Ridiculous Symptom Spotting... come on... you know you do...

millymoo1234 · 29/03/2010 21:22

OK, so since TTC I've thought (or wondered briefly) the following might be signs of being pregnant...

funny rash on my legs - still don't know what this was
three spots on my forehead - I was convinced this was a hormone induced 'breakout' as I don't normally get spots)
General bad mood - turns out I'm just grumpy
crazy dreams
needing a wee
not needing a wee
not liking the smell of coconut - weird
feeling very weepy and sore boobs - hmmm... this could have just been PMS!
stuffy nose

This month I have a massive craving for Mango which I'm normally indifferent to - I am of course CONVINCED that it's my month...

Am desperately trying to hold out till next weekend to test... I need distractions! anyone else had any funny symptoms and wondered if it could be a SIGN?

pleas join in the madness and let me know I'm not the only one! xxx

Hi everyone

Thank you A1 (hope you dont mind me calling you that, its just cause i giggle everytime i think of calling you mummy )
The labour was really hard A1, it took me 4 days to dilate 5cm and then had to have my waters broken cause they werent looking like they were gonna go naturally. Also the epidural did not work for me.after 4 days of slow labour i was exhausted and boaking everywhere.I didnt progress past 5cm and ds was face presentation so thats why i ended up getting em cs.Though a healthy beautiful son at the end of it all was so worth every minute.

I tested this evening-bfn.af due anytime from tomorrow.it was tesco cheapie i used and still have another 1 left, going to use it in the morning.

Dice good luck for your blood results tomorrow.

Row hope you have success with the cbfm!

Swizzle ive been taking evening primrose oil cause its meant to help regulate cycle and increase cm.

KatyCustard · 13/07/2010 22:13

seany I'm due on sometime tomorrow too! I've convinced myself that I am pregnant but I took a test early this morning and it was a BFN, not even a HINT of a line.
Still, I'm trying t be positive, even if the test isn't!
Is having a slightly raised temperature a symptom? My temp is normally around 36 but tonight it's 37.5

mslucy · 13/07/2010 23:02

have the most horrible taste in my mouth - vile, truly vile.
AF due on 8th July - did test a day early and negative.
Can't quite bring myself to test again - DH is trying to make me.
Keep thinking AF is imminent - obsessive knicker checking but no joy so far and I am five days late.
I have been regular as clockwork since AF came back in April. This is the latest I have ever been and I swear I ovulated ages ago.

seanybosmummysfedupwaiting · 14/07/2010 09:01

Hi everyone

Katy do you mean your basal body temp or your temp in general? A continued raised bbt is a sign of preg but i dont know about normal temp [fingers crossed for you!]

I tested again this morning and another bfn (boooooooooooooooooooo getting so sick of this!).typically now feel like af is gonna arrive any minute.

mslucy your dh is right 5 days late is a great sign if your usually regular! you must have an abundance of self control to keep not testing lol

A name change is imminent for me,im just trying to figure one out so i'll be back to post with my newly found name shortly.

AuntFlosAssassin · 14/07/2010 09:18

Im trying this out for size (self explanitory really ).

Seany xx

Bicnod · 14/07/2010 09:23

Hi ladies - I've popped in and out of this thread and others on conception, hope you don't mind me coming in for a bit again?

Currently on CD26 of what has been a 26 day cycle for the last few months so keeping fingers and toes crossed and trying to forget about the pg test in the bathroom cupboard.

Been symptom spotting like mad this month. Current indicators that I am definitely pg (hahaha) are:

  1. not very good at regulating my body temperature, keep being too hot then too cold.
  1. really tired
  1. felt a bit nauseous on the tube yesterday
  1. sat next to man who STANK of garlic on train yesterday - not sure if he really stank or if I have a heightened sense of smell
  1. I really really really want to be pg

SpareRoomSleeper · 14/07/2010 15:21

Hi Everyone, Ive named changed, was cherrybaby on here before !

Hows everyone? Any BFPs???

I havnt been on the thread for a while because I had really irregular periods and I could feel myself becoming a bit crazy (read: testing every day, sometimes two in a go), so I backed off!

Im back to become crazy again

Baby dust to all!

