So a slightly lighter and less scary thread for those who are chucking away the pills and the condoms and hoping for the best!

Hi, can I join you please??!

Had my mirena removed two weeks ago, had a period and now we're just going for it! I think I'm ovulating as I have period type pains, which is what I used to get.

Dh would luuurve a boy, so we're half heartedly swaying, but tbh as I'm 39 (40 in Sept) we just want a bfp!!

Have not got a clue what most of the abbreviations so sure I will be asking dumb questions at some point !

loopeylu · 25/06/2010 11:44

Takethatlady don't be silly! You're not being self-centred at all and don't worry about the super early miscarriage. It happens a LOT and most people don't even realise it.

Pregnancy ok so far. Much more stressed about whether it is all ok this time round. First time round I hardly gave it a thought until the 12 week scan (I got away with feeling completely fine). 8.5 weeks and desperate to have the scan to know it is for real. This wait feels worse than the 2 week wait! Working hard, missing the grog HUGELY and feeling nauseous every now and again....and whacked.

Enjoy the Pimms I say!

BrassicaBabe · 25/06/2010 12:45

only half able to catch up while working, but didn't want to drop off the face of the world.

Sorry you're body is messing you around takethat Will stop by properly shortly

I'm going slightly barmy too this week.

takethatlady · 25/06/2010 14:04

Oh no brassica, I hope the barminess is a good, JS kind of barminess, and not something horrible. I am finding it impossible to work, and am about to get busted .... back later.

BrassicaBabe · 25/06/2010 18:28

I'm grabbing some time to catch up properly....

gormers I vote "yes" for the woman's right to shag! Write a letter to your boss now demanding the time off.

Welcome harder I wonder if some sneaky TTC is going on pre-November?! And Swizzle, I'm in the post-35 category too.

for takethat explaining big O pains to GP. Nice one. If you ov'ed only 10 days ago could it not be too early to test? I remember you talking about pant-snot (or something equally lovely ) not that long ago.... And I vote that you def have a drink!

Right, let's put the cards on the table....maybe....am I allowed to admit the level of my mentalness because there's no-one else to talk to? Or are we hiding under the blanket, I mean shag-cape, of JSing and keeping schtum?!

takingtheplunge · 25/06/2010 19:56

spill the beans on this mentalness brassica.

takethatlady · 25/06/2010 20:08

Yep, spit it out. What can be more humiliating than taking numerous pregnancy tests and getting all different results, telling your friends you're pregnant when you're not, and then having a conversation about orgasms with your GP? Come on, take the heat off me brassica!

BrassicaBabe · 25/06/2010 20:16

Ok. "My name is Brassica and I've been using OPKs and Fertility Friend and I'm mental" Alcoholics Anonymous stylee

I my defense I'm a control freak and while I'm mental I think I'm less mental than I would be if I wasn't, cough, cheating on you guys.

First 2 months no ovulation and mid-cycle bleeding. 3rd month positive OPK and much rejoicing. 4th month and same day as positive OPK last month and so far nothing. Don't know whether I'm coming or going! (Ok, lots of JSing so mainly the former )

Please don't kick me out!

BrassicaBabe · 25/06/2010 20:17

Oh and the final humiliation...I know what EWCM stands for

takingtheplunge · 25/06/2010 20:26

I not only know what all the acronyms stand for, I have been checking my pants for EWCM and altho not sunk to the depths of charting my temps, I do have a better idea than I should of when I'm probabl going to ovulate.

My name is takingtheplunge and I am a ttc aholic.

BrassicaBabe · 25/06/2010 20:29

frakkit is going to kick our arses!

takethatlady · 25/06/2010 20:33

Oh brassica and plunge, I think we can forgive each other's infidelities. I've taken (ahem) 20 tests this week. Yes, 20. I have five more in my drawer and two more First Responses. I know when I take them that they will be negative, but then I just can't resist. My DH has taken one too, as a control test to see if we can reproduce my weird positives. I also did one with water today, to see if I could reproduce it. I am very irritated that the BBT thermometer I ordered has not arrived yet. I have created false positives by unsticking the wick from the celluloid strip (I think). My friend sent me a chart in the post and I'm very tempted to use it. I have just asked my husband to feel both sides of my stomach and tell me if one side is hotter than the other, to which he replied 'did you ever hear of Mary I?' (phantom preggo).

frakkit is going to kill us. And we deserve it. [hides in shame]

takethatlady · 25/06/2010 20:34

We just cross-posted about frakkit. frakkit is the JS police and we've all just confessed. We need a JS jail...

BrassicaBabe · 25/06/2010 20:39

I've done 3 OPKs today. 1 expensive one and 2 cheapies. I bought a pack of 50 cheapies from the internet. I also know where my cervix is supposed to be when I'm most fertile.

Which is why I'm slightly mental...I've got EWCM (or is it last nights semen?!!, sorry TMI), a cervix in the right place, but a negative OPK. So for my redeeming feature we're still JSing. And DH seems to be enjoying the challenge [wink[]

takethatlady · 25/06/2010 20:52

I think you're fine then brassica - you are JSing whatever happens. I admire your spirit! We haven't JSed for a week because DH had diarrhoea (much TMI) and no energy. I have been like a nympho this week, and am getting pretty tense!

i reckon just go for it - I've heard the OPKs can be tricky to use and it's easy to get things wrong with them. So if you've got snot-pants and high temps, I say now's the time...

