Ridiculous Symptom Spotting... come on... you know you do...

millymoo1234 · 29/03/2010 21:22

OK, so since TTC I've thought (or wondered briefly) the following might be signs of being pregnant...

funny rash on my legs - still don't know what this was
three spots on my forehead - I was convinced this was a hormone induced 'breakout' as I don't normally get spots)
General bad mood - turns out I'm just grumpy
crazy dreams
needing a wee
not needing a wee
not liking the smell of coconut - weird
feeling very weepy and sore boobs - hmmm... this could have just been PMS!
stuffy nose

This month I have a massive craving for Mango which I'm normally indifferent to - I am of course CONVINCED that it's my month...

Am desperately trying to hold out till next weekend to test... I need distractions! anyone else had any funny symptoms and wondered if it could be a SIGN?

pleas join in the madness and let me know I'm not the only one! xxx

thats a good point seany! im cd13 but only really check my days when i come on here so quite relaxed at the mo and not as frantic and precise as last time! Im all calm and not bothered so far, not caring if this month isnt a success but it was the same last month then the 2ww was major stress! Had a great night out with dh majorly drunk so glad i got that out the way before i ovulate and my focal point is that if this month is a no go then im out next month and can eat drink and be merry. I suppose another advantage to having a feb/march baby is spending less of your pregnancy in the summer months so thats my positivity for today!

CherryBaby · 18/05/2010 18:07

hello everyone,

Sorry to hear ant...Hope we both have better luck next month.

I've been avoiding this thread as AF came in full force, and I was so dissapointed. I do feel slightly embarrassed about feeling about this, as its only the first month we've been TTC dc2...and I know it might come across as insensitive to people on here who have been trying for much longer - sorry, not meaning to offend or upset anyone, just wanted to come on hear and share my feelings.
I couldn't really tell my sis (who Im very close to) or best friend as they are both pregnant, and I didnt want them to feel that they cant talk to me about babies or go baby shopping with me - and I dont want to talk to DH about it because he'll just start worrying like he usually does about things - but I feel really worried about not being able to conceive again. I've heard and read about so many stories, and I'm terrified that I won't get pregnant again.
I know I'm totally overreacting, and that I should get myself together, it's only been one month for Gods sake....but I really had to get that off of my chest!

Thats it, moan over.

Any BFP's while I've been gone???

TheDiceGirl · 18/05/2010 21:37

Meh! BFN on saturday never mind, there's always next month. Baby dust to everyone else!

bossyboop · 19/05/2010 13:10

Hey cherry this is the right place for you as we are all in the same boat here, im also ttc #2 and last month was the 1st time. Weve been ttc on and off for 3 years and its been a rollercoaster and i hold my hands up and admit its been on my mind for most of that time and i suspect im pregnant most months even when on the pill. Other than dh theres only my best friend that knows we are ttc so dont have anyone really to talk to about it as we want it to be a surprise and dont want everyone staring at my tummy thinking is she or isnt she everytime i look bloated!

I went on a major food fest last month and gained a few pounds, managed to shift them now but i was trying to replace what i had lost which was of course my egg. I didnt cry or anything but it was sad.

Tho today is cd14 with ewcm dont know if the time is now or if ive missed the opportunity as been so tired the last few days and made the decision not to bother rather than do it for the sake of it but will have to get some energy for tonight tho not expecting anything this month but you never know.

What i do know is that im not going to buy another test until im late...!

tigersmummy · 19/05/2010 13:46

Hi everyone,

Can I join this thread? Have enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts - congratulations to all those who have been successful and good luck for all those who haven't been.

We have been TTC DC2 on and off for 2 months - tried March then didn't try in April but am now back on to it in May! I swear by ovulation kits as it helped with DS. Said I was ovulating last Wednesday but week on and I have cramps, quite painful at times. Does it sound like implantation pains? Didn't have them with DS, or if I did I didn't realise. No other specific symptoms as such - bit of sniffles and sore throat which came on suddenly last nite.

Anyone have any similar stories with possible implantation pains?

helloeggy · 19/05/2010 15:18

Confusing several recurrently-exploding, badly-diagnosed ovarian cysts for a smoothly-floating lucky egg this month is my new hobby, and I'm becoming a pro!

fairybubbles · 19/05/2010 19:03

Hi this thread is great! I'm only on first cycle TTC #2 and already I am symptom spotting which I swore I would'nt do. On CD16, think I OV early.

