care I have acupuncture, I now suffer from extremely heavy periods (can go through a super plus tampax in under 2 hours, sometimes overnight) since I lost my baby 2 years ago. I started seeing my lady last march and she definiely made a difference to my periods which become somewhat lighter and regular as clockwork. In June I got pregnant, despite polyps and a too thick lining. Sadly I m/c at 8 weeks, but I do believe she made a difference. She also advised me on not eating wheat/dairy, eat chicken soup (good for the blood), regular exercise. I don't really find it painful and I do relax when I'm there. If its too early to test then yes I would wait too (I'm such a liar )

becky I do notice a low achy kind of pain across my womb/ovaries pre-AF, but not flutterings. Altho with clomid I find my symptoms are changing so that I'm not getting so achy now, which makes me think 'yay!' but of course is my body teasing me!

that will teach me not to read properly -Care the testing too early comment was for becky! Can't believe we're on page 2 already!

Shev40 · 05/02/2010 12:26

Hi there, Been reading all the previous threads and you all sound really nice. Thought I would share my story with you to. Have DD 11yrs, had previous problems concieving but was told it was ex hubby. Now divorced and getting married this year to fabulous guy and been together 3 years. Baby attempts failed so eventually got referred to Infertility Specialist and, to cut a long story short, am now on CD 3 and taken my first clomid tablet today. Am keeping my fingers crossed for everyone and babydust to you all * (smile)

Shev40 · 05/02/2010 13:58

Sorry, forgot to say, at first they thought I was pre-menopause due to blood results but after 1 mnth of crying uncontrollably they told me they were wrong. Just a matter of me not ovulating properly. Hence clomid. Got tubes checked and everything ok there but my periods are very erratic. In last year they've been anything from 18 days to 86! I had an injection to bring on AF @ CD42 which kicked in and clomid to be taken CD3 to 7. I have read so many success stories so hears hoping it works for us all. x

Ladybird10 · 05/02/2010 16:11

Hi All

Welcome Shev the ladies on here are really nice and give good advice.

Stac i wish the clomid would have given me a higher sex drive but it hasnt. Just the same as before, i'm always in the mood when i have had a few alcoholic drinks, but thats no good when your trying.

Fairy im definately not going back on the pill ever again, i sometimes wonder if i have PCOS or Endo but have been checked and that have found no problems. What are the symptoms of PCOS?

Jobo i think your right that 5 days is the maxium and thats probably only for very fertile ladies, but i just think about the people i know that didnt BD all the time and they managed to conceive. Im sure i will conceive one day, i try to stay positve, the cons did tell us that 2-3 times a week is enough...

I hate the feeling of jealousy when somebody tells me they are pregnant, does anyone else get that? unless they have been trying for a long time then i am happy for them...Im not a jealous person when it comes to anything else

Babydust to all

beckylou85 · 05/02/2010 16:12

Hi all, stac it would be great to be the first on the new thread but knowing my body, I will not be pregnant. I'm still getting the weird feelings but last night I got light cramping but it only lasted a few minutes.
Hi shev, everyone is really nice on here. Just like you, I had all the tests on tubes etc and was all ok but I don't ovulate at all without Clomid. My periods are regular and always have been since I came off the pill over 4 years ago.
jobo I'm definately not going to test till next week, well at least try not to test till next week
Good luck to all ttc xxx

beckylou85 · 05/02/2010 16:32

lady yes, I know exactly what you mean about being jealous when someone tells you they're pregnant. If they have been trying for long time I'm so happy for them but I still feel a little bit of jealousy.
Did anyone watch '8 boys and wanting a girl' tv programme last night? The women there were absolutely devasted that they didn't have a girl. I did feel sorry for one woman who went for her scan to see the sex of the baby to find out it was another boy, and she was gutted but a big part of me felt like shouting at the tv 'be thankful you've got kids because there is some people who can't have any'. Think the green monster was coming out of me at that point.
Another thing that bothers me is when people don't even want they're kids and just keep 'popping' them out. My DP ex wife has a one year old now but she didn't even want her 2 kids to my DP, so now they live with us and have done for just over 3 years now.4 months before she got pregnant with the 1year old, she aborted a 3month old baby, she was drinking all the time to 'get rid of it' (her words not mine) until she actually went to the docs.
We are having a court battle now though because she has decided that she wants the kids back and thikns she's worlds best mum, but all she does is go out n get pissed all the time.
Anyway... Good luck to all ttc xxx

Clure · 05/02/2010 17:11

hi

I did my first run in nearly 2 weeks today, was a bit scared that it would put a strain on my back again but touch wood I feel fine. Only did a short run even though I felt like I could have done more. Feel much better!

