Pops i say nice things because it's true, you really do deserve your baby after all you have been through, sorry if i sound soppy lol, we really could be at the same ante natal and not even know. Still find it wierd that you live near by

Fairy can you not ask to have iui whilst your waiting for ivf? Your BFP is next, i have a feeling.

Cloud we had iui which included clomid and menopur injections. How long have you been trying, will your gp not refer you to a Fertility clinic? Hope you get you BFP soon

stac14 · 05/08/2010 01:15

cloudy my cons wanted me monitored every month, have to say i only ov'd once on clomid and that was 100mg. It just wasnt for me. Rileigh was conceived while i was on metformin for the pcos hun. I am in scotlad so another pct with different rules

fairy when cons said our next move was ivf i asked for metformin as it would help my pcos rather than fertility but it must do something x

popsy1 · 05/08/2010 19:20

Hi ladies hope you are all having a good week. It's my birthday tomorrow so we are going away for the weekend
stac my 12 week scan isnt until 1st sept as the consultant is away on holiday. She's going to do an indepth scan and knows our history so we want to have it with her.

lady DH and i were only saying the other day how bizarre it is that we both live in the same town. How are you feeling now? Have you told anyone?

fairy hows your holiday? Yep I have facebook whats your addy?

Cloud i was talking 100mg clomid and metformin, had to twist the cons arm for metformin though. I had my appoinmtents at a fertility clinic and they monitored me until they had me on the right dose. I would keep pushing for monitoring.

OMG I go away for a week and look what happens! Congrats lady and yes, the crampy type thing is quite normal and is just your body starting to adjust to pregnancy. Fingers crossed for your scan!

And congrats pops so delighted for you, you absolutely deserve some happiness, keeping my fingers crossed for your next scan, I know its hard not to worry so I won't say not too. One deadline at a time. My boobs/nipples were sore but now its just my nipples. Not sure thats a good thing, I'm already wincing thinking about BF . Glad you've got the consultant doing your scan, I think it helps to know they take us and our worries seriously. And happy birthday for tomorrow, hope you have a lovely day.

cloud welcome, I think your GP is quite switched on to suggest you stopped ov'ing after your miscarriage. When I lost my baby 2 years ago my periods went completely up the spout and having got pregnant in 3 months that time its taken much much longer this time, his response was 'you're still grieving I'm not surprised you're not pregnant'. How helpful is that - I'll always grieve my loss. Idiot. I was quite shocked by the time I was referred to a consultant that I stopped ov'ing as well as pregnancy has come easily to me in the past. I thought all that was fine, its was just my periods that were mega heavy. (BTW Different GP now!)

fairy can't believe you miscarried, I'm so sorry. Hope you haven't had any well-meaning but cr*ppy comments to contend with. Yes, addy for FB please!

I'm completely pooped after a week in london, we did 5 days and 2 of legoland. I asked DS what was the best bit of London- the giant escalators on the Tube lol! Sure we could have gone somewhere much cheaper for them! He did enjoy it, but he's not used to all the walking bless him.

Will be keeping a close eye on you all!

Just to let you know I've got my appointment with another GP in the practise later today, and am fully prepared to charm him/ cry/ beg for monitoring even if it's only a blood test on day 21 each month, till I get referred. We're going on holiday this afternoon Smile but will let you know what happens when I get back.

stac- Congrats on baby success!!!!!! That's exactly my concern that i may have ov'd on the month I had a blood test and not since. Fingers crossed for later.

Fairy- NW England. Don't you have to have break between IVF cycles then? Am not very clued up about our next step yet... probably slightly in denial if I'm honest.

Ladybird- Thank you, so do I! We conceived my son easily and we were advised to wait at least 3 years after his very difficult birth. I conceived again after a very surpising 'one hit wonder' but sadly miscarried. I suppose I just presumed I was fertile, so it's come as a total shock to struggle for the last year especially as I feel time is no longer on our side Sad I hope that doesn't sound unfeeling or insensitive to any of you- I do realise I am sooo lucky to have a child already.

jobo- what you said really struck a chord with me. Good luck to you!

Will pop back and show off my tan (or lack of it) Smile

Fairygodmother1 · 06/08/2010 20:04

Not Cumbria whereabouts as thats where my best friend lives.

Had dr app & been refered back to hosp. Feel like a yo-yo!!!!