For the past 2 days I have had the most unimaginable fatigue, like I could put my head on my desk at work and fall asleep.

Peeing v frequently.

V hungry.

Lightheaded, comes and goes.

Grumpy and moody.

Swollen boobs.

Increased sense of smell, like I can smell everything so much clearer.

I'm not sure how long til I can test??

Good luck everyone TTC, may this be your month

tigersmummy · 19/05/2010 20:07

Its so easy to sympton spot though, fairybubbles, who can resist?!!!

Sounds like the familiar symptoms alright - I would wait to test once your period is late though, but that's just me. With certain Clearblue tests I think you can get a result 4 days prior to period, but unsure how reliable that is?

I just have an uneasy feeling in my stomach and feel quite tender 'down there' but who knows if it is linked?

fairybubbles · 19/05/2010 21:52

your right tigersmummy once you begin to think it may be possible you start to look for signs. I'm going to hold out as long as I can before testing, so prob not for another 2 weeks. Well the fatigue that I have battled all day seems to have lifted and I'm now fine, actually took DS to a birthday party at softplay this evening and felt great. I'm tired but it's a different kind of tired not like I was at 11am today!

On Monday I had pains on my right side, mild but tingly, lasted most of the day. I wouldn't compare it to period pain though, but def felt something. None since.

Hope you get your BFP this month.

bossyboop · 20/05/2010 09:54

Good to see some new additions here, good luck to us all! Think ive given up trying to predict my ovulation now, was sure it was early due to short cycles then a couple of times had ewcm a few days after that and last month was weird with bad cramps cd17 which i was sure could have been implantation but now think maybe that was ovulaion. But really no idea, may have a short luteal phase but too tired to think about it! Tho thats no longer a symptom as im tired most of the time should really do more exercise, eat better, get more fresh air and go to bed earlier yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

So possibly on 2ww now but havnt really put the effort in this month so not expecting anything tho glad its not on my mind as much as it was, too busy thinking about decorating and other delightful things!

bubblebrain · 20/05/2010 19:32

Hi bossyboop I feel the same. Had a 38 day cycle last month and had every symptom going. Two BFN later then AF arrived just to kick me when I was feeling down! Oh well maybe not concentrating so much will mean that we are caught unawares! Here's hoping. Good luck to everyone!! x

bubblebrain · 20/05/2010 19:32

ps no idea when ovulation occurs with me either and too tired to go for it for a whole month!! x

kareninhampshire · 20/05/2010 21:44

Hi
Am new to MN in general and this thread in paricular. Love your comments, laughing my head off as they could have been me! Been ttc for 2 1/2 years- have spotted every symptom under the sun, none of which have been real! Weird one this month though. AF 4 days early (day 25), hoped it was implantation bleeding. But BFN on day 28. Am still bleeding though- for 8 days now. AF never longer than 5 days. HAve had 6 m/c (2 of which were EP) so know what those feel like. Have no POAS in house so can't test again till I find time to buy new. Worth it though?? Anyone else had this and its been BFP after BFN and full bleed??

FancyALittle · 20/05/2010 22:03

Sorry to barge in with a question - but where do you get your pregnancy tests from? Somewhere reliable but cheap? Or are you all in debt from paying out £7 a pop and testing three times a day! ;-)

bossyboop · 21/05/2010 09:55

i just get the supermarket cheap ones 4 or 5 pounds for 2, they worked for dd tho sainsburys says it detects it up to 4 days early but trying to wait until im late before i buy again. Did resist buying a batch of those cheap sticks tho on the basis that next time i will only need one test and not a handful, heres hoping!

fairybubbles · 21/05/2010 19:59

I'd just buy cheap ones unless AF really late then I would maybe fork out for a digital one. Saying that I did one test when preg with DS, a CB Digital and got a BPF the day after AF was due.

I'm trying hard not to symp spot... im pretty sure im on 2ww now. I'm on CD18 of 28day cycle. I've decided I would ideally like a summer 2011 baba anyway so I can be off on Mat leave all over the summer, but we wanted to start TTC no2 incase it doesnt happen immed like DS.

TheDiceGirl · 22/05/2010 00:17

this is a bit stupid. But anyone else who is/was ttc their first, were you able to actually imagine being pregnant before it happened? I worry so much because when i try to picture it, i really can't still bfn and no af by the way! God knows what's going on with my cycle!

