Oh wow youngblowish so happy for you too. Nice to see the Graduate list growing X

sillybillymummy · 08/08/2010 16:55

Well Done youngblowfish thats great news - the grad list is growing!

So ladies - AF due Sat 14th. i have one test left. Can i open a debate? When would you think was a reasonable date to test.

Finding it difficult, because, the last 2 times, i felt 'pregnant', did a test.. and i was. But the last 2 months, and this month also, i do not feel pregnant. So really is a waste of money.

My Dh said today.. can't you just wait until you feel it kicking, and then test? He doesn't get it?

Zidonie · 08/08/2010 17:33

Congratulations youngblowfish!

Thank you for all your kind messages. This is so hard to keep the news quiet in RL, I am pleased that I can celebrate in the bus!

sillybillymummy I'd say wait as long as you can because if you get a BFN too early you'll still be wondering.

caramellokoalalover · 08/08/2010 19:32

Super news youngblowfish, so happy for you! Here's to a happy healthy 9 mths.

sillybilly, do you know when you ovulated? If you can't resist waiting then I'd say test on Wednesday at the earliest...with the usual proviso to be prepared that if it's BFN you might just need to wait a little longer. Also depends what test you have left? Is it a first response type one that claims to work 'early'? If not then I'd try and wait until Saturday. Then again, you can always buy more tests!

10DPO here. Trying...to...resist...the...stick. Although now that I've said that AF will probably come and ruin the pee party! Grin

Wombat33 · 08/08/2010 20:08

Congratulations youngblowfish that's fantastic news!! Wow the grads list is getting longer! Let's hope some of the recent baby dust rubs off on the rest of us. :)

The not drinking thing this weekend seemed to be easier to hide than I thought it would be... either that or my friends all spotted it, guessed immediately and kept quiet about it. No doubt I'll find out in due course!

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend. My random symptom spotting turned out to be a tummy bug - not great, but feeling fine again now. hope that didn't scupper our chances this month but can only wait and see. Now about 3 dpo. It's a long wait isn't it?!

OverThePond · 08/08/2010 20:21

brilliant news youngblowfish. Glad to see some positives on here...

sillybillymummy · 08/08/2010 20:56

caramel no i don't know when OV. I have a feeling i am SWI-g too early. Its a 'clear blue' - it says its only 53% correct 4 days before period due. So i should wait. I don't think i am anyway
I am trying not to be that obsessed!

LadyGoneGaga · 08/08/2010 21:38

Congratulations Zidonie and Youngblowfish - really excited for you both. I think I won't test til next weekend -0 and even that may be too early...

theteasonme · 08/08/2010 22:31

Yay! Another BFP! That's great news :)

Guessing Rockbird has caught the next bus by now, and the other one we haven't heard from in ages..

Wombat33 · 09/08/2010 13:34

Hi all. Had a bit of a shock today. Had a genetics appointment which I thought was just going to be a confirmation of what I have been told all my life - that I have nothing out of the ordinary to worry about - and instead got told that they need to run more tests but the consultant thinks it's highly likely that any child I have is likely to have a 50/50 chance of inheriting a genetic condition.

Am totally gutted and don't know what to do with myself or how this will/could/ought to affect our plans.

Have had blood tests which may or may not reveal more (results take 2-3 months!!) but then am likely to be left in territory I never exepected to have to visit - CVS, amniocentisis, decisions on late terminations vs having a potentially disabled child.

DH is being great, but has now left the country on business for two weeks and I'm totally lost.

Sorry this is all me me me but no one in RL knows.

gingerwench · 09/08/2010 15:12

congrats to all those with BFPs

My AF arrived today but I had no pregnancy symptoms ths month so am not surprised.

Hopping on the next bus now.

Wombat33 all the best. Do you have any family you can talk to?

Wombat33 · 09/08/2010 15:52

Thanks ginger, not really as we haven't told anyone we're ttc and they've all got their own issues to worry about at the moment, but I'm sure we'll muddle through. It's just a shock and makes this next stage of our lives rather harder and more traumatic then we had anticipated or hoped.

theteasonme · 09/08/2010 21:15

Sorry to hear that wombat hope you get some clarity next time you see the docs.

Well ladies, I had my first (and potentially last) appointment with the fertility people today. DH sperm is fine. My irregular cycles aren't irregular enough for clomid. I have to try for another year before they poke at my tubes with dye etc. They did give me an internal scan though (ouch!!) and found my ovaries are covered in cysts. The only option in the long term is IVF but at the moment there's nothing they can do for us. We don't qualify for IVF on the NHS as we already have a son. So, I really need to get pregnant natually! I think I'm in shock. Confused

Oh, and there was definately no baby in there Sad

ravenlocks · 09/08/2010 21:43

wombat so sorry to read your post.

There are lots of positives in there... There are more tests to do before you know for sure, and a lot of things they can do during any pregnancy to give you as much information as you need to make the informed choices you need to make. 50 pc chance is also 50 pc chance of totally healthy baby too. Is the condition life threatening? I have an aunt who had v v high chance of her children having severe disability as she had 2 brothers with the condition, she has 3 healthy children, and her oldest is 19 so way before some of the new fangled technology available to pregnant ladies now.

I think if it was me I would be undetered but would want the tests to find out more about the risks.

How are you feeling now?

sillybillymummy · 09/08/2010 22:10

Oh dear Wombat that sounds like it needs time to sink in. You are very responsible for seeking this advice.. so you are going along the right lines, and doing everything possible, thats all you can do?

teasonme - you've just got to get SWI-ing then! YOU GO GIRL!

Any word from Mama and Mylittle bubble today?

Teas really sorry to hear that. But aren't there things they can do re: the cysts?

Wombat sorry to hear that too. What made you decide to have a genetics appt? As others have said there are lots more tests and options so don't lose hope.

Well, I had a drop in temps yesterday and back up today. At 7dpo today I can't help but wonder whether it might be an implantation dip? But it prob isn't. I am a bit crampy too and too early for AF cramps but I am genius at creating early preg symtoms where none exist so who knows.

Sorry, don't know what day of the week it is!

sillybillymummy · 10/08/2010 13:07

I don't know why i am 'pretending' to myself, to be on the 2WW as i think i would know by now if i was pregnant, and i don't.

I think mylittlebubble said she was getting off the bus, but she is on hol at the mo.. so maybe wait and check she didn't have any surprises whilst away!

Wombat33 · 10/08/2010 14:00

Thanks all. I'm still feeling in shock and a bit teary but trying to look on the positive side - we will be well prepared when/if we need to consider additional scans, tests etc. Trying to do as much research as possible and work out what other questions I need to ask, who else I can get to see, if anyone and what happens next (forgot to ask yesterday when I get to see someone next!).
Ravenlocks - I think ultimately I'm undeterred too. Especially as it's not just me to consider it's my DH too. It's just a bit scary and means I'll be in a sort of limbo if when I get a BFP until everything is confirmed to be okay - be that by an amnio at 16 week, scan at 20 weeks or not until the birth. Still, one step at a time, noot got the BFP yet, or even a TWP!

Okay back to the usual ttc matters - I don't want to terrify/bore you all with genetics stuff! I'm now about 5dpo. That would be about implantation time if I was going to get pg this cycle right?? Absolutely no random symptoms to report at the moment but I'm on the look out! :)

Ladygonegaga and sillybilly you're still a few days away yet though aren't you? Are you going to test or just wait to see if AF arrives?

teasonme sorry to hear the fertility appointment wasn't very helpful. Hope the SWI is going well - good luck - we've all got everything crossed for you!!!