Carebear - I do a lot of training and definitly helps lift spirits as well as all the physical benefits. Just to let you know that I exercised right through my first pregnancy (except in week 11 and 12 when risk of mc is higher) I cycled 40 miles when I was 10 weeks pg, cycled up till my bump got in the way - about 6 months, did aerobics and yoga till nearly 9 months. I stopped running at 11 weeks as I was told it was high impact and not good for pelvic joints. So unless you have a medical problem, I shouldn't let the benefits of exercise durring ttc worry you

welcome shev - I too have VERY irregular periods, I have DD who is 5 and ttc #2 for 2 years (I;m very old at 42!) how are you finding the clomid - any side effects? We find it best to take it at night to minimise any possible side effects

fairy - so sorry I completely forgot about getting the tudor music for you, had a manic wednesday and a bombshell dropped on me so was not really with it, hope the assembly went well, sure it did as your class are such stars

becky - I still have those feelings when someone tells me they are pg, like you say its not that you begrudge them its just so unfair. Also agree it makes me cross when you get those people who dont give a monkeys about the children they have and pop out more at the drop of a hat

hi every one else hoping your all well, popsy and stac are you looking after yourselves?
Off out for a nice meal with the girlies tonight, got myself a nice new little tea dress to wear (obviously with coat, boots, tights etc its too bloody cold!!)

jobobpip08 · 05/02/2010 18:46

hello and welcome shev glad to hear you have a fab guy - you definitely need that when you go through what we do.

lady I never used to but I'm definitely when I see pregnant women. I try not to acknowledge thats how I've become!

becky didn't watch that prog but someone people don't realise how lucky they are. And at DP ex - sounds like an awful woman.

clure glad to hear you're back to health, enjoy your meal out with the girls. Can't beat a good night out with the girls!

stac poor you - flu again. Sending you lots of strong immunity vibes.

popsy ven how you doing? Everyone else?

I've decided I'm going to my GP next week to get a thyroid test done, I'm tired all the time with the occasional shattered thrown in, amongst quite a few other things which could point to that. I've always blamed it on grief/ttc stress/overweight but its getting worse and I do feel quite low a lot of the time as well and thats not good. If its fine then I'll have to find something else to blame it on! Going to see someone other than my usual GP as I don't feel I can trust his judgement now.

Shev40 · 05/02/2010 18:48

Hi again to all.

Clure - don't worry about the age, I just turned 40 in Jan there. Good advice about taking it at night, I never thought of that. I've only taken the one tablet today but I've had only a very slight headache (felt like just a wee stress one) but the weirdest thing was I had to take my contact lens out as my eyes felt very, very dry? I've not seen anyone mentioning anything like this before so maybe not the clomid - strange though....I'm glad that I've got people to help me through this. Thanks.

Debicemmy2 · 05/02/2010 18:50

Welcome Shev Hope you find this thread helpful......everyone is fab on here and I look forward to reading all the post even if I dont post myself. I come on at least 2 times a day.
Becky I too am not a jealous person and feel just the same...........a girl I know round the corner from me has 4 children and just found out she is preg again(her youngest is 1) and they only have a 2 bedroom house and never worked a day in their life,,,,,,,,,,that bugs the bum off me some what. For your hubbys ex I think she is in dream land.......the stupid moo. No court will let that happen surely!?
I dont know whats wrong with me lately.........A girl at work just back from having a baby(he 9 month) and she just found out she is 4 month preg again...........the 1st thing I thought is, greedy....more so because she cant stand her hubby.....why she let it happen again is behond me. Anyway who am I to make judgement.
Hope all you ladies are well and have a lovely weekend.
Sending lots of baby dust your wayxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

stac14 · 05/02/2010 20:06

Hi ladies,
How are you? Was at my gp, she says i have slight spd and the flu lol

I used to get so envious when people got bfp, especially if they were bad with kids they have. A girl i know had both her kids took off her then when she gave birth they took that one off her too. I felt like offering to adopt the wee soul. It disgusts me when lovely women like us on here struggle. I'll get off my soap box now.

