So a slightly lighter and less scary thread for those who are chucking away the pills and the condoms and hoping for the best!

OP posts:
takethatlady · 16/06/2010 18:30

That's what I'm hoping frakkit. I'll be doing headstands all night!

BrassicaBabe · 16/06/2010 19:18

Can only stop my briefly, not properly caught up yet with the days happenings....

But I seoncond the "throw your legs in the air" for takethat!! (Loveing that phrase by the way!)

I'll stop by later when dinner is over and DH back out at work. (I'm def a secret MNer)

Miffles · 16/06/2010 20:15

You guys crease me up!! Haven't had much chance to comment, and nothing is happening my end so not much to say, but you certainly make my smile!

Plan on "throwing my legs in the air" tonight - even if, like vallinna i have no clue when ov will be happening. it kind of helps to think we're doing something constructive!

Good luck all of you - keep the laughs coming!

almostknockedupgirl · 16/06/2010 22:56

Meh, I'm very jealous of all you ladies with your legs up. The hubs is working nights at the moment, so no action for me. Thank goodness it's only day 5 of my cycle. (Not that I'm counting or anything...)

BrassicaBabe MN is definitely a secret from the hubs. He already thinks I've gone slightly batshit crazy, what with wanting to eat up other people's cute babies and all. If he knew that I was obsessively reading entire forums about it as well???

cowboylover and alien, how did it go? Hope all was well, and you are now happily de-coiled!

I like the sound of them scissors. Not sure if the hubs will though.

Right, I'm off to dig in my toy box and keep myself entertained. (And in practice. Gotta limber up!) See you shaggettes later.

cowboylover · 16/06/2010 22:57

Well the coil is out and it fiddent hurt half as much as I thought it would so im glad about that and now waiting to see what happens next...

almostknockedupgirl · 16/06/2010 23:15

Yay cowboylover! Now go throw those legs up!

takethatlady · 17/06/2010 11:25

Hi guys,

Well, DH had a bad cold when I thought it was the middle of my cycle, now there's a small, strange chance the time is now I am now doing nothing but cough and sneeze and sleep. Can barely lift my legs let alone hold them there!

At least I got one in on Weds.

Glad the de-coiling was relatively painless! On with the shagging!

knittakid · 17/06/2010 17:53

Now the fun begins cowboylover!

Would anybody tell me how long should I hold having a wee if I'm testing tonight?

takethatlady · 17/06/2010 19:29

Ooh knittakid how exciting! I reckon hold it for four hours at least, six or even eight if you can make it... Let us know what happens!

I just had the most annoying conversation with my unbelievably controlling mother, who said 'when you get pregnant, and when it's nearly time for the baby to come [weird enough phrasing in itself], can I come?' Once before she asked me if she could watch me give birth 'because I've never seen it from that end before' (I am not joking), so I said 'well, not to the hospital', and she said, annoyed, 'obviously not to the hospital! We wouldn't have time to get there anyway, would we? [she lives two hours away, so she knows full well she would.] But to your house. i want to be there to help you'. I do not want her to be there to help me, because that means to patronise me, override all my thoughts and feelings, and then act hurt or get angry if I have my own point of view. This woman is mental. Had to get that off my chest.

How's it going cowboy and alien? Hope you're making the most of your new-found freedom!

cowboylover · 17/06/2010 19:43

Thats crazy takethat!

My MIL said the otherday at sunday dinner she had better be getting used to having 1 grandchild only as I dont seam the mothering kind! Give me a chance we have only been married 2 months but I bit my lip as seeing her face when we announce it

DH is working shifts now for the next few nights so will have to wait til next week.

How you feeling alien?

knittakid · 17/06/2010 19:55

Ooops, didn't manage that, and it was a BFN...

Mums eh? I have got mine to sign an agreement saying that she will not come to stay with us (if and) when. She admits that having her mum there was even more traumatic than giving birth (well, it was a cessarean...)

takingtheplunge · 17/06/2010 20:06

Hello, can I join?

