Fairy glad your ok, i was also getting a bit worried as you hadn't posted for a while, Hopefully you will fall pg between now and getting your bmi to 29, so many people conceive when their bmi is higher than it should be.

Popsy big hugs for you, i'm sure you had a lovely day at the seaside, your very brave and i hope i would be the same if i was put in the same situation. These things must make us stronger. When will you be testing? Hope this is your month.

Stac yeah i'm doing iui this month, i'm on my 3rd clomid tablet, feels wierd taking them again, no side effects yet, hopefully there wont be any. Good Luck for wednesday.

popsy1 · 05/07/2010 21:01

Thanks lady and Jo, hugs are always gratefully received I knew July wasnt going to be an easy month, what with the annniversary and i should be going on maternity at the end of term. But my hubby is amazing and i am just keeping busy.
I wont test til the weekend at the earliest lady, still feel that AF is just around the corner. Really good luck to you lady.

xx

Clure · 05/07/2010 22:45

stac - loads of luck on wednesday, will be thinking of you xx

beckylou85 · 06/07/2010 00:48

hi all, lady if iui wasn't working then i'd go to ivf but fingers crossed it will work .
stac i go on the 21st of july for the nurse to show me how i inject myself and then i start on my next cycle after my appointment which (fingers crossed) will actually be my next cycle, i'm really excited .
glad to hear from fairy, we were getting worried about you,
how is everyone else?
good luck to all ttc xxx

Ladybird10 · 09/07/2010 20:19

Thanks popsy, how are you getting on? you must be close to cd40 by now?

Becky hope it works for you, just like i hope it works for me too

I've started my injections, had my first one on wed cd6, went to the hospital and the nurse showed me how to do it, did the 2nd one today, was a bit nervous as didn't want to mess it up. Felt a bit sad that i was injecting myself as i thought i would get pg naturally and didn;t think it would come to sticking needles in myself, hey ho. Just got to get on with it. All i can say is that women who get pregnant easily are so lucky.

Hope everyone is ok, it's going to be a gorgeous weekend

highheelsandequations · 13/07/2010 16:44

Hi Ladies,

Not sure of the etiquette as I'm new here, but can I join? On cycle 2 of clomid and currently on CD18. Been ttc for about 12 months now after diagnosis of PCOS confirmed about 14 months ago. Getting very fed up with all the watching and waiting and tracking dates every month but really hoping for some good news soon that will make it all worthwhile!

Ladybird10 · 15/07/2010 20:08

Welcome highheels hope you have luck on clomid, how are you finding it? I haven't really had any side effects this month apart from headaches but i get them quite alot anyway.

Popsy where are you? Did af get you? hope not

Haven't heard from fairy for a while, hope she is ok.

I had the insemination yesterday cd13, i had a nice mature follicle on my left ovary which was 22mm and 2 smaller ones on the right 18mm and 15mm. Dp had 28 million washed swimmers which is good for iui. Hopefully it will work but i know the success rate is only 15 -20%, i have been told to take a pg test in 14 days if af doesn't arrive by then

xx

highheelsandequations · 16/07/2010 11:07

fingers crossed for you lady and lots of babydust to you!

I'm not finding clomid has too many side effercts but I have been having splitting headaches, still it will be worth it ion the end (fingers and toes and everything else crossed).

Thanks for letting me join in, sending cookies to everyone!

jobobpip08 · 16/07/2010 19:42

welcome highheels everyone is lovely here. Thanks for the cookies! Thie side effects I got on 100mg were tiredness and depression. It did kickstart my ovulation tho and when I took a month off I got pregnant, so one way or another it seems to work!

lady 28 million sounds like plenty! The success rate 'normally' is about 25%, so 15-20% sounds quite good to me. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

pops fairy how goes things with you? You must be looking forward to the end of term. I was in school this afternoon helping and the kids were all manic! Definitely time for a break - we finish next Thursday.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend

Ladybird10 · 20/07/2010 16:11

Thankyou highheels, hope the headaches have settled down, but yes it will be worth it if clomid works.

jobo will you be finding out what your having?
The 28 million is plenty or so they told me, if it was 10 million then that would be quite low so i'm happy with the 28 mil I don't feel any different yet so have a feeling it hasn't worked, i should try and be positive as i was really positive when i first had it done. Did you have any different symptoms before you found out you were pg?

It's gone quiet on here again, where is everyone? hopefully they have found out their pg and have forgotten to come and tell us

xx

jobobpip08 · 20/07/2010 16:57

lady I had got to the stage where I didn't bother to test anymore, just waited for AF to arrive! The only reason I tested that month was the slim chance it was pos and I wouldn't have to pack a suitcase full of towels and tampons for our trip away! I didn't feel any different at all.

REALLY quiet on here! You're right, lets hope thats good!

xxx

Ladybird10 · 21/07/2010 20:43

jobo you must have been shocked to see the BFP, I think i should start doing the same and just wait for af to arrive instead if thinking i have pg symptoms, although i hardly ever tested as af usually comes on time, i only ever test if i get to day 33 which is rare.

I'm sure they will come and tell us the news if they have any.

xx

highheelsandequations · 22/07/2010 10:29

Morning all, hope we're all well. The sun's almost out here!

lady I admire your strength at not testing till day 33. Every cycle I tell myself I will not test unless I get up to 40 days and then I start going mad and making up symptoms and spending a fortune in boots just to get many one or two BFNs until AF arrives! Currently trying to decde whether or not to test before holiday starts next Tues (will be CD32 then).

jobo hello and glad to hear the clomid worked for you.

jobobpip08 · 22/07/2010 11:35

lady I was a bit surprised! But as I have had a few m/c as late as 12 1/2 weeks I kind of got excited for an hour, got over it then held my breath for the next 8 weeks.