Whats the plans for the weekend? Welcome to the thread shev

Fairygodmother1 · 05/02/2010 21:26

Hi all, yay Friday!!!

Ladybird The symptoms of PCOS are varied. I personally have periods that are all over the place in length, struggle to lose weight, panic attacks, hair that grows too fast & not exactly in the places I want (!), also get a lot of 'down' days. Thats to name but a few!
We all can admit on here about getting those jealous pangs. I don't have an issue with them once they've had the baby - it's pregnancy I'm jealous about!

Welcome Shev - we'll help where we can!

beck Know what you mean about odd feelings. I still had EWCM at about lunch time today & all day felt a pushing muscle type achy feeling around my right hip but in a bit (hmmmm not being certain on the descriptions am I???). A friend of mine said could be Ov but could be something sticking. Think we'll BD just to make sure!

clure We are performing Romeo & Juliet next Friday afternoon! The kids are excited & posters went up around school today! Hope the bombshell is something you can cope with!

Hi to everyone else.

Not much planned for the weekend - BT engineer coming out tomorrow!

beckylou85 · 05/02/2010 23:24

Hi all, fairy I hope its something sticking for us both
jobo DP ex is an awful person, she's awful to the kids and she hates me because I take care of the kids like a mum should so they have respect for me and they have none for her but I don't blame them with the way she's treated them in the past. She has even tried to stab herself and overdose infront of the kids.
Well if things couldn't get any worse my cars broke down AGAIN. I'm so pissed off! (sorry about the language) I'm just so angry and upset at the same time. I just feel like crying . It was only fixed 2 weeks ago.
Anyway, hows the rest of you lovely ladies today?
Good luck to all ttc

popsy1 · 06/02/2010 11:44

Hi Ladies

Thanks Becky words of reasurrance are geatly receivedA perfectly healthy baby sounds like amazing.
MS seems to be mainly at night. I wore sea sickness bands to work yesterday and took ginger biscuits to nibble. Stac can't wait for the scan, it will all seem very 'real' then.
Welcome shev everyone is so supportive.
Jo and Fairy DH is ok thanks. He said she was in so much pain that its abit of a blessing, iykwim.
Carebear i didnt really feel anything different before bfp. I ovulated late and had cm till day 22+ (Maybe a good sign Fairy )I had nausea and aches etc, but nothing i hadn't already felt.
Clure glad you are feeling better and could get out for a run. Hubby has me double wrapped in cotton wool, so yep taking care of myself. Although not eating too well and i've lost almost half a stone!!
Also had the jealousy feeling. I hated it so much, made me feel awful. Others don't seem to understand. Unfortunatley i think its all part of it I work in a school thats in a pretty poor area and some of our parents really dont deserve their kids. It drives me mad when they can't look after the ones they've got and then go and pop another out!!
Even with friends i've felt stabs of envy . Its nota nice feeling, is it?

Anyway lots of weekend baby dust.xxxxx

Fairygodmother1 · 06/02/2010 11:55

Pops I hear you all the parent front! same as the area we work in & yes many a time I've wanted to take one of my kids home, give them a decent hot meal & a good scrub in the bath!
I hope something is going on this month - either late ov or someone sticking in there! I'm guessing the ones that haven't stuck are too much like their dad - laid back. Where if they were like their mum they'd fight for survival! lol.
CD 24 today - so if not ov late then about 5 days before af arrives or not!
Just wondering when someone's gonna give me a break & give me a chance at being a mum.

hi all

I did a test a few days ago and got yet another bfn. Expected really.
Had nice evening catching up with my girlie friends, lots of gossip, good food and a glass of wine (i will allow myself the odd one!)

