to evacuate parts of Rafah

Think we all know this is not about the hostages, if it was Israel would not have let the ceasefire negotiations fail. Netanyahu has already stated he'd go into Rafah regardless. Yes absolutely the hostages should be released but even if that happens Rafah will still be invaded

Hmm, how does this work for all the civilians? They don’t have any control over Hamas and they don’t have the ability to “hand back the hostages”.

If we could turn back time, would the right thing to do have been for the UK government to bomb the hell out of Northen Ireland and kill everyone last one of them… as that is where the IRA were based? Even though the ordinary people had no control over the IRA?

nomoretreats · 06/05/2024 09:21

Truly horrific and world leaders continue to watch and do nothing.

😢😢😢😢

TwilightSkies · 06/05/2024 09:23

I’m watching dead children being pulled from the rubble AGAIN, somewhere they were told they are safe.

I wish this would all end, how much more are those suffering expected to endure

EasterIssland · 06/05/2024 09:38

Hope not many innocent civilians are killed from this.

This is

a) something that wouldn't achieve anything, as confirmed by Netanyahu

and

b) impressively (but consistent with the actions of many on this board) unempathic as a first response to a thread saying innocent people are being bombed and killed

Some people's loved ones are in Rafah. Have some compassion or at least the decency to say nothing.

It is very sad to say but, for some, compassion only works one way.

Well it explains the timing for the shameful decision to ban Al Jazeera.

I feel sick. And I find it hard to be around mumsnet posters who are still cheerleading this. I'm so sick of seeing children killed or dying. It's fucking beyond depraved.

BeretInParis · 06/05/2024 10:52

I'm sick of Hamas' terrorist infrastructure continuing to be a threat to its own citizens and the people of Israel. The innocent loss of life is devastating but so is Hamas' continued actions of putting its innocents in jeopardy. What kind of leadership does that?

marshmallowmix · 06/05/2024 10:56

Hamas parachuting into Israel started this…Hamas are to blame…
Other countries don’t want full scale war hence no on is stepping in…
It is bad on both sides no winners in this.

ConnieCounter · 06/05/2024 11:12

So Israel is completely blameless for killing nearly 40 000 people, bombing hospitals, universities, refugee camps and schools?

I would laugh at the cognitive dissonance if it wasn't such a disgusting take.

Maybe Israel could finish it then? When is enough going to be enough? When the Palestinian population no longer exists? What is Israel actually achieving from this?

Mumsnet is vile at times. Those innocent souls

Washingtonmachine · 06/05/2024 11:18

Its so sad, I'm thinking of all the babies that are left to die when their parents get killed. I have a newborn and the crazy anxiety thoughts I have made me realise that those things are probably happening in Gaza. I feel so blessed to be here and not there. You can't choose where or who you are born to.

Of course they've banned Al Jazeera, Netanyahu wouldn't want the Israelis watching as the IDF bomb and kill the hostages but from his point of view at least when they're all dead there will be no reason for him not to finish the job of levelling and emptying Gaza.

No one believes this is about hostages but I suppose some people need to deceive themselves in order to justify the murder, maiming and starvation of thousands of innocent people and the complete destruction of infrastructure and homes. I agree it's depraved and I'm sickened by it too.

marshmallowmix · 06/05/2024 11:19

I agree it needs to end …Israel needs to stop it is dreadful.

unfortunately Hamas doing way they did gave Israel leader the excuse he wanted to do what he doing…no one seems to be able to stop it! It is a horrific situation…

Humdingerydoo · 06/05/2024 11:23

I think it's important to not just forget that rockets were fired from Rafah yesterday to one of the border crossings between Gaza and Israel, causing death and destruction.

On a personal level I wish Israel wouldn't have retaliated like this, but let's not pretend Israel is just randomly attacking Rafah. Hamas knew exactly what they were doing when they fired those rockets from Rafah, and knew exactly what retaliation to expect. As always, they are sacrificing their own people and as always, Israel are solely to be blamed by certain posters on here.

marshmallowmix · 06/05/2024 11:26

Yep @Humdingerydoo Hamas have brought this on their own people …they are sacrificing their own…. life seems to not matter to them. They started this by parachuting in

gestroopd · 06/05/2024 11:32

If you don't care about the Palestinians, why don't you care about the hostages you think should be returned? Where exactly do you think they are if not in Rafah?!

And it is documented in Israeli press that Hamas offered to hand the hostages back in October and Netenyahu said no. So stop the "Hamas should hand over the hostages"! They would have, had Bibi wanted them back! There have literally been protests in Israel about this too!

Your Islamophobia/xenophobia is shining through.

Washingtonmachine · 06/05/2024 11:32

Israel started this by keeping them under occupation for years and years. They were killing Palestinians for a long time before Oct 7th, even before Hamas came into power.

Israel have thousands of Palestinian hostages that have never had a trial. The world is not blind you know.

What could've been swept under the carpet 15 years ago can no longer be hidden anymore. This is why the US wants to ban TikTok and why Israel have shut down Al Jazeera.

Trying to derail any thread that is sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinians just shows how low you will stoop to try and deny any blame on Israels parts.
