BarrenB so sorry. Hope you get some answers soon. Take care x

Big waves to Jolls, Cheepz, MrsPretty, Viv, WYG, LittleMiss, Clareanna, Magic8s, Freezing, Moof and all you lovely ladies. Hope the Oyster Bay is flowing and that someone's still looking after poor Brian

northerngoldilocks · 13/05/2010 10:03

Hairy T - thanks for the welcome. Hope that the scan today gives you some answers, I think that the waiting and not fully knowing is the worst part as you feel a bit like nothings happening and you can't move on. Fingers crossed that you get the answers you need.

Sorry to all those who have had recent losses, hoping for lots of good news soon.

After a couple of weeks of coping quite well I randomly started crying in the middle of spinning this morning, thankfully managed to pull myself together so as not to look a total freak! Thought exercise was supposed to release happy endorphins!

Muser · 13/05/2010 10:47

Just wanted to wish you well hairy. Having been in that position of "am I miscarrying, am I pregnant, is it ectopic, what the hell is going on?" I know what a rollercoaster it is. If it is an early ectopic that's exactly what I had. I was treated with methotrexate for it.

There can be side effects with the drug but I didn't get most of them. I was incredibly tired though, really "can't walk to the shop for milk" tired. For this reason I would recommend taking time off work. I had 2 weeks off after the treatment, the first week I was useless, second was better but emotionally I wasn't ready to go back.

You will have to wait 3 months (or 2 full cycles) before you can start TTC again, because the drug strips the folate out of your body. But that goes quicker than you'd think.

I hope it's not an ectopic, but mostly that you get an answer so you can start dealing with it. That waiting in limbo is so hard.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 13/05/2010 11:33

Hey ladies, new (welcome - you have come to the right place) and old. Hairy I am thinking of your right now in that scan room - fingers crossed x

Will pop in once my little poorly lady is sleeping (my god she has it bad already but the worst is still to come as she is covered in tiny pin prick dots too which is only more blisters to come... )

Hello everybody Peeps.

Barren It's a personal choice but imo ERPC was the best choice for me too, your body and mind has been through enough to prolong things further.

Hairy How are you feeling today?
Hope you get some answers as Aly said you deserve to be able to put this behind you xx

Hi Sakura Good to see you.
I'm sorry that you've had to go through this again.

Urd Hi. Good to hear from you

Northerngoldilocks Feel free to pull up a bean bag and join our splinter group of WTTC
You can sit with me by the bar window and enjoy the view and company of this fantastic bunch of wimin.
I'm not allowed to TTC either at the mo.
Hormones are 'orrible things, creeping up on you when you least expect it, although I think if I did spinning I'd be crying.

Brian is being a good boy Gi1da he helped us win the quiz again last night.
We have him shackled between hires.

Hoping the poorly poxed are not scratching too much and the poorly poxed Mums cupboards have never ending Bicarb/thatpinkstuffthatgoeschalkyandturnseverthingwhite.

Thankyou for all your messages about tests yesterday.
Didn't really get any further though
I did speak to a real life Genetics Counselor and we went through what I knew of my family history
I actually know more about MrG's than mine.

GC did say that it was a duplication of chromosome 22 on the maternal side.
So it's me.
There's a 50/50 chance that it will affect any future pregnancies but it's not a cause of MC
Still waiting for bloods to come back
They can't tell me much until then.
They are going to chase them up and will call me again on Fri.

When the results come back they'll have a clearer idea of the variation of the gene and said they will prepare case studies of children with this for us to look over.

I'm hoping that as it's me who has the dodgy genes and I'm ok that mini us' will be.

The GC also said there's a loooong waiting list to see a GC but due to it being my 6th MC, having the Molar and the pesky NK cells she will try and get us an app. asap

Confused much???
I am!

I actually think that sounds reasonably positive, MrsPV. At the very least, you're on the road to (hopefully) getting answers, and it sounds as though they're taking your history into consideration to make sure you're seen quickly. Fingers crossed that you'll know even more on Friday xxx

Julia1969 · 13/05/2010 14:58

Hi,

Signed up to Mumsnet just over a year ago when I found out that I was pregnant for the first time. It was my first pregnancy and I was happy but very shocked as it had only taken 3 months and I was 39 at the time. Sadly, having found out that it was twins, it ended in a MMC at 11 weeks.
Hard as it is to admit, I found it very difficult to adjust to the idea of being pregnant back then as I had never really had any urge to have a baby and although I'm kind of a nurturing type, it generally manifests in teh form of looking after people and animals!