Popsy - hope the ms passes soon, sounds awful, I didn;t suffer from it myself but know others who said it was really unpleasant. I will second what fairy said, our school is in an "area of high social deprivation" and it makes me sick to my stomach how some parents mistreat their children.

fairy - hopefully something good will happen for you soon. Get those tests done and get on with the ivf.

becky - we have just got our car back after shelling out £192 on new coils (whatever those are!) I was driving to the chiropractors and this engine warning light kept flashing at me and car sounded like it was going to conk out, thankfully it got me there and home again-stress though! I sympathise!

stac - spd is rough, thankfully if its mild it not so bad, poor you with flu aswell, you look after yourself and take it easy

jobo - good idea about getting thyroid checked. have you any other symptoms?

hello the rest of you and hoping you are all having a good day. Took DD to her singing/music class and now she's busy playing with peppa pig. The joy of childhood!

Shev40 · 06/02/2010 13:13

Hi all, CD 4, only taken 2nd tablet today, got my scan on 15th then bloods 21st & 27th..Am excited but very anxious as well. Feeling a bit down today though. DD wants to bake so will be up to my eyeballs in flour and icing sugar no doubt! Some of you mentioned before about MS and the runs, I had both in early pg with DD. To the point I was vomiting in an empty crisp bag in the car and Sing at the same time! It was awful so I do feel for you. Babydust 2u all *

What days are you on now Clure?

Just had a couple of dizzy spells so about to have lunch cos it feels like my blood sugars have plummeted (oh the joys of PCOS!). Possibly all the things going round my head & trying to sort out at the mo aint helping!!!

keep you posted

Venetia2 · 06/02/2010 13:53

Hi all, sorry haven't been on for a while, do read to catch up when I can.

Fairy thanks for the new thread!

Welcome Shev, I hope you find us as helpful as I have!

Clure glad you are better, and pleased to hear about the exercising, I had similar worries to carebear, go the the gym 2-3times a week. Last month was paranoid and didn't but this month asked the fertility nurse who said it should be fine, if I already do it.

Stac sorry you have flu again, hope you are being looked after
popsy hope the ginger biscuits are working for the MS!
Jobo hope the beer festival isn't too baad, do you have to go too?

Deb I was so bloated before ov both months on Clomid so far, couldn't do up my jeans (which are normally loose).

Hi Ladybird and anyone else I have missed.

DH knocked me for six this morning. He knocked my boob and I said ouch. I always have boob pain post ov, he knows this. He said Oh you aren't pg then? I have no idea and did try to get him to explain where that thought had come from....maybe Clomid makes men as crazy as women??

The clomid has made me feel rough this month, the last week I have mild but annoying headaches every day, am so tired (because of stress I think), having low blood sugars and shakiness sometimes and generally feeling off colour-actually maybe I have a bug now I look at what I have written.

The headaches are making me paranoid, I have cluster headaches, which don't weirdly cause a headache but horrible stabbing eye pain, and I don't have them but I get worried headaches will cause them to come on. At least I am excused fro ever having to take the pill again!

Sorry I have rambled on I have so
many worries thoughts going around.

Fairygodmother1 · 06/02/2010 14:26

Ven know exactly what you mean. Currently got a mini-headache after the dizzy spells & feel exhausted like a huge panic attack has hit but it aint!

I def think there are varied types of side effects to clomid. I wish DH & I could go off to a desert island somewhere away from everything & everyone & we can get on with BDing away from stress & so on!

Hope your day gets better

Hi ladies

ven sorry you have had a rough ride this month, clomid and I weren't a good match. You could have sore boobs if pg too

clure the docs says they need to keep an eye on spd and probs should phone the physio, but typical me went to ds's footy match they scored I jumped and have pulled a muscle in my back, but hey ho they won so I am over the moon.

fairy totally understand about parents at your school we live in quite a highly deprived area and some of the kids make my heart melt, it is not that expensive to put kids in decent clothes or make them clean most of the ones that dont bother are the ones too busy drinking or trying to find thier next hit (soz for rambling)

shev the clomid gives a rollercoaster of emotions but its all worth it in the end, I always took mine at night to try and lessen the side effects.

becky sorry dps ex is a nightmare I am in the same boat but dp's son lives with his sister, she didnt deserve kids either

popsy I just had all day nausea, had to force myself to eat but lo seems fine as was kicking away earlier lol

Hey to anyone I have missed hope your all well xxxx

Fairygodmother1 · 06/02/2010 15:06

stac take it easy! We love your ramblings cos you sound the same as the rest of us!!!
