Morning all, looking a bit brighter here in London. Hope the night out did the trick Curly

LadyB I'd have taken your arm off for that gin, popcorn & girlire movie last night! I sat through some sci-fi cr*p with DP..

I really do have to do some more de-cluttering today, went over to DP house yesterday and it's clear he's not been doing much!! Today I'm putting my foot down, I shall be nice and cook breakfast.. then hit him with the cold hard truth. he wont know whats hit him lol

Nothing to report, just sex for the hell of it this end! Keeping everything crossed for ViV and touching boobies in her honour! I just want to know if I have that job!!

Happy Bank Holiday Monday all x x x

Curlylox · 03/05/2010 11:18

Morning all, weather has just brightened up here too after the hailstones!!
Yes an evening out in good company was just what I needed. Am feeling a little delicate today after polishing off nearly 2 bottles of wine , DH said I bounced off every wall in our home to get to bed after stripping off starkers downstairs Oooh it's been so long since I have drunk that much and it will be a long while before I do that again too. I feel better being horizontal so will pop back later.
lady I'm sure your nails look fab do you fancy doing mine? little good luck with de-cluttering and getting your DP organised

tigger15 · 03/05/2010 14:06

I'm back again. RTD came yesterday on day 29 instead of 26 so that gave me 3 days of depression trying to convince myself not to get too hopeful (plus 3 wasted pregnancy tests). My dh thinks it positive that the cycle got longer but who knows. Can you add me back to the list TTC#2 UCL26-9 cycle 12 CD2.

Welcome to newbies in particular Aly and Lindalinda. I'm also diabetic and have been type 1 for 27 years.(I was the only one on the thread till last month when I took a leave of absence to try relaxing and see if that would make a difference.)

It was my birthday this w/end which was thoroughly depressing. I turned 30 and although it was ok to look back at the last 10 years and see where I'd come the last year was pretty bad. This time last year I was pregnant. Now I've just received a referral to an infertility clinic. This time last year I thought I was healthy. Now I've been diagnosed with retinopathy and my consultant (after first trying to persuade me that they'd got a better camera and that was the reason for the diagnosis) agreed there was nothing I could do as my control is already very good. So basicly I have to wait until it takes a turn for the worse and then they can contemplate all the nice measures which will result in me losing some sight instead of losing it all. Cheery.

Anyway hopefully 30 will be better than 29.

WestYorkshireGirl · 03/05/2010 14:42

Curly what an x-rated post ! I am jealous! and Littlemiss "sex for the hell of it" - what an unusual thing!
Ladybee did you watch a movie in the end?
Aly hope things go OK tomorrow sitting next to your pg co-worker.

Hi to everyone else!

I had a bit of a bad day yesterday. Tried to get DH in the mood in the morning (after we had got up) as I'd noticed quite a bit of EWCM. Well, it didn't really go as planned and I got myself into a bit of a state thinking we'd missed our chance this month. I didn't actually blame DH, but I think it was obvious I was cross with him. I talked to him about it later and we spoke for a while about TTC. He said 'why can't we just wait and see if it happens and stop looking at symptoms etc' to which I said 'that's easier said than done as I seem to think about it all the time'. No matter how hard I try I just get so impatient and want it to happen now. I can see how TTC can de-stablise couples.

I want to keep sex fun and spontaneous and thought we were doing quite well with the every other night thing roughly around the right times, but I don't seem to get EWCM that is particularly stretchy, just wetter white stuff which I take as a good sign. Do any of you know if EWCM actually means you are ovulating or do you get EWCM even if you don't? My MW said it can take several months to start ov again. Yesterday and today I had a good outbreak of spots so again more circumstantial evidence, but anyway, I doubt we've been successful this month as last SWI on Fri eve and didn't notice more EWCM until Sun morning. There's still some today so might give things a go later.

I feel a bit better about it all today, but I think I need some better coping strategies - anyone got any words of wisdom? Should I get more serious about TTC e.g. OPKs, charting etc? I've held off doing that as it feels that to go down that road means we're not doing very well and there's no last resort if I', still not pg in a few months time....

Sorry for being a bit gloomy - this is one of those bad days that we have I think..

