Never mind the hangover Magic as long as you had a good time.
Aly can't blame you for the way you feel but do think you co worker should be a little more considerate....my motto is treat others how you would like to be treated it's a shame that not everyone is like that though!
Waves to everyone else.

Has anyone experienced ewcm during af? I believe I have and it's been on my mind for a while and didn't want to sound silly asking but here I am

Moofold · 09/05/2010 19:20

You're doing well 8s - I can't even look at a computer when hungover, never mind do the list.

Aly I wondered that too, if your colleague knows what happened to you? My colleague was enthusing about going off on maternity in June (when I would have been finishing too) a few weeks back then apologised after for being insensitive. Maybe these things are out before she realises. I don't think there's anything wrong with being curt under the circumstances.

Curly I haven't but I read somewhere that you can get it right before RTD?

Got the first high of the cycle on my trusty CBFM so its action stations here . Hope everyone else is good x

LadyBee · 09/05/2010 19:24

oof, Magic8, I've been suffering a headache most of the day, feel like I'm hungover without the benefit of enjoying the night before - but you have my sympathy

curly I seem to recall reading in Zita's book (borrowed from a friend) that you can get EWCM during a period - especially towards the end, if you're going ovulate early in the cycle. But also can get what looks a bit like it right before period because of extra progesterone then (also responsible for the sore boobs, nausea that keeps use guessing). I've just had this myself...well..I've just had a second lot of what looks like EWCM and am anticipating period starting soon (hoping at least )

Apart from the headache, had a decent day today - out with DS most of the day and really enjoyed his company, which I find helps enormously with balancing my desire to get pregnant again. I hope this doesn't sound , I don't know, smug or something to those trying to carry a successful pregnancy for their 1st child - I do know what it's like to wonder whether you can or will have a baby at all after miscarrying the first .

So what does the week have lined up for you wonderful ladies? I'm trying to get rid of our car - have joined a car club so now just need to decide whether to eBay ours as a non-runner or call a mechanic to come out and try to get it going.

WestYorkshireGirl · 09/05/2010 19:40

Hello All

Just typed a long post but we lost internet connection just as I was posting it. Haven't got time to do it agin so will just wave for now and say hope you have a good Monday. I am going to Manchester tomorrow for a course. Someone asked where in West Yorks I am from - Holmfirth near Huddersfield.

Curlylox · 09/05/2010 19:45

Thanks for that Lady so is that a good thing or a bad thing please? By the way which of Zita's book is that in please?

digitalgirl · 09/05/2010 20:24

curly I've also read that during your period you shed more than just blood, that can include mucus too. I've had ewcm at the end of a period before, it was streaked with red/brown blood but it only happened after my first mc when I also decided to give up breastfeeding. Don't know whether I ovulated but my next period did come two weeks later

aly she can't know about your loss. Unless it's her very misguided way of trying to downplay her pregnancy by moaning about it. If any of my pregnant friends started moaning about being fat, hot, achy whatever I'll just tell them they're lucky to be suffering.

Went to the Real Food Festival today with dh and ds. Was lovely, strolling about noshing on samples. First time in a long time that we've been out as a family and I've not thought about mc or ttc or ovulating etc.

WildSheepChase · 09/05/2010 20:33

tentatively dips toe in

I miscarried for the fourth time about 4 weeks ago.

We've decided to wait for CD1, then start TTCing. So I have a kind of reverse knickerwatch going on so we can get going again.

This was the physically worst m/c I've had, as aspirin therapy meant implantation was fine- a scan the day before I m/c showed a normal 6w sac, right size and everything. So it was gutting.

I have one DS (20 mo) and it took 3 years and 3 m/c to have him. I conceived first cycle trying this time around and my GP and I have decided to increase my aspirin dose when (if?) I conceive again.

I've been lurking as I didn;t feel strong enough to post until now. x

Curlylox · 09/05/2010 20:33

digital what a lovely way to spend the day out especially if you're a foodie, yum. It's great when you have a great day out with the family - which doesn't happen too often (with us) but when it does it's sooooo lovely, especially as it takes your mind off all your worries i.e. ttc obsession

Still trying to figure out why I had another af 17 days from usual af thought it might have something to do with ewcm.....

LadyBee · 09/05/2010 21:26

Well, if you are ovulating early - say day 4-5 then a normal luteal phase of 13-14 days would give a 17 day cycle. So maybe that's what happened? I'm afraid this is just guessing though.

The Zita book I read was her Guide to Getting Pregnant (here). I thought it was good for the information about cycles etc. I take the nutritional/supplement side of things with a more sceptical view, but you can take what you want from it.

LadyBee · 09/05/2010 21:29

Hello WildSheepChase - so sorry you've suffered so many losses, but this latest one happening right after a positive-looking scan must have been heartbreaking.
I really hope you're as lucky conceiving the next time you start trying when you feel ready for it. Big squeeze for you.

Muser · 09/05/2010 22:14

I thought you all might like to read this article. A little story of hope: amazing baby

littlemiss72 · 09/05/2010 22:41

What a very moving story Muser with a wondeful ending.

I've just has a real blow left-side. been cleaning up the spare room and come across a letter for my dating scan, wonder where it had got to but certainly brought the whole pregnancy back to life. Good god, you think your doing well then smack rigth in the face.!

On the positive side I did manage to compose myself remember my little one and think what might be in the future.

Widlsheepchase welcome, so sorry you find yourself here hunni. Your in good company however so feel free to share your feelings as we have all sadly been through similar. Don't be har don yourself, rant if you wish and share of chocolate cake and wine

magic8 hope the heads a little better, I'm sure it was worth it at the time when you were having fun.