Anyhow, have recently had a whole ovarian cyst thing which has luckily gone now so we're back on TTC.

Have been lurking around here and you all seem like a sensitive but realistic bunch - no refence to 'baby dancing' (sorry just can't be doing with that) but at the same time lots of talk of wine and giggling and naughtiness and sauciness!

Just wondering if I can join in?

WildSheepChase · 13/05/2010 15:07

Hey Julia! Sorry about your MMC, and the ovarian cyst too- they're painful buggers aren't they? x

Thanks for the answers about investigations and the number of miscarriages. I'm also very interested in the selenium thang.

WildSheepChase · 13/05/2010 15:10

Oops, forgot my stats...

TTC#2 MC-15/4/10 UCL-60 On TTC amnesty until cycle starts again.

Julia1969 · 13/05/2010 15:12

Just realised that my typing was appalling in that post - not a good first impression, huh?!

Cyst was SO painful. My GP was thought it was appendix problems at first.

Is anyone on here taking She Oak? I just started taking it a couple of weeks ago after a friend told me about it. Don't see much mention of it on here though.

WildSheepChase · 13/05/2010 15:20

My GP thought it was Diverticulitis the first time, and a burst ectopic the second... horrid things.

Not heard about She oak... tell me more?

hairytriangle · 13/05/2010 15:29

Thanks all for your lovely supportive messages - just got back from scan and seeing doctor!

HCG levels last night 100 (up from 75 on Monday - WTF!) quickest and largest rise when they should really be decreasing

Scan showed : 2 x healthy ovaries, 1x small fibroid at back wall of womb (knew about this already). ?small 'blip' in womb - could be retained product, right hand ovary has a small cyst which is normal after ovulation (apparently they can form and go away of their own accord).

Dr says there is nothing dangerous that they can see, no sign of ectopic pregnancy, that I need HCG monitored every forty eight hours, that it could be a very early viable pregnancy but until hcg levels get to 1,000 they can't see, but most likely not.

Ho hum, the only option is to keep monitoring me and sit and wait.

Feels strange to be a medical anomole!

Hope you're all keeping well x

WildSheepChase · 13/05/2010 15:33

HT- Glad you've had your scan. Hope you get some answers from the monitoring.

hairytriangle · 13/05/2010 15:33

Hello julia1969 good to have you here, so sorry about your MC and the ovarian cyst (I have a small one at present as per post above)

You sound like my kind of girl - no 'baby dancing' here LOL but lots of giggling and wine (until I'm told I can TTC again LOL)

x

hairytriangle · 13/05/2010 15:36

cheers WSC

Ps: saw the most CUTE new born on the way out with it's mum and dad Luckily I am not sickened by the sight of them, or of baby bumps (would have been a bummer if I was, as I had to sit in the scan waiting room with all the expectant mothers today) x

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 13/05/2010 17:02

It's 5 & Poxy Loxy is asleep finally - she is a wreck bless her (so I am tbh)......

Welcome Julia sorry you have had some troubles, you have come to the right place. Hairy Fingers crossed and hang in there....how many weeks would you technically be?

WSC you can add your stats if you want to (just cut and paste the list and plonk yourself on) or I can do it if you like??

How you doing today Viv? Did you have your blood tests done?

Hey Pretty I love the smell of thatpinkstuffthatgoeschalkyandturnseverthingwhite (am I weird?) Sounds like you are starting to get some answers and def another step up the ladder so try not to feel too disheartened, fingers crossed for more answers on Friday.

Ah bless you northern I think sometimes it just gets you at the oddest of times although I often find its hormone related.

Crazy wave to Gi1da nice to see you!!!!

Good move aly nothing like a spend to make you feel better! (Did you really post at 5am?!?!?)

Well apart from the pox, nuffink to report really, I could silly symptom spot but just not going there after some body trickery last month......I just don't believe anything I feel these days.

OP posts:
VivClicquot · 13/05/2010 17:29

No blood tests yet - I've got to go in on Day 21 of my cycle to check there's been a progesterone surge, and then D2 of my next cycle to check something else. (I forget what!)