Curlylox · 03/05/2010 14:55

WYG didn't mean for my post to sound x rated

Anyway I know how you feel about watching for changes in CM and it's all too easy to get caught up with it and to lose the fun out of SWI. I have driven myself crazy with it all and it gets me down too....unfortunately I have no words of wisdom to offer you but am sure someone will be along shortly to offer some great advice.

digitalgirl · 03/05/2010 17:40

Hello all. Am back after a self-imposed mn break. Had so much stuff to do this weekend.

lucy congrats on the bfp!!

wyg you could try temping as it might give you peace of mind seeing a temp rise. I wouldnt do it for more than a couple of months though. I know exactly how you feel about the whole cm-checking and trying to time sex. I got really upset with dh one cycle when my period turned up - I told him once a week wasn't going to get me pregnant and that we needed to make more of an effort. It can get particularly exhausting for us with my long irregular cycles we end up having to swi as often as possible for about three weeks. Although it did work so was worth the effort. Perhaps you need to have a chat and explain that if he would prefer it if you weren't trying to 'catch' ovulation then he needs to ensure you're taken care of every 2-3 days. And yes if you had sex on Friday and ovulated Sunday you'd be in with a decent chance. However, best to have sex again today just to put your mind at ease!

DS is at his DGD's today. We've made the most of having the place to ourselves. Yes, decluttering. And shredding old bills. And maybe a bit of swi.

aly323 · 03/05/2010 17:47

What an evening Curly! It sounds like quite the sight!! . I'm sure your DH was much appreciative of the entertainment you provided.

WYG the few times I've noticed myself having actual EWCM it has not really coincided with ovulation. It's only happened maybe twice and was way before I ovulated both times (like maybe a week before). I can't depend at all on physical signs, so I use cheapie opk's. Luckily, they've always worked well for me. I also finally bought a cbfm, but I think the opk's alone work well.

DH and I have had plenty of evenings where I worked myself into a frenzy because I thought it had to happen that minute, and I often ended up fuming and/or crying myself to sleep. You just can't help feeling that way no matter how reasonable you might be in real life. After months of trying and too many of those nights, we finally just agreed that we would do it only if we were both up for it generally. However, if I showed him a positive opk, all niceties were off, no matter what his mood, how tired, etc.
I hate the way ttc turns you into everything you never wanted to be.

Tigger, I really, really hope 30 is better than 29 for you. It sounds like 29 really was a shit year. You deserve a nice sticky BFP as soon as possible!
I've learned so much about diabetes recently. It's a real bitch. Mine is very mild compared to many and wouldn't really be too much of a problem if it weren't for ttc and pregnancy. As I said to Linda before, I have so much admiration for people who have dealt with diabetes long term and managed to keep everything in control (or even close). It takes so much determination and discipline.

Ok, I'm off to meet a friend for some girly time!! We're going shopping and lunching. Lots of potential for trouble.

BUnderTheBonnet · 03/05/2010 17:51

Hi everyone,

I got my most recent blood tests back on Friday, and my iron is almost normal, so I'm back to work tomorrow. I'm ridiculously nervous about it. Friday will be 1 month after the mc so it will be good to be doing something else, but I know there will be lots of questions, and I'll probably spend all of tomorrow on the verge of tears.

Muser · 03/05/2010 18:00

You might be surprised about the questions. I had 3 weeks off for my ectopic and was expecting questions when I went back. But I got nothing. I think the fact that nobody had been told what exactly was wrong with me made them realise it was something personal. So I got "good to see you backs" and no prying.

Good luck. I hope it goes well.

BUnderTheBonnet · 03/05/2010 18:10

Thanks muser. I think you're probably right. I'm a teacher, though, so the kids will certainly ask and will need to be fobbed off, without possing them off that their teacher disappeared just before their GCSE and A-Level exams. And some kind colleague is bound to ask how I'm doing...

digitalgirl · 03/05/2010 18:23

Oh and wyg [tmi alert] I am a serial cervix position checker too. I can't temp as we co-sleep, and I'm forever confusing cm with semen. So I resort to a daily rummage (in the shower) to check on whether it's soft/firm, high/low, wet/dry.

It's not recommended as it can be a tricky to figure it out unless you've been doing it for a couple of cycles -but now it's my only reliable indicator that I have ovulated and can stop worrying about sex for the next two weeks.

Apologies if that's a bit too graphic for some!

cheepz congrats on new job

muser am of weekend away with other half. We definitely need one of those.

pv I need a haircut too (have done for about 6 months), lucky you!

linda hope the new clothes help distract you for a bit.

viv ...drumming fingers...

jollster congrats on offer! That's half the stress over.

tigger happy birthday for this weekend. 30 is sooo much better than 29. It can only get better.

littlemiss fingers crossed on the job.