Aly if your friend knows of your loss thats a little harsh. Pepole forget unfortunately way before we ever do of course. I endured new baby pictures at work last week doing the rounds and sent flowers, it breaks my heart as it should be me. Keep strong, next time say nothing and she might just get the hint.

I've just tried on a mountain of summer clothes for my holiday which is fast approaching! No amount of sit ups between no and saturday is going to fix this one. I'm off the the shops while DP is away to purchase some clothes that fit!

Only in work until Thursday yay!! Tons to do mind hence the reason I'm currently up late and about to try and do some catch up work.. if I don't hear about that job this week I'll scream.

More wine anyone. . .

littlemiss72 · 09/05/2010 22:43

OK, I'm clearly not at my best on the typing front at this hour on glass two..please excuse my terrible spelling lol

PrettyVacant1 · 09/05/2010 23:20

Same here LittleMiss

We've just had mahssoovive home made pizzas and wine.

aly323 · 10/05/2010 00:23

WildSheepChase, it's amazing you've been through so much. I, too, think you're due a quick and sticky bfp.

Pretty, although you're not meant to be SWI, is there still a chance?? The thread is due a few bfp's.

Magic, glad to hear someone else step over the line last night as well. I just had a little wine. Unfortunately lots of small glasses of a little wine adds up. And, I couldn't say no to a shot...or two. It was a fun rowdy neighborhood cookout. I didn't want to be the uptight neighbor.

Yes, my friend/ co-worker does know what happened. She's the one who got pregnant the same day I did. We were all excited about sharing our pregnancies with each other. I think digitalgirl may have hit it on the nose. Also, she's never had to ttc too long, she's much younger than I am and she's never had a loss. I'm sure (or at least hope) she'll tone it down soon.

PrettyVacant1 · 10/05/2010 00:45

aly
I'm feeling crampy and yicky but that may just be the pizza.
I'm supposed to be waiting for genetic tests and counseling before we can think of trying again as we don't know what we'll face next.
The more I think of it the more worked up I'm getting.
I'm off to bed and if nothing happens in the morning I'll bite the bullet POAS then phone the hospital.
Bridges,crossing etc,etc.

Good luck with your co worker,my fingernails would be imprinted in the desk.
Be honest with her and say that although you're very happy for her, you don't need a running commentary.

Sorry, I'm in cow mode.
Bed.
Night, night all x

VivClicquot · 10/05/2010 10:02

Morning all x

Crikey MrsPV, what news this morning? Hope you're okay.

Hi to the new ladies x

I've had an okay weekend - spent lots of time with my friends and family, but can't escape the big black cloud which is looming over my head like Eeyore.

As you know, it's Gracie's due date next week and I'm incredibly up and down about it. Went to a gig last night with my sister and started crying at the mere mention of what we're doing next week, and I seem to be welling-up with alarming regularity. Deep down, I know I got through the due date of our first loss back in January just fine, but this one already seems so much harder - probably because of the nature of which we lost her.

Anyway, I'll try not to go on about it too much. And sorry for the maudlin and rather uninspiring Monday morning greeting. Bah bloody humbug.

xxx

WildSheepChase · 10/05/2010 10:23

Thankyou for the welcome! I'm so sorry there has to be a group of us at all, but I have found myself really needing a bit of support lately.

Viv I hope next week is as gentle for you as can be.

Freezingmyarseoff · 10/05/2010 10:41

Morning everyone

Got back from a lovely holiday yesterday, rather shocked at how bloomin' cold it is here

there's too much to catch up on, but so sorry Viv that RTD got to you (I did just check in last week to see if there was any news) Thinking of you this week too.
cheepz congrats on getting the new job.
I'll try and catch up with everyone else's news in between washing and unpacking

Hello to the new ladies, sorry you're here though.

I've been freelancing but have decided to take a step back from it for a few months, today being first non-work day, but DD is at childminders, so I've got time to do today's list - but please don't annoyed when if I cock it up - tis my first attempt!

Morning ladies.

Welcome wild. Sorry you are here, but you'll get tons of support.

Viv - I hope next week is manageable.

The anniversaries are so damn hard, but we'll get there. We all will. We will.

aly - your colleague sounds insensitive and immature. A couple of months after my mc, a friend emailed me the first scan of her baby. She knew about the mc and I just thought it was a tad lacking in the empathy dept.

I've decided, though I'm shaking a bit at the thought, of finally moving myself to the grads list.

I hope I manage to stay there for a while - around 7.5 months would do - that's all I ask. And I hope, before too long, there are plenty more BFPs to join us.

Lots of love and baby dust xxx

Sorry freezing - crossed post. Welcome back to the cold!

curly was lovely. and despite the current diet I am a bit of a foodie. So gave my self the day off and even let DS have some chocolate and icecream samples. Well, samples don't count do they?

muser I read that article too, had me in floods of tears over breakfast. Really an amazing story.

PV soooo, did you actually do any swi/sff-ing that would mean there is the teeniest possibility?

Ladybee am also reading that book. Read it last time when ttc#1, but ignored the nutritional advice. This time round though am inclined to give the healthy low-GI diet a go as I'd like to do 'something' to regulate my cycles. Especially in light of my last scan showing my ovaries as polycystic. I think I've lost a little bit of weight too so that can't be a bad thing.

viv thinking of you over the next couple of weeks.

littlemiss have you chased up since the interview for 'feedback'?

freezing welcome back. hope you had a nice time

wildsheepchase welcome to the thread. Sorry you've had to find yourself here along with all of us, but we've all been through the heartache and come out the other side.

Saw a bloke in a cardigan that I thought would look really good on my DH. Was tempted to ask bloke where he got it. Then noticed bloke was actually quite sexy and thought he would think it was a chat-up line. Am wondering if I'm about to ovulate if I'm fancying random blokes on the tube.