Welcome to Julia and northerngoldilocks - I'm glad you've found our ragtag bunch

Was supposed to go for a 5 mile run tonight with my friend, but I'd forgotten that my parents and sister are in town to see Peter Kay, so I'm meeting up with them for dinner.
I don't like to eat much after a run so was only planning on having a bowl of cereal for dinner - so had a big(ish) lunch to compensate. I'm going to be a right fatty boom boom now!

hairytriangle · 13/05/2010 19:25

wow Viv five miles? I can't run 5 metres!

aly323 · 13/05/2010 19:38

Hairy, I am so glad to hear the it isn't an ectopic!!! Although I'm sure that it's frustrating to get another wait and see, it's good that everything appears to be in the right place and looking healthy. I'm so curious too see your next results. You really are being strung along- I hope it all ends with good news!

Julia, welcome! I really liked your description of the bunch and thread. Sauciness and naughtiness are two of my favorite things! It's funny, I still lurk on my old thread, but I just can't join in the way I used to. I really like this group and the general athmosphere here. I'm also in hearing more about She Oak. Sounds fancy, I'll try about anything!

Pretty, glad to hear you're finally getting somewhere. Hopefully they'll find a way to get you in with a GC soon.

Magic8 I'm in the US, so I'm way off schedule. Generally, I settle down to post right when no one else is around. Good thing is when I wake up, there are usualy loads of new posts to entertain me.

Pox, yuck... Turns out I probably never had it as a kid (although my mom swore I had a light case). I got the vaccine a few years ago, but when tested recently was just under the immune range (by 1 point). Pox freaks me out. I guess I should probably look into trying to get the vaccine again if I'm not pg this month. Good luck with the poor poxy little ones.

digitalgirl · 13/05/2010 20:01

Yes, well done pox mothers for getting through another day. Not looking forward to ds getting chicken pox. When does it start to get dangerous for boys is it in their teens?

Feeling a bit back-achey today. So of course I'm wondering if I've had a failed ovulation and am going to fast forward straight onto my period. WTF indeed.

Welcome julia sorry to hear about your mc and cyst. Hope you're not here for too long (meant in the nicest possible way), but if you are you're in good company.

hairy holy uterus batman, what in bejaysus is going on? When was your first positive pg test? That will tell us the earliest you could possibly be.

viv does that mean tomorrow you'll have to run 10k? I wish I could go running but am too much of a wimp to go early morning or after ds's bedtime (coz I will get murdered innit?) - but pre-ds I used to run on my days off. Wasn't very good. I regularly got overtaken by an elderly couple who used to do the same route.

In other non-ttc news, I have had a splendid day off with my mum and ds. Went shopping followed by a cup of tea at a cafe that has toys & a wendy house for the kiddies. Then after lunch went to see an nct friend I haven't seen for ages. Her ds, also 20m, seems more advanced than mine, but I put that down to him attending nursery (and his mum being far more attentive and nurturing than I am). But the boys are slowly beginning to play with each other (in between fighting over toys, food, attention). It's great, I love this age.

clareanna · 13/05/2010 20:01

julia and northern welcome along, sorry you've found yourselves here, but before long you'll be joining us in our monthly ritual of welcoming our RTD by donning our tightie whities and going roller skating while walking the dog (a la bodyform ad) cos that's the kind of positive gals we are....

prettyG hmmm sounds as though you're on your way to getting some answers which is good - can't believe how long the bloods are taking though

viv while you're at it, run 5 for me!

Magic not long for you now? any random symptoms?!

big waves to everyone else - pox may be descending in our house too - DS got shocker of a temp today. feeling a bit tonight - was supposed to be going out but instead I have to stay in and watch watchdog for work grrrr

Evening all, don't have time for a proper namechecking post as am madly packing for our wee trip to Mull tomorrow. Why did I leave this until the last minute!

I'm away for a week and not sure if there will be internet access so hope everyone has a good week ahead and I'll catch you all later x

clareanna · 13/05/2010 20:43

Have a lovely hol moo hope the sun shines for you! How is the swi going?! I'm right behind you- this time next week action stations for me!!!

hairytriangle · 13/05/2010 20:45

aly yes it does feel like being strung along somewhat, but they are only human and I'm an anomole! LOL

digital LOL at your expletives! first day of last cycle was 26th March, first positive preg test was Wed 28th April at six days late for AF.

I should be in my seventh week now, by those dates (they initially put due date as 31st Dec).

They also said today I could be less far along than first thought.

Moofold have a great trip and see you in a week!