SpareRoomSleeper · 14/07/2010 15:23

Also, what happened to the OP, milkymoo, ????

milkymoo....where are you? Are you still posting and ridiculous symptom spotting??

MummyWithA1Family · 14/07/2010 16:27

AF I don't mind you calling me A1 at all (anything so long as it's not offensive!). Are you ok with me calling you AF?

I too was wondering about MilkyMoo. Do we think (and hope) she got a BFP?

Just a quick note to say I'm feeling lousy and have been in bed (most of the time) since Saturday. AF has hit really hard this month, probably because it was so late! I've got what feels like a trapped nerve in my back. Oddly enough it only happens when AFs here! Does anyone else get this? I can barely move with it. DH is so worried he wants me to go to hospital but what's the point? GP & hospital won't be able to do anything anyway as I'm on strong painkillers and am allergic to anti-inflammertories. Guess it's just laying down and heat packs until AF disappears (and pray she doesn't come knocking on my door/womb next month (instead have a 'baby bean' in there!).

Good luck all for BFP. Come on AF I'm praying you're the next as you've been trying so hard for so long.

PS Am going to the library to see if they have that book 'Taking control of your fertility' (well when my back's better anyway). If not I may well buy it.

MummyWithA1Family · 14/07/2010 16:31

Just thought. Doh! Can't really call you AF or it's gonna get confusing. You may think I'm saying get lost AF to you when I mean real AF. So if you're ok with it I'd best call you Assasin! You can tell it's that time of the month as I'm being super dopey!! Lol

AuntFlosAssassin · 14/07/2010 19:24

lol assassin is fine a1
sorry your feeling rotten..men get it easy eh?!

Welcome back spareroom . i know what you mean about going crazy,im starting to feel a major amount little bit like that myself, and may well need to take some time out soon..

oh dice thats complete and utter shite. has your gp mentioned giving you something to bring af on? how you are managing to stay sane is beyond me!! [hugs]

right.. af due anytime from today and no sign yet . hope its not gonna be another 38 day cycle for me.have gynae appt next friday so hopefully can get some answers then.

I have such a sore armpit ,its actually quite painful (only the left one).hope im not getting a bloody boil or anything (i tend to get these when im run down, usually on armpit or groin area)

Enough of me moaning.hows everyone else today?

fairybubbles · 14/07/2010 19:43

hi all, well i've really enjoyed the time out and ive not been obsessing at all. This month the time has flown by...

AF due by tomorrow (CD35). I cheated and did a FR about 4 days ago and got a really faint line. DP has popped out to buy a digital which I will do 1st thing tomorrow.

My symptoms have been:

Wind- rumbling noise in tummy
Change in appetite- very hungry one minute, no appetite the next
sore boobs

I suppose time will tell. I hope this is a good month for us on here and there are lots of BFP's

row78 · 14/07/2010 20:43

fairy - that's so exciting that you got a faint line! Fingers crossed for you tomorrow.

bossy thanks for the reccomendation, I tthink I will try that one

swizzle and A1 - cycle buddies it is, though I will be all jealous when you get your next period and I'm stuck waiting for mmine for weeks again. Good point about the testing sticks, I did order some but they haven't turned up yet so couldn't test either way. I read the instructions on the CB site and they say that you have to start on day 1 so I'll just have to be patient.

bicnod jealous of your 26 day cycle, fingers crossed!

MummyWithA1Family · 15/07/2010 00:40

Row wouldn't it be typical if you've forked out all that money for the monitor and get a BFP before you got chance to use it! Fingers crossed for a waste of money!! Lol

Fairy when I was pregnant with DS I got the feintest ever line on a regular test (had to squint to see it!). I then used a CB Digital half an hour later after sending DH to shops and got the magical word 'pregnant' on the display! I'm sure you'll get the same but won't tempt fate by saying the 'c' word to you until it's confirmed!

