Well exactly. They say it quite clearly. They will never stop murdering and brutalizing Israelis and they are content to ‘martyr’ their own people, whether or not those men women and children want to martyred.

My personal view of this is that the original attack against Israel was backed by Iran (using proxy forces Hamas and Hezbollah) their aim, is becoming a little more obvious. I think America will step in.

I think the aim of Hamas has always been obvious. They have always been quite clear that their goal is the total destruction of Israel and that they will never accept a two state solution. Their treatment of Palestinians has always made it clear that they don’t much give a crap about them either, or at least that they regard Palestinian lives as disposable to their greater goal of establishing an Islamic state.

I saw this on Twitter earlier. Other than the article linked to in the OP (is that a US paper?) I've yet to see it reported anywhere else - speaks volumes really.

Hamas are and always have been pretty up front about their intentions. Worth noting among all these calls for a ceasefire- it only works if that ceasefire is on both sides.

Yep since their very first charter they have said clearly that the Genocide of Jews and the destruction of Israel is there aim

Even though changed the charter slightly to look less Killie and fool western idiots so they could galore support and money. Then have continued in speeches and interviews to state what is basically the original charter.

Before them Arafat also was very clear in 1967 about his aim. He also told the Arabs on the land to start calling themselves Palestinians. Something they didn't do up to that point because they considered themselves Jordanians, Syrians or Egyptians. Arafat said it would further the Arab cause. He was taking about the Arab cause to wipe Jews off the land. The same cause that the ex Hamas leader stated on his Jihad uprising video a few weeks ago.

Some UK media have now started to pick this up. There is a video interview he did with subtitles. I think it was from CNN.

@Namedmyself if another country said the same about the country where you live and said clearly their aim was to wipe you and your fellow citizens out, regardless of your political or humanitarian beliefs, what would you expect your government/leadership to do? What do you think would be the reasonable response?

@Namedmyself my eyes are wide open, as are my ears- which is how I was able to hear that Hamas leader in the video explain how they intend to repeat the atrocities of 7th Oct until Israel ceases to exist. I notice he has no plans to becomes one of the necessary martyrs that he also mentions - presumably the poor people of Gaza will fill that vacancy for him.

Rather than being aghast that Hamas call the deaths of Gazans necessary blood. You choose to say whatabout. Only person hear that is a sheep is yourself. Most people don't have a first reaction to these kind of statements as yes but what about. Normal people at least say bloody hell these are violent nutters or something similar.

The statements from them are really something

They really are vile and they aren’t hiding it, I don’t think I have ever see another group revelling in the death of it’s own people before. I don’t know what planet this guy is on but people listening to him must be appalled. Even Hezbollah care about their own even if they hate Israel they don’t actively try to put their own people in the line of fire.

I don’t think you can be pro Hamas and pro Gazan civillians at the same time.

Well, to be fair, nowhere has the Israeli government stated that its aim is the destruction of what is considered Palestine.
But the government has stated it's aim is to eradicate Hamas.
So it isn't the same thing as the clear and stated aim of Hamas as to the destruction of Israel being its main aim....far above the creation of a Palestine.

Yep. Western supporters love to talk about Israel’s (non-existent) ‘genocide’ of Palestinians but are, at best, completely silent about Hamas’s overtly stated intent to commit racist genocide against Israeli’s, or actively applaud Hamas as ‘exhilarating’ ‘freedom fighters’ . The antisemitism in this bias could not be more plain.
