Hey all,

Yes I'll take a Flake, especially as it might help me......get rid of this metal taste in my mouth!

I think I have just stumbled upon a symptom, at 10DPO. Or I am suffering after having chosen to eat oddly and badly today. Have hardly drunk any water, have had a couple of cups of that disgusting office machine coffee and chose a 'New Yorker' andwhich at Pret which has loads of gerkin in it.

4 days until I test.

hatty, becklou, how did you get on this cycle?

ravenlocks · 02/08/2010 17:53

Tamashii I want to encourage you to wait until 14DPO before you test and to test with FMU. I think early testing seems to cause lots of stress, as is evident on some of the MN posts on various threads.

Do you know when you ovulated and therefore when you will be 14 DPO? Do you have any symptoms?

ravenlocks · 02/08/2010 18:10

Check out my sensible head!!

sillybillymummy · 02/08/2010 19:35

theteasonme OIC.. crikey, i don't think i would ever convince my DH to do that.

ravenlocks, i agree, but it is soooo difficult.

I'm not testing until next thurs 12th Aug - BOooooo that seems ages away.

youngblowfish · 02/08/2010 20:14

Ravenlocks, you speak so much sense. Have another Flake!

I normally consider myself terribly impatient and I thought I'd be the same with testing, but I had a chat with DH about it and he asked me what I would gain by knowing a couple of days or weeks earlier... and the answer was, well, nothing, really. I am already driving myself slightly mad with anticipation and I know that if I got a BFP I'd be delighted beyond words. But to then have the AF arrive and go through the heartache... I have no idea how it feels since this is the first cycle we're TTC, but I suspect it is not a situation I would want to be in.

Instead, if it does not happen this time, I can just cheerily SWI all the way to another 2ww and not cry over my period. I am not quite sure whether I will be able to keep my curiosity at bay until the 10th, but I'll try.

Which, of course, is not to say that I am not waiting anxiously for more BFPs!

Karstan · 02/08/2010 20:42

AF is the lesser of two evils as far as I'm concerned, far rather get that than a BFN. (The thought of quite literally pissing money away upsets me too ). I'll be testing on the day or after AF is due, ages away yet. I'd wait longer if it wasn't important for me to know ASAP for medical reasons.

Tamashii · 02/08/2010 21:17

ravenlocks Thanks for the encouragement to wait. I know a lot of women can get BFP at 10/11 DPO but this month I am going to wait and see if AF comes first. So, 14DPO is ideal really! Thanks... [can...she....do it??? Place the pee sticks on the ground...SLOWLY!!! Move AWAY from the pee stix]

Anyway, I have NO symptoms this month. I did last month - had agony boobs n nipples like torpedoes along with awful nausea and then got cramping n AF arrived early. LP was too short anyway so was probs PMT which I don't usually get in the form of boob pain or nausea. Didn't test early anyways cos I didn't want to take the chance of BFP then AF arriving which would be unbearable. Doubtful it was anything but my mind playing tricks on me.

It is sooooooo hard this 2WW isn't it? Think I OV'd on day 23 according to spike in temps (thanks for referring me to FF there) which only makes this DPO 6 for me. Main issue I am having this month is that OH is under immense stress at work and we have recieved an unexpected bill from the taxman which has spoiled everything in the way of excitement and anticipation - I really wanna have a bottle of red this weekend so if AF arrives I will likely be p!ssed on Saturday night.

Maybe there will be some more BFP's over the next few mornings? I should probably check the Bus stats first.... Wonder who will be next?

youngblowfish · 02/08/2010 21:18

Karstan, oh yes, there is a small matter of money as well. I went inside a chemist when I was out today and had a look at the fancy digital tests, as they did not have any others. £11 for one, £14 for two which quickly stopped me impulse buying them. Then again, I also favour Boots' own folic acid (only ingredient: folic acid) over Pregnacare. I had a chat with a doctor about them and he told me the baby would not know if I took the cheapest folic acid around.

I was never terribly frugal, but the thought of having to possibly provide for another human being in 9 months time makes me somewhat stingy ;).

Karstan · 03/08/2010 07:10

TMI alert

OH likes to be the gentleman in bed, ladies first iykwim Now I read some stuff about orgasm being good as it sort of sucks the stuff up, but does that mean he should be going first?

Lib76 · 03/08/2010 08:34

I think it is about time i pressed the stop button and got of this bus! still no AF but feel she is on her way!

good luck everyone, im away to the May bus

BrassicaBabe · 03/08/2010 08:42

That's me jumping off too. Hope not to see you on the May bus. Cheerio.

BenignNeglect · 03/08/2010 09:06

Karstan I read somewhere that it it is only helpful if you orgasm at the same time (no pressure ) as your partner. However, if you go first, there's probably still some sucking effect left when he does...

