Sounds like you had a lovely day jobo, it's always good to laugh, makes me feel so much happier when i've had a good laugh Happy Birthday to your DS.

Sorry af got you highheels, my af came just before i went away the other month, it is crap but i tried to look on the positive side, at least you can have a good drink. But i'm sure you would much prefer to go on holiday and not drink if it meant you were pg. How long have you been trying?
Hope you have a great holiday and its nice and sunny

Well cd26 for me and was told i can test tomorrow as that will be 14dpiui but will be leaving it till Thursday although i think af will be here by tomorrow, i'm holding my breath that it won't come but just don't feel any different. well apart from sore nipples that comes and goes, even dp said last night that i could be pg because i never shy away with pain usually when he touches my nips lol. I will keep my fingers crossed but i'm also being realistic.

Hope everyones well? We're missing the ladies that haven't been on for a while.

Well i did a test this morning even though i thought af was on the way and it was a BFP can't beleive i can finally say i'm pg. I also did a digital test this afternoon which shows 2-3 wks pg.
There really is hope, i know it's early days but i'm happy ive seen a BFP. Really didn't think iui would work first time. I keep thinking maybe it's a dream

Lots of baby dust to all x x x

Wonderful, Amazing, fantastic news lady. So pleased for you. Has it sunk in yet? Have u called CRM yet? Xx

Ladybird10 · 29/07/2010 20:52

Thanks popsy where have you been?

It definately hasn't sunk in yet, don't feel very pg but i suppose i wouldn't as i am only 4 weeks.
I've had cramps all day, suppose thats quite normal but just a bit worrying as it feels a bit like af cramps.
I've called the CRM and they have booked me in for an early scan on 19th Aug.

Hope your ok?

xx

stac14 · 30/07/2010 21:05

highheelsandequations · 30/07/2010 22:08

Just having a quick peep whilst on hols and saw the news so had to post to say congratulations lady, so pleased for you. Hope you're doing well.

Am pleased to inform you that I have made the most of AF by enjoying plenty of champage for the past few days! Have been trying for about 13 months now, sometimes it seems like forever but I know others have been trying for much longer so keeping the fingers firmly crossed.

Happy weekend wishes and babydust to all.
xx

stac14 · 31/07/2010 12:31

Ladybird10 · 01/08/2010 18:59

Thanks highheels and Stac, i'm doing ok, i think now i've seen the BFP i'm going to be paranoid about what could go wrong, i'm so grateful that i am finally pg though after 2 years, still doesn't feel real, hope it does soon
Hope you and rileigh are doing ok?

popsy1 · 01/08/2010 20:53

Hi ladies. Very sorry for the silence but I've had a lot going on lately. I have been reading your posts from the sidelines.
Well, I am currently a little over 8 weeks pregnant I still can't believe it. I wanted to wait til after my early scan before I told u all. I'm sure you understand given my previous history. I have my 12wk scan in a few weeks and we have been taken on by a consultant who specialises in fetal medicine at our city hospital.
It's been a very scary few weeks and we know we have a long way to go yet. We are both trying not to think too far forward although we are both thrilled. We both cried at our scans happy tears this time though.

Lots of love xxx

Ladybird10 · 02/08/2010 11:48

Aww Popsy that is amazing news, i had a feeling you were pg, i thought about you last night and thought maybe you are pg but just keeping it quiet fot a bit. I am so happy for you So your a month ahead of me, how exciting! I don't think i will relax until i've had my early scan. Still feel like my period is about to come
So pleased for you

Hi all,

Just logged on to see Pops has some great news. Congrats & fingers crossed.

It all got a bit manic at the end of July & my emergency visit to A & E. We had HMI visit too!!!!

Well the weight loss has halted & my scan to check for any problems with miscarriage showed no problems. Waiting for the results to get back to GP so that I can go & discuss what they can do to manage the PCOS as I'm have 2 weeks without bleeding now & 2-3 weeks bleeding. Obviously my body isn't coping with losing weight!!!

