Nice clean thread for us - may there be many a BFP on here

OP posts:
Curlylox · 01/05/2010 17:09

Oooh silly me there I was lurking on old thread thinking it's very quiet today......but here you all are

Redheadgal · 01/05/2010 17:23

Glad you've caught up curly :-)

Hope the bacon butty helped Magic8 - my hangover cure is eggs and hot buttered toast. Not touched a drop since our 3 bottle binge on Wednesday . Might have a few beers with Dr Who tonight.

DSD is will us this weekend and we've just a fab day playing in the park and making chocolate mousse (making the most of my non-pg diet!). It's been quite tough having her here recently, but she's really brilliant. If I can't be a mum atm, I'm going to have to focus on being a wonderful step mum.

LucyT66 · 01/05/2010 18:52

Thank you all very much for the lovely congratulations.

We'll all get there - I'm sure of it.

I just wanted to pass this little tip on, just in case. I'd read somewhere that after ovulation, pineapples - esp the bit near the middle (sorry, don't know technical term!) and black strap molasses - not together! - are good for you. something to do with the womb lining, i think. I know it may be rubbish but cause it i took them this month, and cause it worked, i'm thinking maybe there's something in it. Molasses is disgusting - you need to follow it immediately with a spoonful of ice-cream of honey to take away the totally yuck taste. So anyway I just wanted to pass this on....just in case.

For me, not quite ready to move to the grads list. Every twinge has me thinking oh no. I'm trying to stay chilled and positive, but bloody hell, it's not easy.

Lots of love to all - especially those having a hard time. We'll get there. We will. xxx

BUnderTheBonnet · 01/05/2010 19:13

Hi,
Congrats LucY! I will try your pineapple and molasses trick if I ever ovulate again.

I hope everyone is enjoying their bank holiday - I just baked a lemon sponge if any one wants a slice?

PrettyVacant1 · 01/05/2010 19:14

Hey y'all

Lots has been happening eh!

Cheepz mega congrats on job!
Made up for you!

LadyBee kudos on the leg shaving efforts,it's not that I don't bother, I just don't exactly keep ontop of it
Feminist side of me thinks when Mr.G starts shaving every day I may make more effort too.
(He has very hairy legs!)

LucyT whoo-hoo! Fab news.
Thanks for the baby dust, it's been added to my stash for a later date.
Laaaavvvvleeeyyy.

8's and Littlemissy hope your heads are feeling less fuzzy.

Welcome to our mad haven Hairytriangle chortle fingers crossed things happen again for you soon.

WYG glad the launch went well.
It really is an amazing exhibition.

Curlylox · 01/05/2010 19:30

Moofold no my stats were correct at cycle 3 CD8 as had Af 17 days after my last AF - something freaky going on as never had that before usually every 28 days. Checked it out with Dr she says nothing to worry about.

Cheepz congratulations on new job and LucyT fantastic news especially as you got BFP with no ewcm, gives me much hope...bless you.

Just finished having a lovely curry cooked by DH (yes he's a dab hand in the kitchen)and washed it down with some wine yum. Trying ever so much not to obsess with ttc, trying to relax and just enjoy whatever....

randomimposter · 01/05/2010 20:08

well done Lucy - the BFPs are making me dizzy...

Cheepzy I'm out for at least another month too.

In other news, had a full asking price offer on our house today, and it doesn't even go on the market til Tuesday... go figure. Of course, now it's finished and so clean and tidy I don't want to move anyway .

Hope all well x

Cheepz · 01/05/2010 21:20

*jolls we are partners in crime - i am a month behind you on just about everything, month behind going to grads and a month behind coming back!! So once you start trying again I will wait a month and be right behind you lets hope you grad quickly, as then I will still be a month behind you if I'm lucky [fingerscrossed]

man, two kids is hard work!! I always thought DS having someone to play with would be good, and it is BUT its double the .. toilet trips, getting fressed, getting undressed, getting drinks, food, clearing up, tantrums, arguements and requiring attention. Has been food for thought!! As DH said its different if a) they are yours and b) you have grown into it but its definitely not a lighter load

LadyBee · 01/05/2010 21:58

No I reckon going from 1 to 2 will be a nightmare.
Going from none to 1 was a whole lifechanging event but my mum said 1 to 2 was way harder.

aly323 · 01/05/2010 22:28

WYG, ohhhh! A haircut! I need one so bad. Maybe I'll make myself an appointment. Also happy to hear that someone is getting some action. I think I must be ov'ing soon because it's all I can think about. DH is finally off work tomorrow...

