what ive been saying for a while. They can kill every hamas supporter … but unless the conflict is directly fixed with a solution that works for both countries… the problem will continue

Number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza over 10,000 😡

There are also plenty of reports that Hamas/Gazans dressed in the IDF and police uniforms of those they killed. I imagine the whole situation was rather confusing.

Possibly yes, but they didn’t fly the Apaches did they.

One person killed, many children wounded after Israeli snipers target al-Quds hospital, says Palestinian Red Crescent

Lost for words

The situation currently at the hospitals is nothing short of heartbreaking

My god, you're right!!! The Israelis just want everyone dead, including their own, and Hamas have been unfairly maligned. How silly of me, as a non-Jewish non-Israeli, to be so completely blinded by their evil campaign of misinformation.

Residential homes last night struck in Khan Younis, killing 13 and injuring dozens. These people came from the north, and are now being internally displaced TWICE, with nowhere to go now.

UNICEF have said "there is no safe place in Gaza for a child".

Good post above by Heidi about Germans. It also illustrates an issue in the UK too about our ancestors and the world wars, a huge part of the psyche and background of most of the 67m of us in the UK, but not for some some newer incomers to the UK and how those newer people affect how the UK remembers its past and what is "the past". I suppose it is still pretty de minimis as most of the 67m are from the UK and have a shared history but as more people come that changes although probably never enough to be anything other than minimal against the 67m residents.

Going back however to Hamas terrorists invading Israel and causing the problems for those in Gaza - I am sure Hamas knew exactly what it was doing and has probably achieved what it wanted - no rapprochement between Israel and Saudi etc. Hopefully the Saudi/Israel peace deal planned before 7 Nov will still be on the table and Hamas will continue to be the losers that they are.

I literally just saw on the news now about how EDL members were "disruptive" yesterday and the "Pro Palestinian march was peaceful". I'm assuming from what I saw that the EDL members are not "newcomers" and yet they are attempting to impact on how "we" see "our" history. Just something to think about.

@feralunderclass

Did you not see the break off splinter Pro Palestine group throwing fireworks at the police? That received a brief mention of the news. The counter protest thugs were dealt with. The pro Palestine throwing fireworks hit a police officer in the face

Didn't see it, but R4 news at 8am said EDL "were severely disruptive with racial incitement to hatred, with a number of arrests made". It was then juxtaposed with "pro Palestine March which was peaceful, with a small group who had faces covered and lit fireworks close to a synagogue. Arrests were made".

feralunderclass · 13/11/2023 10:34

On the news: UNWRA state "there is no safe place in Gaza. Unprecedented challenges, restrictions and siege" (Juliet Tuma).

feralunderclass · 13/11/2023 10:50

Shaina Low from Norweigen Refugee Council says Israel have failed to provide any evidence of Hamas presence in/around medical centres, schools, UNRWA centres and are binded by law to do so. Staff are struggling to find food.

Exactly this. There has been no solid evidence presented, people seem to be conveniently forgetting that. Anything and everything Israel does is simply justified with 'Human shields' and many bothering not to look beyond that. It is incredibly frustrating

RafaistheKingofClay · 13/11/2023 11:14

I don’t think you are supposed to question the lack of evidence or the obviously faked videos.

Good job you had Middleeastmonitor, an organisation run by an extremist who has been calling for violence against Israel and British troops for years to set you right? (The UK government severed ties with the British Council of Muslims because he was on it)

Or maybe you saw the light because you read the source they were citing? The 'journalist' who's actually an extremist antisemitic blogger who also backs Russia in its invasion of Ukraine and denies that China are abusing the Uyghurs.

Please don't worry Mr Tiddles, I was being sarcastic.

I can understand you not realising, though, since my comments weren't all that different from the stuff that gets posted on here...

@Ohlalalalala was quite surprised to see these figures published yesterday as on Friday Hamas said they weren't able to provide further figures - the implication being that the process by which the figures were compiled had broken down due to lack of SAR and hospital morgues becoming non-functional/impossible to access

Perhaps things have improved in some way [?unlikely] or they are estimating the large number of bodies un-recovered in the rubble by interviewing bereaved relatives

It's a terrible business and I'm inclined to believe the US government spokesman who said last week that the figures were likely an under-estimate of fatalities anyway