Thanks ladybee, clareanna, magic8 on the posts about cramping. I know I just need to be patient and let my body get on with making whatever adjustments it needs to. I suppose it just brought me back to how I felt when pregnant.

Waves to everyone else.

Muser · 03/05/2010 21:31

Think you broke the thread! I definitely recommend a weekend away. Our first since the ectopic and it helped us hugely.

LadyBee · 03/05/2010 21:49

Hi littlemiss, well it didn't end up being such a girly movie after all, we watched the latest Harry Potter , it's getting ridiculous but my films now pretyt much have to be for children or thriller/action - anything with emotional depth I just find a bit raw. Good luck sorting out your DP (in every sense of the word).

tigger those three days must have been hellish, sorry for that, and I also hope you find more joy in your 30th year.

WYG, I found that the ttc sex stress was worse when I was trying to be subtle - just happening to want sex on a Tuesday evening AND a Wednesday, when we'd normally be weekend or Thursdays (just an example). In the end if was much better when I was frank and just told DH that if he wanted a baby as much as I did, then we had to have sex at least every 2-3 days from day 8 in my cycle, and I'd tell him when we could stop. I make sure I'm doing everything I can to stay healthy, ovulate etc, but really the rest is up to him. I think there's a limit to what we can take responsibility for.

Having said all that, I'm seriously contemplating getting a clearblue fertility monitor . I read recently that if you're on metformin there's a better chance that these monitors will work for those with PCOS. I guess I just want to give myself the best chance. I wonder if any of the ladies on the PG boards want to sell theirs

clareanna · 03/05/2010 23:04

Evening all - just on the way back from the very windy east coast - no need for expensive facials there- have been thoroughly sand blasted !
On phone so sorry in advance for not name checking everyone. But sending you all big hugs- sounds like a few of us could do with them...
bunder good luck tomorrow - take it an hour at a time.
tigger good to hear from you again, but sorry you're having a shite time at the moment. We're here to listen when you need a rant.
viv am waiting at arrivals for you with big handful of pg tests... Hope you had a great hol?!!!
muser glad minibreak has perked you up- not long to go now..
wyg you'd think a woman begging for it and dragging them into bed would be most Mens' fantasy... Obviously not! Had similar issues his month, but have Been glad of the break- gah- hate it when dh is right!!!!

As for me... Had a bit of a setback this weekend... Bumped into an old friend who I haven't seen since last summer... She's pg with her third and due 2 days after I would have been. I had a bit of a wobble but am ok now- it's funny how it can still knock you sideways every now and then, I just wasn't expecting it. Still I'm delighted for her and hopefully I'll provide a playmate within the year! Roll on this cycle.....

littlemiss72 · 04/05/2010 07:35

Morning all, Back to work today! I'm just hoping to hear about the job, early next week I was told to that's Tuesday in my heand

Clareanna totally understand, that happneed to me a while back and was much the same as you. Really knocked me sideways knowing a friend was due around the time I should be. Be kind to yourself, your time will come.

Digi good god woman, I wouldn't know where to start lol. I do hear that if you know your cervix well this is a good indicator. Might get DP to start doing that one

BUnder be strong today hunni, don't feel you have to tell anyone what you've been up against. Little steps, going back into work is just the first. x

WYG we are all entitled to our off days, you moan away here and sod em all sweetie! I spent the first two months obsessing about TTC and now I'm feeling much better about it all. I'm not looking for signs anymore and I'm just waiting to see what happens. What will be will be, easier said than done I know but please don't stress yourself out worrying about TTC. x

Done well on the de-cluttering however as I'm throwing it away DP is bringing more into the house! Stupid man should watch his step RTD is looming

I'll update the list before I head off to work, it's my first job of the day!

dorcas111 · 04/05/2010 09:14

Hi everyone, I got back last night from a lovely week and a half away, staying in a cottage on the northumberland coast. It was just what me and my OH needed and I feel so much better than I did when I went away. Still very sad about what happened, obviously, but starting to feel a bit more optimistic about the future. We saw family whilst up there and I even had a lovely cuddle with OH's baby godson which I took as a good sign that I actually enjoyed it rather than found too painful. Hope you are all okay, I've been trying to catch up on what I've missed but there is a lot. Congratulations all of you that have got yourselves a BFP! I think that is alba, sparkly, margie32 and bunnybaby but sorry if I have got that wrong/ missed anyone out.
Could someone add me to the list- sorry but I don't really understand it! I think I am TTC 1, UCL29, cycle 1, CD12.