BrassicaBabe · 25/06/2010 21:00

I hope frakkit will forgive us. I feel better for sharing.

Yeah, we're still going to go for it. (I'm not temping) I think DH has another few days in him yet before he starts feeling used

Rats on the diarrhoea front takethat*. Are you being sympathetic or passing the rubber bands and lolly sticks and telling him to pull himself together?!

takethatlady · 25/06/2010 21:03

He's over it now. I couldn't help but think it was a ploy to get some days off for the football (he managed 2 days off, including the England match, and to get out of coming with me to my dad's on Sunday). I was sympathetic, but I might use it against him later

Glad you shared!

takingtheplunge · 25/06/2010 21:03

brassica...cervix positioning knowledge...that's hard core. I DO hope you're not checking its position digitally shall we say?

gormers · 25/06/2010 21:34

Ladies, this is hilarious!!! I can't wait til strict teacher Ms Frakkit comes back!! Feel like I'm in school watching the slightly naughty kids!!

OH is back in the same building ( same land mass actually - he works on the isle of Wight). So, let the catch-up shag a thon begin!!!xx

gormers · 25/06/2010 21:37

Ps - I would LOVE it if we all got preggers at the same time; I'd love to carry our "I promise I'm nonchalent really" thread through to pregnancy and child-rearing!!

cowboylover · 26/06/2010 00:01

I love it, thanks all for making me smile after a tough day x

takethatlady · 26/06/2010 08:23

cowboy, why so tough?

Do people think I'm okay to drink at my party today? Even if I actually ovulated on the pant-snot day (15th) I am now 11 dpo. It has been 6 weeks and 2 days since my last period. I took a First Response and an ultra-sensitive internet cheapie this morning - both negative. Apparently First Response is 98% accurate three days before period (which I would be). I only JSed once since 15th, which was last Saturday, but the EWCM had gone by then. So I very much doubt I am pregnant.

On the opposite side of the case, I have sore boobs (not the nipples, just the lower part of the boob beneath the nipple - it feels like faint bruising) and have had strange tugging pains in my left abdomen since Tuesday (and a weird heat coming from it that my DH could feel yesterday), but nothing else that could be remotely called a symptom.

Would anybody else risk it? It's Pimms I've got my eye on!

BrassicaBabe · 26/06/2010 08:40

Yes I would drink takethat. My opinion is that you can't put your life on hold, who knows how long this JSing will take. It's mental enough without going teetotal too. But like I said, that's just me.

Hope you are okay cowboy

Find myself a bit this morning. DH and I went to the pub last night. He's quite on-board with this JSing thing so was only going to have a couple. Humph he had too many and fell asleep without JSing! Rather cross that I'm crosss!

OPK/Charting or simply JSing I have no idea how anyone stays sane in this TTC lark. Charting etc and there's too much information and it's not the information you want. JSing and there's no information and you don't know which way is up. I'm quite frustrated (No throwing my legs in the air last night maybe ), I don't know how I'm supposed to relax and get on with it.....

almostknockedupgirl · 26/06/2010 09:20

Hello ladies! Sorry been MIA all week, but between shagging, and working late and being much too tired to shag, it's been hard to get online.

I've been cracking up at the thread while catching up though, especially at all the confessions of secret mental behaviour. I think it must be really hard to be at this for months without resorting to some means of guaging where you roughly are in your cycle. If we're all confessing to cycle watching (like spring watch without the tv cameras, except in vallinnapod's case ), then I'd better spill the beans too - I can't help but be aware of where I am in my cycle (and I might have a wee app on my phone that reminds me). I don't use any temping or ov sticks though, I'm one of those irritating women who just gets really obviously regular signs as my body does its thing, but I totally confess to knowing that I'm ovulating today, and therefore having wild sex last night with plans for more today when the hubs gets home.

Phew.

I suppose jail-time is reserved for who limit shagging to 'fertile windows' only? I promise I've been just shagging the hubs whenever possible anyway. Please don't kick me off this thread as everywhere else is way too scary!

takethat how utterly rubbish what you've been through with the changeable results. At least the bloods will say for sure. But really lady, back away from the pregnancy tests! Have a fab birthday, enjoy the Pimms, and plase try not to pee on anything else till the blood tests at least!? That way madness lies...

I vote we all get preggers this month and go on to create havoc on the antenatal boards with a thread of nonchalant awesomeness. loopeylu, sorry to hear you've not yet found a really happy home over there. Fingers crossed a bunch of us can come join you soon.

Hope everyone's having a fantastic weekend. I'm going back to almost dying of hayfaver, since antihistamines apparently reduce your fertility (why did I choose June to start this thing?!?!?!), but with a lovely long week of shagging to look forward to as we've got the week off! Huzzah!

almostknockedupgirl · 26/06/2010 09:23

And that post was redonkulously mememe but I'm on my phone and can't read back as I type very well. Welcome to the newbies! And many wishes of shagging superpowers to everyone!