Karstan · 03/08/2010 09:14

Only talking about a minute or two difference at most so will keep fingers crossed for residual sucking effect rather than worrying about timing

saffronbun · 03/08/2010 09:15

BN , That's just the sentence I wanted to read over my morning coffee

Tamashii and raven - I'm with you on the POAS embargo. Let us solemnly swear that we will wait for AF to arrive rather than, as someone on here put it, pee on ten pound notes unneccessarily.

Boo to all those who have just jumped off the bus - sure I will be joining you in about 3 days' time

caramellokoalalover · 03/08/2010 09:21

karstan - I think you're right, a minute or two shouldn't make any difference. Lots of women don't orgasm and still get pregnant so wouldn't worry too much.

Waves sadly goodbye to lib and brassica. lib, hope you're wrong about af's arrival and you're back telling us about your bfp tomorrow

5dpo here for me and no symptoms to report.

hoping back on for a quick chat! caramel don't think im wrong about AF, lots of BFN's and can feel her coming!

Tamashii · 03/08/2010 10:09

Yikes! I am sitting up the front of the bus then?!?! Have to say I have my thumb hovering over the STOP button as I feel zero PG symptoms but no PMT this month yet either.

Has anyone else been taking Agnus Castus? I started taking it as I was told it could lengthen the LP since mine seems quite short. Well, since then I have heard lots of stuff against using it like it messes up your whole cycle and can make is LONGER! Mine is sometimes 33 days and has even been 35 days on the odd stressed out occassion so I defo do NOT want to make it even longer!

Hold on a second... I am getting AF type cramping this morning. Just noticed it there... Am still hanging on til she makes her appearance though

Wonder if there will be any BFP's today???

Logged on and so sad to see some people go over to the May bus. Fingers crossed for you girls over there, this is really tough going isn't it??

saffron yes good idea, although I think if I don't get AF by Friday night I will test as I will want to know whether I can get on the booze or not at the weekend in a drowning sorrows sort of way! I am technically due my period on Friday. Will do 1 First Response only and will believe what it says either way instead of testing again and again (who am I trying to convince?)

Don't get off tamashii, let's hope it is pg symtoms!

sillybillymummy · 03/08/2010 18:21

Thanks for updating stats.

My DH was watching some rubbish on TV last night and it said there's 3 types of sex.

  1. Reproductional
  2. Relationship
  3. Recreational

I have to say... i don't think i am enjoying number 1, as much as i enjoy 2 & 3... So i don't think i am getting the sucking action!!

It just doesn't seem as fun, when you sort of have to do it!! Does anyone else feel like this - its just my best mate said its her favourite type of sex?!

OverThePond · 03/08/2010 18:59

sillybilly if you're not getting the contractions of an orgasm (just can't bring myself to type s---ing) you can go for sex on your back and tilt your hips up after for a few minutes. But that seems desperate to me (which I am) so I only do it if my DH strolls into the kitchen after and doesn't know how nutters I have become.

Also, am fully expecting AF to arrive in a few days as I haven't had any symptoms so am planning to either 1) go for sushi and drinks 2) buy new ridiculously high heels or 3) buy sexy underpants if she arrives before Sunday. Which shall it be? (consolation prize for not peeing on cash).

Karstan · 03/08/2010 19:02

I think we're lucky in that we were using condoms for contraception previously so the novelty of not having to faff about with them hasn't worn off yet

Tamashii · 03/08/2010 19:39

saffron, ravenlocks - I solemnly swear I will not POAS... until Saturday morning at the earliest :D. I know this is not 14DPO but the day I found out I was PG with DS, I had been drinking ALL weekend since there were a couple of parties we had to attend. We were not TTC or anything so I didn't have a clue I was PG then. I just don't want to make that mistake this time so will have to make sure it is/isn't BFP on Saturday morning before cracking open the red wine (or not) in the evening as PIL's are coming over and they like a drink so I always end up a tad tipsy with MIL's measures

I really don't feel PG though so maybe that is making it "easier" (yeh right) to wait to test. I just don't think this is the month but like PixieOnALeaf I will be gutted if it's not.

Tamashii · 03/08/2010 19:43

Oh - I meant to say my usual excrutiating cramp prior to AF has turned into a weird dull ache like having a finger drawing small circles inside my lower abdomen.... That is SUCH a weird thing to say but I wanted it noted in case it turns out to be an official early PG symptom!

OverThePond 1 vote here for sushi and drinks! You will SO miss them when you're PG. Yum!

Mylittlebubble · 03/08/2010 20:14

It is sad to see some of you go but good luck on the May bus girls.

Well my late EWCM has lasted for 3 days now, is it a sign? We haven't SWI as our dog died over the weeked and my DH is very upset bless him.

Can;t believe I am nearing the drivers lap. Don't feel PG so not holding much hopd this month.