Hope everyone is ok!

Thanks ladies. Its still hard to fully take everything in and as i said we are very nervous and taking each step as it comes, well trying to anyway The 12 week scan will be a biggy for us to get through. I was contemplating not posting til after that, just hope i havent jinxed things!
lady it was the horrible woman at CRM who scanned me. I wasnt happy when i saw her working, but she was soooo lovely and talked me through everything and was really good when we both got all emotional. The other nurses on duty all had a look at our little bean Its a big step and it makes things feel real. I also felt AF was just around the corner for a while after, its just your body adjusting
Fairy really lovely to hear from youBoooooo dreaded visitors at the end of summer term, thats just cruel. We are due a visit, so i am sure it wont be long before they rear there heads Hope things are starting to settle down with you now. Anything nice planned for hols?

stac14 · 03/08/2010 00:09

congrats popsy so pleased for you. How are you feeling?

Have you been offered an early scan lady? I got one with rileigh but it was because they thought she could be ectopic. We're both good thanks, she is suffering from reflux so trying to get that under control.

fairy have they said what they will use to help manage the pcos? What are they doing about your ivf?

Hope your enjoying your hols highheels

jobob how are you feeling? Is the heat knackering you? Defo the worse part about being preggers in the summer x

Fairygodmother1 · 03/08/2010 17:17

Stac I'm still waiting to hear from GP to say that they have my results. The fertility wont go any further till my BMI is 29 so battling the bulge constantly. They haven't said about managing PCOS so I'm gonna suggest it!!!

Hi ladies, I'm a bit of a newbie. Can I be rude and gatecrash your thread with a fairly urgent question? I asked on another thread but have had no response and I'm due to start month 4 of Clomid in 2 days time and need to make a decision. I'd really appreciate your experiences and thoughts.

I'm taking 50mg and my GP said it's my choice whether I want to increase the dose next month to 75mg. I've only had one blood test since starting Clomid which showed my progesterone had gone from 2 to 16 (may have been late and missed 'progesterone peak'). GP says I must therefore be ovulating.

I'm worried about taking 50mg for the full 6 months with no monitoring and not make the most of our chances, so would really appreciate any advice or experience. Thanks.

Fairygodmother1 · 03/08/2010 18:16

Hi cloudy

I had 50g for the whole 6 months with only 1 blood test that said I was ovulating so therefore my fertility cons kept me on that. He refused to up my dosage.

I can't tell you what to do by I regret not getting a second opinion or getting more obs to see what was going on.

I'm now waiting on IVF but my BMI is too high (31 instead of 29 & struggling to lower it & since stopping the clomid had an early miscarriage & very long periods which after 3 months I'm still battling with the medical profession to investigate that!!!!)

I'd make sure you are getting all monitoring, not left to it like me, and get all advice on all areas.

Sorry if this isn't helpful!

Popsy thats good that the lady at the clinic was nice this time, i found she was alot better with me when i was having the iui, i think she just has off days where she is really moody and doesn't talk much. You must have been so happy to see the bean on the screen, i hope i have the same Bless you and your dh, i'm praying that everything works out this time as your such a brave person and deserve your baby.

Stac i've been offered an early scan on 19th Aug when i will be 7wks. Hope Rileigh is ok and you get the reflux under control.

Cloud welcome, if it was me, i was up the dose as your gp has said you could, might give you more of a chance. Good luck!

xx

popsy1 · 03/08/2010 18:54

You say such lovely things lady, i really appreciate such kind words . Yes it was lovely to see our little bean on screen. We had a scan the week before as well with our consultant and i kept my eyes such with both scans until she said all was ok. Next scan isnt til 1st sept as she is on holiday, seems an age away. We can hold each others hand the all the way through. Who knows we may even sit in the same antenatal appointmnets at the same time and not even know it!!!