Linda, I think you hit it on the nose when you say you would stay in bed the whole 9 months- that's exactly how I feel.

My ttc wait will hopefully be short. What's really frustrating is that my blood sugar is actually really good (hba1c is actually 5.3!) and my regular ob is fine with that. However, the diabetes doctor doesn't like that all my levels are slightly higher than what they like for pregnant women. I'm hoping she will get me on meds next week and maybe I can ttc next month. I swear though, I have a huge part of me just dying to roll the dice this month. I just keep looking at the "waiting" portion of the list to remind myself that I can do it!

BTW, I'm also a big fan of the CBFM. They are expensive, though. I got a used one on ebay and use a few tricks to cut down on the number of sticks I use.

Muser · 01/05/2010 23:41

Congratz Lucy! There really are a lot of BFPs flying around. Gives me hope.

I am on a romantic weekend away with MrM. RTD appearance ruined it for shagathon purposes. But we are enjoying getting very drunk every night and gossiping. Think we needed this.

WYG nice hair doo, always makes you feel better having your haircut!

Well.. the Bank Holiday is looking a little grim here in London! rain rain and more rain! It just means the clelaning I had on the agenda yesterday really does need doing now as there's nothing else to do.

Happy Sunday all x

hairytriangle · 02/05/2010 10:45

Hi again, Im feeling really good this morning, all physical stuff is stopping, no pain any more, and lovely visit, from my lovely sister last night (she's expecting!) - she's my best mate, and was so fab giving me lots of advice (she's an expert on TTC and so I have now got pineapple juice, brazil nuts, lentils, seeds etc etc) I've ordered Zita West tablets and am going to get back on the TTC Train

Curlylox · 02/05/2010 12:13

hairy good to hear you're feeling positive, would you throw some my way please?

littlemiss72 · 02/05/2010 13:23

Apologies Curly at least you have it all up to date now!

Curlylox · 02/05/2010 14:08

No worries Little these things happen... there is so much going on with everyone (good and not so good) that sometimes things get overlooked, nobodies fault.
When is the busiest time on here as getting the impression that I could be a threadkiller as when I post everyone disappears?

I'm ok lindalinda thanks for asking. I know what you mean about dates.Just before I had another AF last week I had waves of nausea and other symptoms which felt like early signs of a BFP, then realised I would have been half way through pregnancy if didn't have mc. Fridays are not a good day for me either, as that's when it all went downhill. Sometimes I feel that I have moved on then I start getting all upset again. I so want to feel my cup is half full not half empty

hairytriangle · 02/05/2010 15:56

positive feelings and vibes sent to curlylox !

aly323 · 02/05/2010 16:38

Curly I know what you mean about symptoms bringing on the thoughts. I've been getting waves of nausea and realizing that many of the symptoms I was clinging to during my pregnancy (to try to overcome the doubts I had) were probably not related to the baby at all. Every time I feel one, it's a big fat reminder that I'm not pregnant.

Starting Tuesday, I get to sit directly across from my co-worker who got preg on the same day as me. She's been on her honeymoon. It's going to really suck. At least most people I work with know what happened and will hopefully be somewhat considerate since I know she'll be announcing her pregnancy and likely showing when she gets back.

Linda, thanks for the compliment on my number . That's why I'm so frustrated about waiting. My daily numbers just run a little high. I'm pretty strict with my diet, I've actually just stayed on the hospital's GD/pregnancy diet, but cut out a few of the carbs and some of the milk. I'm kind of hoping they'll just put me on Metformin soon- especially since it is supposed to help fertility, too. I would also be fine with low insulin doses since I could just continue those right through. Also, work might be willing to let me take it easy for awhile if I was put on insulin since it would make it somewhat difficult to do a serious trial. That would be a HUGE side- benefit.

Muser, "romantic weekend"? What's that? Sounds absolutely lovely and I'm green with envy!

Curlylox · 02/05/2010 17:24

Oh aly that's going to be tough but we're all here for you. Here's a big {{{{{[hug}}}}}} from me for Tuesday, sorry not brill at typing out words of comfort, but I'm sure someone who is will post something comforting shortly.

Curlylox · 02/05/2010 17:25

off out to a friends for dinner and looking forward to their company. Enjoy the rest of your evening

LadyBee · 02/05/2010 19:42

Have a lovely dinner Curly. I hope the wine and good company give you a lift. I love the online support we get but I really think there's no substitute for good human contact

Tonight I plan to do my nails. Possibly with a gin beside me. All this talk of hair cuts and clothes, makes me want to have a 'girly' night. Popcorn and trashy movie anyone?