TheDiceGirl · 22/05/2010 00:23

there was meant to be a full stop after the word can't by the way, sorry, so tired tonight but can't sleep!

Adair · 22/05/2010 08:53

Thedicegirl, my first was er... a surprise (we were sort of not not trying ie using no contraception, but a little earlier than planned). I think I tested when about 6/7weeks pregnant as I suddenly thought 'hang on, I haven't had a period for a while' and pregnancy was playing on my mind... But absolutly no symptoms - apart from feeling a bit thicker around the waist than usual (a girl!).

With ds, dh reckoned he knew. Again, I hadn't really thought about it but did the test about a week after thought I was due and was surprised it was positive. No symptoms (and not so fat either - a boy!).

With this one (yes, am def pregnant). We were TRYING, lots of sex near ovulation and then I knew. I told dh I absolutely was. Had peeing lots and a few cramps and tired. But I just knew, I could feel things going on. And yes the contractions have stopped now! It was pretty scary - felt EXACTLY like when I was in labour. So much so, I had to remind myself that I did a preg test last month which was negative so couldn't be about to pop one out!!! Now am a bit more 'non-symptom'y. Waiting for the nausea to kick in... And am a bit thick round the waist already, so a girl? Or the curry we had last night?

Good luck all of you, sending you summery baby vibes!

seanybosmummysfedupwaiting · 22/05/2010 21:00

Hello to all the newbies and good luck!!

Adair really happy to hear you're feeling a lot less worried now than u were the other day. whens your edd btw?

How is everyone else doing? im on cd13 at the min and have bd every day since cd8 (apart from cd11 cause too tired).

Bossy i too am feeling very relaxed this month which im suprised at cause this was my last cycle on clomid and who knows what'll happen next. i am totally not thinking about it at all, have had a lovely relaxing day sitting in the back garden with ds's paddling pool out, a BBQ and a couple of drinks (which is very unlike me cause i only ever drink when im on a nite out, which is once in a blue moon)
Got totally burnt to a crisp today, didnt even realise til dp came back from the butchers and said omg have u seen the colour of you, you look like a lobster. he was right,i really do,and i have to get my photo taken on monday morning for a press release for a work thing,so hope its faded by then haha

Adair · 22/05/2010 21:21

Thanks seany! Yes, a lot less worried. EDD is somewhere around 29th Jan. Will prob be more like beg of Feb if last two anything to go by!

RElaxed is good, isn't it? Though perhaps not bright-red-relaxed. Here's to lots more relaxed summer baby-making (and fun trying).

CherryBaby · 23/05/2010 20:59

Wow seany, you've been busy ;-)

Im planning on BD EVERY day after AF finishes, lol...cant wait ;-)

And seany, i've done exactly the same today, got the paddling pool out for DD, hubby got the BBQ going and I just lay on a blanket on the lawn - not worrying or stressing about anything, just enjoying!

Congrats Adair! Hope your luck rubs off on us too x

CherryBaby · 23/05/2010 21:01

dicegirl....sorry to hear about the BFN....same happened here! lots of luck next month hun

bossyboop · 24/05/2010 10:35

seany that sounds like my weekend, i had such a nice time that babies just arent my focus right this second, im enjoying what ive got rather than longing for something extra, tho not sure how long that will last! Got about 8 or 9 days to go, but as i was tired and didnt really make use of all the key times i think its unlikely this month so im not really expecting anything so just going with the flow and it feels much better. Im possibly 5-7 dpo and not even symptom spotting. I hope i can keep feeling like this as if i revert back to baby madness its a long time till the end of next months cycle!

seanybosmummysfedupwaiting · 24/05/2010 13:23

my sentiments exactly Bossy. Im now cd15 and although i am very tired today i know its just cause i've been on my own on the front desk in work this morning and its been unbelievably busy and doesnt help that i was up late last nite either

I will be too busy getting ready for my holiday next wednesday so i will have no time to symptom spot or count cd's either, tho af will be due when i am away which is a bit of a bummer, but oh well i wont let it spoil my good mood

Cherry you're going to be soooo exhausted by the end of your next cycle!! lol

Ant where are you hiding? Hows the weather down your end of the country? Are you still in letterkenny??