BUnderTheBonnet · 04/05/2010 09:20

Hi everyone,
Work is a real struggle - I've had to run to the loo to cry 4 times so far. Teaching has actually started now, which is better. Ignoring my class shamelessly while I get my head together though....

lucysnowe · 04/05/2010 09:26

Hi all and congrats to lucy, what a good name. :-)

Hi hairy. I felt pretty positive in some ways about my m/c too, as at least I managed to conceive 'naturally'. But next time may need some extra help.

Anyway, got RTD!! It came on the day after I started the agnus castus so good stuff. I am now

lucysnowe TTC#2 UCL 40+ cycle 3 CD 4

Have downloaded a proper chart and everything. OH yes, I am going to micromanage this cycle.

WYG I had EWCM and other ov symptoms last cycle with no ov - I think sometimes your body tries its best...

Busy at work trying not to resign until have offer in writing but hard to be motivated to do anything

need to get papers photocopied for house move to send to mortgage company as we now have a move date agreed for mid July

Had to give notice at nursery that will be moving DS at some point in July so don't want him moved into next class as will double the disruption for him - got all emotional about prospect of moving him

have read whole chain and things that stuck

curly no chance of killing this thread - its been going since last August and at iteration 5 so I think you can say what you want and we will support you through it

WYG me and DH have had lots of rows about me needing him to jump on at the right time and him just wanting to 'let it happen in its own time'. They don't share the desparate need to make it happen quickly, they don't understand how small the window can be and they don't get how emotional and draining the experience is for us (generally) - for my DH I found the best thing was to tell him as little as possible about dates, times and symptoms, try and make sure we had sex once or twice every week so he wouldn't know which was THE week, and trips to Ann Summers for lingerie and toys every few months to spice things up abit!

tigger 30!! [jealous] you spring chicken, I lvoed thirty and thirties generally have been great - am enjoying my last 3 years in them before hitting forties [gulp] it does sound like you have been having a pants time - I noted you have had 12 cycles - have you thought about seeing a doctor to get tests - NHS will only test you after 3 miscarriages or you have been TTC for a year. But they are required to investigate at that point. Given you have a DC already they will try to palm you off but its worth getting everything checked out if for no other reaso than to reassure that all is in order. I am having all the tests now I have had 3 mc to reassure myself there is nothing physically wrong as its one less thing to worry about. Just a thought

jolls great news on the house - we really are living life in tandem

Bunder hang in there honey, things will improve

viiiiiiiiiv what news lady, bated breath and all that

Reposted list as put Lucy on twice 'doh' and added Dorcas (glad you had a lovely time Dorcs sounds idyllic and sounds like you are doing great)

BUnder - hang in there hon! It's tough, really tough right now, but it will get easier.

Dorcas - glad you enjoyed your break. A change of scenery and a bit of quality time with DH is often the best way to stay sane.

Hairy - look after yourself today

Still nothing happening here. No sign of the RTD despite displacing clear premenstrual symptoms for the last week (tears, exhaustion, intense annoyance with DH - the usual). Admittedly there's the tiniest chance I might be pregnant - BUT a) I don't think I've ovulated since the mmc, b) I don't feel pregnant and c) according to a test last week, I'm not pregnant.

I'm wondering whether this wait (approaching 6 weeks since ERPC) has anything to do with my having a missed mc? Has anyone experienced anything similar? Do people who mmc have to wait longer than those who mc naturally?

Morning all. I was on this thread back in Jan & Feb after my MC, but took a bit of a self imposed break and tried to do the relaxing about TTC thing. Needless to say, no BFP has been forthcoming, so I'm back to rub shoulders with all of you lovely lot again.

Am pretty blue as this is month 6 of TTC. DS took a whopping 1 cycle to conceive, as did the MC pregnancy, so I am panicking that something has gone wrong with my body - not helped by the fact that periods have got heavier and more painful since MC. Going to see doc about that soon, as I am in such pain for first 24 hours of period now.

Have added myself to stats, lovely to see so many grads who were TTC when I was on here before. There's hope for me yet!