OP posts:
jobobpip08 · 06/08/2010 20:19

hi fairy
thats cr*p about being yo-yo'ed. Be nice if they could move forwards a bit more. Tried your FB addy and can't get it to work but that said I'm not much of a tecchie since I gave up work.

cloud Getting regular blood tests would be a good idea if you can, at least you know for certain then. I'm 39, turned 37 just after I lost DS2 and have felt time ticking away ever since then! So I know exactly how you feel. I think it goes against you when you do have a child - everyone assumes you DONT have a problem when you might/do. Very Envy thinking of you going somewhere nice, lying in the sun....... Not that London wasn't nice, it just wasn't relaxing lol!

Have a lovely weekend everyone

popsy if you get fairy add me too, my profile pic is rileigh

cloudy have you been referred to a consultant? Do you have a diagnosis?

How are the rest of you ladies? Are you making another thread? My sis was taken into hospital with a suspected appendicitis and they have now said it was a burst ovarian cyst, i am quite annoyed though as she hasnt had a scan or blood tests they have based thier diagnosis on an assumption. I have told her when she goes to the docs then shes to push for tests especially as this can reoccur. So mad at the hospital for being so lax in her care x

highheelsandequations · 08/08/2010 13:02

Hi ladies, I am now back from holidays unfortunately and very reluctant to get back to real life! Very glad to see there is more good new here pops congratulations to you. Hope you and lady and your little beans are all well.

Hi cloudy I'm a newbie here too and everyone has been very nice to me.

Can I ask you knowledgable ladies a question? I'm currently on my 3rd cycle of clomid and was told at the clinic that if we weren't successful after 3 cycles we would need to go back for me to have my tubes checked with the dye test (is it called a HSG or something?) before deciding on the next move. So in theory I should not take any more tablets. But I still have some left and am tempted to take another cycle. However I have also read quite a few success stories about the month after clomid so was wondering whether I'd actually be better having a break for a cycle and then when if we're still not successful sneakily taking another round of the pills. I know it's terrible thinking of taking them without dr telling me to but what do you think?

popsy1 · 08/08/2010 20:12

Hello ladies. Just back from my weekend away and thought id check in. DH thoroughly spoilt me for my birthday:)
Hi highheels, i think i would enquire as to how long you would have to wait to have your tubes tested and then go from there. If its not long they tell you to take precautions anyway. Thank you so much for your congrats:)
Fairy i'm friends with jo and my initials are NMB

Hope everyones had a lovely weekend

xx

Ladybird10 · 08/08/2010 20:23

Pops Happy belated Birthday, hope you had a nice weekend away, it's my brthday next weekend and dp has booked a posh hotel in London for the weekend. Lookinf forward to that :)
I'm ok, just a bit of nausea most days but that's about the only thing i have, oh and cramps every now and then. Keep thinking i should have sore boobs. But i hardly every get sore boobs anyway. Thought being pg would make me feel rough but i feel so well. Hope that's a good sign. How are you? We have told all of our close family and 2 of our friends as they knew we were having treatment but thats all, still feels like we have told loads of people, just hope we haven't jinxed it! Have you told anyone?

Jobo sounds like you had fun in London, it is very exhausting though as lots of walking involved, i bet it was nice to get away :) bless your ds saying the best bit was the escalators :)

Cloud hope you have a nice holiday and come back to a frest start. That wasn't insensitive about saying time isn't on your side, i think alot of people think that when they get to a certain age. I don't know how old you are but alot of women are still having children way in to their 40's. The good thing is you have conceived before, i have my fingers crossed for you :)

Thanks clure hope your doing ok?

Stac hope your sister is ok. She definately needs to push for tests, it's crazy how the hospital can just make an assumption like that.

Highheels hope you had a lovely holiday, it's always hard to get back to real life after being away. I'm always down when i get back from being abroad. Kepp positive :)
I was advised the same thing from my clinic, to take 3 months of clomid and then go back, i found i was in extreme pain every month from clomid around ov time so i was glad to only take 3 months. When i went back after 3 months they referred me for iui.

Sending lots of babydust to all you lovely ladies xxxx

Ladybird10 · 08/08/2010 20:26

Pops glad you had a nice Birthday weekend away, it's always good to be spoiled :)

Fairygodmother1 · 08/08/2010 21:08

Stac hope your sister is ok! Thats really bad of the hosp but we shouldn't ex[ect any diff with the way some of us have been treated. Def push for tests!

Pops will add you in a sec. Happy b'day! We had fam round for my B-i-l's b'day. As Jo & I have agreed - what happens on Mumsnet stays on mumsnet, not walls on FB! Grin

Highheels I was given 6 months then told to go back if not pg. We're all told different things!

OP posts:
popsy1 · 08/08/2010 21:12

Yep jo n I have the same agreement:) be nice to put a face to a name hun :)
Sorry stac hope yr sister is ok. Xx