Been planning to ttc no2 from next month but getting impatient and have had a couple of slip-ups (including this afternoon) and got carried away and did the deed without a condom!

Only just finished my period, so too early for ovulation but it got me thinking, with one child already it's not like we're at it like rabbits, so might take a while, so why not get going a month earlier? That's my excuse anyway . Been on folic acid for a couple of weeks as I knew we'd be ttcing v soon...see how I've been building up to this..?

takethatlady · 17/06/2010 20:33

Try again in the morning knitta. You never know! And welcome takingtheplunge! I like your thinking . You've also just reminded me I should be taking my folic acid. I ran out the other day and the new ones are in a bag in my wardrobe. Haven't taken it for 3 days. Whoops!

cowboy that contract sounds amazing! Where can I get me a copy? [Starts to imagine all the amazing things she could put on this contract and get her mother to sign...] I think I just need to get a bit of mother-repellent. It's like insect repellent but it smells nicer

Grannyapple · 17/06/2010 23:18

Omg-how funny r these posts -haven't laughed so much in ages, well cheered me up.

Hmm-mothers/MIL's, they really are a law unto themselves!! Know what they say-'families-can't pick them really'.

knittakid · 18/06/2010 18:07

Did another test this morning and got a VVFTP (very very faint thin possitive). very faint.

Will do another one tomorrow morning, see what happens.

This posts keep me sane!

takingtheplunge · 18/06/2010 19:03

sounds hopeful knittakid ! You know what they say, a positive is a positive! Will it be your first baby?

knittakid · 18/06/2010 20:37

Do they say that? thanks takingtheplunge!
It'd be the first, however unreal it seems now.

will keep you posted!

cowboylover · 18/06/2010 22:40

Good luck knittakid! I will be thinking of you in the morning and a positive is a positive x

knittakid · 19/06/2010 09:18

I'm not sure I want to post those words, seems like tempting fate! the line was there again today, both DH and I leanning over it discussing 'is it a line or is it not?' etc.

Thank you all for your good wishes, and keep positive! lingerie also helps...

Xxxx

Grannyapple · 19/06/2010 09:41

Ooh knittakid-a very tentative congratulations!...

takingtheplunge · 19/06/2010 10:02

Congratulations knittakid ! I've heard there is no such thing as a false positive, as if it comjes up +ve it's cos there is pregnancy hormone there. Can't remember the details, so not much help there.

frakkit · 19/06/2010 11:03

Ooooh very faint congrats, knittakid! Keep us up to date

It's true most pregnancy tests rely on there being HCG in your urine so if it's producing a reaction then the hormone is probably present! A faint line just means a low concentration.

alien82 · 19/06/2010 11:22

hey cowboylover, takethatlady and everyone else

well I am no coil free and looks the the ERTD is on its way already..... now to remember to keep sugar level up as used to faint loads!
how are u all?x

takethatlady · 19/06/2010 12:36

Wow knittakid! Congratulations!!! Are you calling the docs? Is your DH excited?! How long were you trying for?

So nice to wake up to good news on a Saturday . Especially when it's not long after a legs akimbo moment ...

Still no sign of anything at my end - BFN again this morning and no AF. Have also bought a BBT thermometer on ebay [quickly spins out of shag-cape and dons sowester in anticipation of fish-slaps coming her way...]. A friend told me if I was going to be this irregular I should use the thermometer because I'll feel proactive and I'll get a picture of what is going on. Excuses excuses, I know ... not sure whether to use it when it arrives?

Congrats again knitta! Keep us posted!

gormers · 19/06/2010 12:56

Ooh - congrats knitta!

I'm on the precipice of entering the 'window' and handily OH starts nights so I won't see him for a week - I think as soon as you officially start trying the world does it's best to conspire against you!!

Oh well, we'll be JS when we can, and keeping some fingers crossed!

Takethat - you have the exact right attitude there, just keep up the JS when your cycle is doing it's own thing and not keeping you informed! I won't slap you for the thermometer, I'd have gone much more nutty than that!

At least the football is so rubbish, we can cheer our boys up with a bit of JS football distraction!