Stac i'm feeling fine thanks. A little morning sickness and very tired but taking advantage of being on holiday and hubby has me triple wrapped in cotton woolThe main symptom is my boobs, they feel like pumped up water melons!!!!Hope Rileigh is feeling better.

fairy its so lovely to have you back with us. We've missed ya chick

Welcome cloud my dose went up in 50's and they put me up when my progesterone hadn't reached 30.Have you had any scans to check the growth of your foillicles? If you increase it will they monitor you?

Love to all, nice to see it getting busier on here

xxx

stac14 · 04/08/2010 06:12

fairy when they told me my next step was ivf i asked for metformin, which helped me loose weight, but to be honest i'm not sure if bfp was due to weight loss, metformin or the dye through my tubes so i think your right to ask for investigation

Thats lovely you'll see your lo soon lady you and popsy may meet at the hospital.

popsy when's your 12wk scan? Glad your relaxing and being pampered hun.

cloud i got bloods done every month at my gp. Its no good if they dont as clomid can over stimulate your ovaries. Also you would want to know your ovulating for definate, the progesterone level should be about 30. Also i would go for increased dose mine also went from 50 to 100. Good luck hun x

cloudwine · 04/08/2010 09:28

Sorry I had to post and run, but thanks you sooooo much for your replies. It really helps to hear from others who are going through, or have been through the same.

Fairy- I'm so sorry that you regret not getting monitored more whilst taking Clomid, and for your miscarriage. Good luck with the IVF and for reducing your BMI (if it helps, I've started taking a tablespoon of soaked linseeds each day and have notice a bit of weightloss- might be worth a try in addition to anything else you're already doing?) I'm only under my GP still but think I need to find a clinic so that I can be monitored properly, as you suggest. I'll have to asked to be referred privately as I already have one child. GP seems to think that I stopped ovulating after I miscarried last year

Ladybird and Popsy- Congratulations to you both, it's great to hear success stories! Was it just Clomid that worked for you? I've only been offered 75mg but not really sure of the reason- I thought next dose was 100mg. Without monitoring me, my GP surely can't know if the Clomid's doing it's job???

Think I need to make another appointment, firstly to ask for a higher dose (you ladies have been great) and to ask for more monitoring (or at least a blood test) until I get referred.

cloudwine · 04/08/2010 09:40

stac- did you have to ask for bloods each month? When I asked my GP, she said I only needed one the first month of taking Clomid to see if my progesterone had increased. I had it on day 23 of a 31ish day cycle. It may not have been my 'best' reading (not sure how much it can drop each day after ov of what my reading would have been if it were the right day to test? )

I have asked for more blood tests since, but her answer has been the same. Do I need to be more pushy- I'm wondering whether different PCT's have different advice maybe? really don't want to p*ss my GP off at this stage!

Fairygodmother1 · 04/08/2010 18:35

Cloudy my PCT doesn't offer any more monitoring. My friend Clure had the same treatment as we live local to each other. I regret going straight for IVF rather than trying IUI! I thought it was gonna be the quicker option!

Thanks for the lin seed advice will investigate & try!
Stac cons refused to give me metformin so I'm gonna try the GP (it's like going to a different parent when the other one won't give you what you want!!!)

Missed you too Pops we've all been through so much together. (Got a Facebook account????)

Hi

I'm making an appointment with my GP for Friday to get the prescription for the higher dose of Clomid- thanks for helping me decide girls

Fairy- Interesting to hear your PCT is the same (NW by any chance?) I'm hoping that when I increase the dose to 75mg they'll have to monitor me even for the first month, to make sure my body doesn't go into overdrive!!!! Hope you don't mind me asking but why did you choose not to do IUI? I only ask as we'll be facing the same decision if Clomid doesn't come up trumps. Fingers crossed but definately not legs

Fairygodmother1 · 04/08/2010 20:44

SE! NW England or over the boarder?

Cons said that we'd get a baby quicker by doing IVF as we don't have any children. He forgot to tell me my BMI was too high!!!
