Ridiculous Symptom Spotting... come on... you know you do...

millymoo1234 · 29/03/2010 21:22

OK, so since TTC I've thought (or wondered briefly) the following might be signs of being pregnant...

funny rash on my legs - still don't know what this was
three spots on my forehead - I was convinced this was a hormone induced 'breakout' as I don't normally get spots)
General bad mood - turns out I'm just grumpy
crazy dreams
needing a wee
not needing a wee
not liking the smell of coconut - weird
feeling very weepy and sore boobs - hmmm... this could have just been PMS!
stuffy nose

This month I have a massive craving for Mango which I'm normally indifferent to - I am of course CONVINCED that it's my month...

Am desperately trying to hold out till next weekend to test... I need distractions! anyone else had any funny symptoms and wondered if it could be a SIGN?

pleas join in the madness and let me know I'm not the only one! xxx

Oh no I have stuffy nose this month and was hoping it was symptom.

Like you I have had every imagined symptom possible. Flushes, spot, extra cm, veins, tiredness, too much spit!! Embarrassing really.

JulesAbs · 30/03/2010 08:38

I've been thinking wow i have alot of saliva this month but really unless we are symptom spotted anyone ever thought about an averages days saliva mouth?

metallic taste is another one for me.

Oh and i didn't realise but stuffy nose.....really? Anyone now why?

Jules

I'm testing tomorrow morning!

Of course I forgot metallic taste, going off tea, exhausted and 'just feeling pregnant'.

Dirtgirl · 30/03/2010 12:50

I am sooo symptom spotting. Am convinced I'm pregnant but have to wait until 7th til I'm due on and it is still too early for an early pg test.

I've got really sore tits. Have had cramps (implantation pains?)

Going off wine and not craving my usual gazillion cups of coffee a day.

Hope I am. Can't remember how I felt last time and that was only Dec/January (miscarried).

millymoo1234 · 30/03/2010 12:53

Ooh - adding another one - skin round my mouth has gone really dry... hmmm... haven't had that before.

Dirtgirl - so sorry for you but it sounds like your symptoms aren't so ridiculous (like mine!)... going off wine and coffee sounds really positive (if you know what I mean)! I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you - kkeep us posted! x

...then of course there's funny smelling wee, bumps on nipples, hair not coming out in hairbrush... Really I've had (or imagined) them all.

...wanting sex, not wanting sex...

yellowflowers · 30/03/2010 15:18

oh and itchy or tender spots on feet, thrush like symptoms, milk smelling off (it was off!)...

Bicnod · 30/03/2010 19:22

I'm convinced the stuffy nose means I'm pg now thanks to yellowflowers

millymoo LOL at "General bad mood - turns out I'm just grumpy" - yep, that'll be me as well

Wholelottalove · 30/03/2010 20:29

Ooh, ooh can I join?

The cat brought in a mouse the other night, and the only time he's ever done that before was when I was 36 weeks pg with DD (he's v old) I've decided it's a sign!

Dirtgirl I'm waiting to 9th - seems ages doesn't it?

I've got a stuffy nose too, didn't realise that was a sign

I have sore boobs. But I had sore boobs last month too - I think it may be pms.

decafgirl · 30/03/2010 20:49

...too embarrassed to admit symptom spotting when so obviously on an anovulatory cycle xxx

InMyPrime · 30/03/2010 21:37

Oh dear... guilty as charged! I hate the two week wait!!

Every month since we've been trying, I've been having weird symptoms and different changes in my cycle (TTC round 4) and I keep obsessing that every change means I'm pregnant. I just have no idea what's normal for my cycle now since my hormones seem to be all over the place...

Last month I thought I was pregnant because I had bloating, lots of CM and 'felt pregnant' - obviously just my imagination. This month I have sore breasts, sharp pains on my left side, cramps and fatigue, which all sounds very hopeful except for the fact that I still have 7 days until my period so it's probably far too early to have symptoms this strong. Knowing my luck it's probably just a very weird, hormone-charged late ovulation or something... never imagined getting pregnant could be such an unscientific process!

SparrowGirl · 30/03/2010 21:46

Oh, I think i can join this game!

Last month it was all about the sore breasts, this month I had some crazy cramping all the other night through yesterday. Not so much today so have half convinced myself it was implantation.

I also keep finding myself trying to work out if my nipples look darker which is clearly a damn stupid thing to get caught doing of an evening by the DP

Of course the problem is that all the symptoms of pregnancy are things that happen before my period every damn month! Sore breasts from ov to AF, cramping, I even get a bit of a cold with snuffly nose a few days before AF is due

yellowflowers · 30/03/2010 21:55

Oh no ignore me. I'm a terrible symptom spotter yet never yet been right.

SparrowGirl · 30/03/2010 22:14

On the bright side Yellow, sooner or later you will be right. This might be the month

Prinpo · 30/03/2010 22:39

Millymoo, I craved mango with my first two so you never know... (apparently it's a common craving).

OK, so symptoms: sore boobs (obviously), screaming at the kids, being 'sensitive' to smells (actually just bin that needed emptying), driving like a maniac and not being able to park, feeling bloated (nothing to do with choc, guv'nor) and feeling tired.

I wonder what the worst/best part of the month is? The 2 week wait? Period? Build up to ovulation? Ovulation? Answers on a postcard.

pipsicles · 30/03/2010 23:33

Hello All! I'm brand new to all this, though on TTC round 4 now. Am absolutely 100% convinced that this is the month - really wierd sore boobs that aren't tender, but definately hurt like they never have before, strange sense of smell - cat's litter tray made me feel rough 3 days after ovulation (You're probably thinking that it doesn't smell that great anyway, and you're right, but I was over the other side of the room!). But I guess the weirdest and probably least scientific is that I just don't 'feel like' I'm going to come on tomorrow!

I've been getting so excited today and DD doesn't quite get it. Going to test on Thursday morning, but DD wants me to wait til Saturday - Saturday?! He doesn't want me to 'waste' a test!!!

Desperately hope I'm right, otherwise I'll be feeling rather sad and very embarrassed in a couple of days time!

ljg72 · 31/03/2010 07:43

good luck pipsicle!!!! I'm testing Friday ;-)

yellowflowers · 31/03/2010 10:42

good luck all.

Hope you;re right sparrowgirl. Not been pg yet though and trying for over 2 years.

Still got runny nose though... (but no other symptoms).

Prinpo - now I am going to start craving mango. Bugger.

Prinpo · 31/03/2010 12:06

pipsicles, no, no, no - you never tell the menfolk that you're testing. They're far too sensible about it all and see no problems with waiting until a few days after AF due to test, just to be sure. Christ, we could have paid the mortgage off with the amount I've spent on tests!

Loujalou · 31/03/2010 18:20

Have got cramps - Fertility Friend told me that 20% of people have cramps this time of their cycle. Am on day 23 surely its too early for the bitchy witch to appear.

pipsicles · 31/03/2010 19:16

Tested this evening and it said I was wrong, but I'm protesting. I'm still convinced I am! I won't believe it until AF arrives!!!

Other symptoms today - stuffy nose (still not sure about this one though?!) and crying at things that are not worth crying about (except not being pg, as I think it's lying - hopeless optimist I am!) I'm glad I bought the two pack! Thanks for the advice about the menfolk Prinpo - I won't tell him when I do the next one.