I found in the end it was depressing to get the BFN and then depressing again to get AF. Clomid made me a bit all over the place in terms of my cycle so I couldn't be sure if I got to eg 35 days that it was a good sign.

hi high I got my ovulation and pregnancy tests from ebay, they come in a foil pouch which is probably why they are so cheap, they both worked fine for me. Sure I go them for about £5 (maybe a bit more) for 50 - and you could choose say 30 ovulation and 20 pg or whatever you wanted.

HELLO...HELLO...hello......where are you all?

xxx

stac14 · 23/07/2010 16:19

hey ladies, just popping on to say hello. It's very quiet on here is all ok? I posted some pics of the baby if you fancy a look. Rileigh is just over 2wks old and a joy. Dont give up, if it can happen for me it can happen for you. Sending lots of baby dust to you all xxxxx

Ladybird10 · 25/07/2010 19:15

highheels i'll be testing on cd28 this month as that will be 15dpiui, but that will only be if af hasn't arrived by then. I had a few cramps the other night which were similar to what i get sometimes when af is on the way so i'm not very hopeful!
Hope you get a BFP, let us know what happens. A BFN is definately more depressing than AF thats why i try and wait but i do get very tempted to test early.

jobo hope your ok? Are you showing yet?

Lovely to hear from you stac, sounds like your enjoying it, hopefully our turn will come one day

xx

Ladybird10 · 25/07/2010 19:17

Forgot to say, Rileigh looks gorgeous

highheelsandequations · 25/07/2010 22:22

AF arrived today. leaving me feeling a bit down. I was expecting it but still felt like crying. Doesn't help that I have had the worst cramps in the world all day. DP actually asked if I wanted him to phone the doctor as I was in so much pain Trying to concentrate on the positives such as I've not had to get a BFN and saved money, the worst will hopefully be over when we go on holiday and at least I can have my champagne afteroon tea without guilt, plus this is the first time I've had a cycle less than 30 days. I'm assuming that is a positive sign that the clomid is making my body behave more normally? Used to have cycles of anything up to 65 days before. Very aware now thought that this next cycle is my last of clomid before I have to go back to the clinic for more tests and discuss next steps, feeling a bit desperate and under pressure and starting to wonder if there's anything else I could be doing to help. Am even considering trying to put on some weight as I read a BMI of 20-25 is optimal for conception. Have also been considering acupuncture and looking at all sorts of fertility related books on amazon.

Sorry, that was very memememe, whinge over.

lady when are you due to test? I've got my fingers crossed for you.

stac congratlations on your new arrival and jobo hope you're well and happy.

Hope everone's enjoyed their weekend and the quietness here is because people are off doing happy things!

jobobpip08 · 26/07/2010 21:16

Sorry high big hugs. Its not whinging at all, its a very real sense of miserableness that I can totally understand. After my last baby (who we lost and I am never sure if it was all the shock that put my hormones up the spout) I had hugely heavy and irregular periods (but not as irregular as you).

I had acupuncture and found it definitely made a different to my cycle - it gave me a 28 day cycle, a change from the previous 25-35 day cycle. Clomid made my cycle slightly more random again. Acupuncture seems to be very successful in helping implantation in IVF, so I'm assuming (altho the research hasn't been done on this) it could help when you are ttc normally. Its not a quick fix though, be prepared to commit and fork out for several months to get the best results.

The fertility books will tell you the usual stuff about giving up caffeine, eating healthier, etc etc. Knowing your fertile signs as well. My acupuncturist told me to give up wheat and dairy (altho I had to cut down alot, couldn't completely give up ) as it gives you sticky blood(?) which is not good, apparently! She also recommends homemade chicken soup which is good for building the blood. Keep your tummy warm. Exercise.

If your BMI is under 20, has anyone commented on this as yes, I've also read that it can affect your chances, although i don't know how much of a difference it makes. Have you had any hormone tests done - I know in the UK they sometimes put you on clomid before doing anything else. Did they scan you to see if you're ovulating, if not, did you feel any of the twinges to suggest you were?

lady fingers still crossed.

We've had a great day, DS was 6 today so we had a little party for us and my parents (he had his proper party last weekend) and my mum thought up a potato and spoon race! Amid much hysterical laughter as the dog (greyhound) joined in racing circles around us, DH moved faster than my parents ever thought possible to come a respectable second, I was left to run, carry my spud AND film it. Yes, we are slightly mad, but it is so nice to have a good laugh, I often feel that we don't do it enough.

Hope you all had a good one.

Thanks for that jobo. Going on holiday today so trying to forget about it all for a couple of weeks but think I might consider the acupuncture when we get back. Homemade chicken soup sounds good, will happily start eating that. I don't eat a lot of wheat or dairy, but did read recently that whilst ttc, especially if you're having problems with ovulation you should switch to full fat dairy not the skimmed stuff I have. I asked the doctor on my first visit about my BMI as it is usually around 19 and also about exercise as I do a lot. She said that I should only worry if it went down to 18 but would pass on my concerns to the fertility clinic. They didn't give me any advice but then again I didn't ask (think I was so stressed and nervous at the first appointment I couldn't think straight). Have had my hormones tested and scans done, which led to the diagnosis of PCOS, this was before we started ttc due to very strange periods and lots of pain. Gynaecologist reckoned I wasn't ovulating, but even on some of my very long cycles I have had mid-cycle pains, which I now think could have been ovulation pains.

Your day sounds great and I wholeheartedly agree that laughter should be prescribed to all.

Off to finish getting ready for holidays now, a couple of weeks of being pampered and eating and drinking far to much is very much needed I think

Take care all and much babydust!
