Am still in disbelief five weeks later that this was allowed to happen.

how did the world just sit and watch as this was allowed to happen?

now disease will ravage the rest of the displaced population 😞

The Israeli government should be ashamed…

Deaths from disease in Gaza could outstrip deaths from war, UN says

Organisation warns that people are starving, lack clean water and the diarrhoea rate is up 45 times compared with a year ago

then you must also agree that Hamas had a right to kill 900 civilians to protect Palestinians that Israel has been murdering all year long

This statement must surely be a definition of insanity.

No-one, no-one, no-one could argue that Hamas was trying to protect anyone with that attack. Not only did the torture and murder Israelis, they instigated an inevitable retribution against Palestinian civilians which they have applauded as ‘martyrdom’ .

All the posters going on about how awful and racist Hamas are (absolutely agreed) but conveniently ignoring that the Israeli govt put out a multitude of genocidal and racist statements against Palestinians on a regular basis.

Because they are also racist. If you watch the interviews with Israeli officals they almost let their true colours come out when they make mistakes and say there are no civilians, no innocents, kill them all, quoting the old testament.

Then they back track, but everything is recorded.

On this thread, they will start the whataboutory, but on a thread they start you better not dare mention a Palestinians death, how could you! This is not about the Palestinians!

The anger is palatable.

ssd · 29/11/2023 19:04

61 children murdered in the west bank since oct 7th. Not even killed in the bombings.

Call that a decent government?

I don't think it is. What Israel is doing is not 'protecting' anyone either yet people keep repeating it. Killing civilians doesn't protect anyone, no matter who is doing it. How can people believe that leaving little babies to die alone in a hospital is protecting anyone? How can people believe that leaving children to starve is 'protecting' anyone? Fuck knows, but they appear to.

yumyum33 · 29/11/2023 19:06

If Hamas had not committed their atrocities on October 7th we'd not be having this discussion. Blame Hamas. What were the Israelis expected to do?. Lie back and take it.

beigecartoon · 29/11/2023 19:07

it's almost as if people don't care to remember or note as relevant the many thousands of innocent Palestinians killed or imprisoned, tortured by IDF prior to 7th October. As if they just don't care, or want to think about it, because they are Palestinian. [NB this does not excuse the actions of Hamas.]

Stomacharmeleon · 29/11/2023 19:08

@Locknkey I think you mean palpable.

I don't agree with everything the Israeli government puts out anymore than I like the racist anti immigrant stuff the Tory government spews out.

And the thread you are on about was specifically about a named child that has died.

AllWeWantToDo · 29/11/2023 19:08

Locknkey · 29/11/2023 18:57

Two thread, not every.

I do need a lie down, I'm pregnant and have seen my worst nightmare.

I want answers as to why they were left to die there.

I think you need a reality check if you can't take someone posting facts and just want to post on all the threads projecting your hate.

Has it been verified? I'm hoping it isn't true. How anyone could leave babies in incubators to die is something I can't get my head around , especially as they are supposedly not terrorists

So the killing of over 13,000 people is justified?

Keep talking. No one is convinced.

Stomacharmeleon · 29/11/2023 19:11

@OuiOuiKitty the only article I have about that is in an Arabic newspaper. They also wrote that they (the hospital) informed the Red Cross and they left them. So where is your anger at the Red Cross (if this is indeed true)

Stomacharmeleon · 29/11/2023 19:11

@ssd what would you have done after 7/10 then? If you were in charge of Israel's response?

ssd · 29/11/2023 19:13

And Netanyahu can't wait till the fighting starts again. He can't wait. There hasn't been enough Palestinian blood spilled yet. Not nearly enough. And his government are behind him, pushing him on.

Stomacharmeleon · 29/11/2023 19:13

@AllWeWantToDo I cannot see it anywhere bar twitter (unverified ) and it's mentioned in an Arabic newspaper who actually talk about the Red Cross not getting involved after being asked to step in.

Are you seriously trying to deflect blame to the Red Cross? Wow.

Livinginanotherworld · 29/11/2023 19:14

OuiOuiKitty · 29/11/2023 16:26

I agree OP. The US should have cut aid to Israel immediately when it became clear that they have no regard for international law. Israel should have been treated the same way as Russia and sanctioned harshly for their lack of self-control. There are many questions to be answered about why Israel has received special treatment and has been allowed to breach international law with no repercussions.

100% this. But finally the world is waking up.

Livinginanotherworld · 29/11/2023 19:16

eardefender · 29/11/2023 16:30

Many posters say that Israel breaks the law. Can anyone give any detail on this? What law has Israel broken and if so why has no one brought them to book? Why no successful prosecutions?

Christ !! where do we start start with this one.

restabove · 29/11/2023 19:16

@Livinginanotherworld some serious batshittery on this thread.

They are not annhilating an entire population. The situation is desperate enough for Palestinians without such hyperbole.

Er….they are !

Even if that is true Israel set about starving over 1million children in the name of 'protection'. How is that protecting anybody?

Personally I don't think any civillians should be killed or harmed in the name of 'protection' but I don't understand how the people who do think Israel has a right to do that can argue against Hamas killing civillians. Either killing civillians is wrong or it isn't. It shouldn't matter which side of the wall it is happening on.

ssd · 29/11/2023 19:18

Stomacharmeleon · 29/11/2023 18:51

@ssd ' we expect terrorists to behave like murdering thugs'

And you give them a pass.

Delightful.

You are really running out of things to say @Stomacharmeleon if you call that a pass. But i guess even the most hardened pro Israel supporters must be finding it difficult to keep the excuses for Israel going.

Full marks for effort right enough.

Stomacharmeleon · 29/11/2023 19:19

Livinginanotherworld · 29/11/2023 19:20

How so? with the amount of hits on Gaza there have been remarkably few civilians killed. Israel also warn civilians to leave areas, therefore making an effort to preserve civilian life and putting their own soldiers in danger by doing so. If they wanted to annihilate the entire population, as you say, then they can do this in a day, which they don't. So many posters on here claim that Israel is genocidal and ethnically cleansing palestinians. Seems to be they are going after terrorists and trying to avoid civilian deaths, Can anyone offer evidence of genocide and ethnic cleansing by Israel?

Fucking hell, I can’t believe you can actually write this and be taken seriously. The problem here is, they do and they are.

if as you say they can annihilate the entire population don’t you think they would be annihilated back ?? Because they would. Absolutely.

@Stomacharmeleon blame shifting isn't a good look you know. Especially when you try to do it to a respected international aid organisation.