Assasin hope your arm's ok and it's just sore and no boil appears as they're sooooo painful. Fingers crossed x

Well looks like I may be missing for a few days (unless I get a strong signal and can use my iPhone in hospital). Called NHS Direct tonight about my backpain for advice on anything else I could do. They were worried so called OOH GP for me to ask them to help me over the phone. After a phone consultation they decided they needed to come out to see me (no bullying me to go to them at all!). GP came within 30 mins (the OOH surgery is 30 mins away). He said he wants me in hospital for tests and nursing care (I don't need bloody nursing care!!!) but wouldn't admit me tonight as I may spend a few hours on a trolley in A&E and he thought it'd do more harm than good. Instead my own GP will get a report and admit me tomorrow morning. In the meantime he gave me some Valium to relax my muscles (I thought only mothers with nightmare kids got Valium! LOL). I so don't want to go to hospital and am going to try my best to get out of it. Dr thinks the growths on my lungs may have transferred to my spine! Sh*t

It doesn't bloody rain but it pours.

row78 · 15/07/2010 08:24

A1 If the jinxing works it will be the best £50 I have ever spent

And bloody hell about your backpain, get yourself off to the hospital pronto and fingers crossed it is something easy to rememdy and not anything scary.

fairybubbles · 15/07/2010 08:58

A1 thinking of you and hope you get better soon..valium eh, I thought it was prescribed for people scared to fly, whatever, hopefully it will relax you. Hope you managed to get some sleep.

assassin love the new nickname! Fingers crossed for you this month, hopefully not a long cycle and you are on your way to a BFP.

I done the clearblue digital this morning and got a BFP I am very happy but still in disbelief. It said I am 1-2 weeks however my last period was on 11th June so I estimate 5 weeks, it should have been 3-4 weeks since conception, unless I OV'd later than I thought.

When to go to the doctors, this week or next week?

I've had heartburn most of the night last night- with DS I didn't get HB until the last trimester

row78 · 15/07/2010 09:48

fairy yay - congratulations! The time shown is time since conception and is not very reliable, just a estimate, so don't worry about that too much, just concentrate on celebrating!

AuntFlosAssassin · 15/07/2010 10:06

omg fairy im so delighted for you!! congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that break obv worked a treat!

A1 keep your chin up and i will be thinking about you. Hope its not growths .Good luck xx

I think af has arrived for me today, had some spotting this morning.think i might take a break out for a month or two.

TheDiceGirl · 15/07/2010 12:12

A1 thinking of you! Really really hope you're okay [massive hugs] and congratulations fairy! really happy for you. I'd say get to the doctor's this week but that's just me. assassin gp said he wanted to get me in for a scan to make sure i'm definitely not pg and to check for any other problems. So i'm waiting on a date for that now slowly but surely going mad lol.x

BloopBloop · 15/07/2010 12:40

hello everyone
(waves humbly)

I'm a bit new here and I'm afraid I dont know many acronyms

every couple of months when AF is a day or two late, DP notices and says something like "shouldn't you have come on by now?", and without fail within 12 hours of him pointing it out, I do.

It has happened so many times I think it is Definitly His Fault.
Would it be reasonable for me to gaffer tape his mouth shut this month so that i get a BFP?

Because my boobs hurt a bit, which is definitly a Sign
it has nothing to do with the fact that I am wearing a crappy bra and have done lots of running up and down stairs today (resulting in two black eyes)

swizzlestar · 15/07/2010 14:47

A1 thinking of you lovely and really hope you're ok x

fairy - huge congrats [grin}!!

bloop - gaffer tape sounds entirely reasonable imo

Hello to everyone else.

Just in work today, too early in cycle for anything interesting to be happening, although I maybe a volcano or stupid crappy bbt thermom is on the blink.......my temps have been off the graph {hmm], bloody useless thing.

AuntFlosAssassin · 15/07/2010 17:09

Yes Bloop im in the gaffer tape is entirely reasonable camp too .where abouts in your cycle are you at the mo?

Swizzle have you tested again recently? isnt consistently high temps a sign of pregnancy? maybe the bleed you thought was af was implantation?

Im feeling very sicky today, have been feeling nauseous since around lunchtime and have dodgy toilet habits too.booooo. If spotting hadnt arrived this morning id obv be convinced this is a sure symptom lol

Hows everyone else doing?

row78 · 15/07/2010 18:13

welcome bloop

do you have any other symptoms, such as a twitchy eye, or an itchy foot?
