Hi all, old and new, this is the thread where all moaning, pieces of tmi, discussions and virtual cups of tea and biscuits come together to keep us sane .. or at the least insane together!

OP posts:
thefatladyscreams · 22/01/2010 11:15

Temp was still high this morning so thought I'd do another internet cheapie but checked my CM first - it was slightly brown (sorry TMI) just like the start of a period.

So game over I thought but did a cheapie test for luck. Got a BFP.

So feeling pretty bemused. Great it's a BFP but looks like it could be a chemical miscarriage and over before it began. Apologies to Cheepz for the copycat!

I'm on day 31 (ovulated day 13) so too late for implantation bleed.

Yours bemused of bemused land. Please don't congratulate me as I really don't feel this is going to go anywhere.

SarahMumtoAlex · 22/01/2010 11:50

tfls its so hard isn't it, we can't even feel the celebration of a bfp for fear. But I think you have reasons to be hopeful. implantation bleed is often used for spotting at this time even though its after implantation. I think it could be that the bleed from implantation takes awhile to come out (hence it being brown rather than red) Also I think some people get a little bit of decidual bleeding at the time AF is due. In any case, its a bfp and I will whisper congratualtions, while hoping to shout it later.

thefatladyscreams · 22/01/2010 11:55

Thanks SarahMumtoAlex.

I'm trying to keep my expectations low and then hope to be proved wrong!

Just got DH to check that it has two lines (been pulling it out of my pocket every 5 mins to check I'm not hallucinating). Maybe time to find that CB digital I have lurking somewhere!

thefatladyscreams · 22/01/2010 11:57

PS forgot to add bear - I'd go to your GP. It could be the antibiotics or your hormones still settling down - or it could be completely unrelated. But doesn't sound like a nice way to lose weight!

randomimposter · 22/01/2010 12:03

tfls TOTALLY get why you are being cautious BUT a BFP is great news, and we all know of lots of people who have had brown/pnk/even red spotting or bleeding and it's all been fine. Am sure your head is all over the place, and you won't want to be getting ahead of yourself etc etc, but YAY!

bear ditto what Sarah said - you should get that checked out. Could be totally unrelated, but regardless you need it to stop to start feeling human again... didn't have anything like it after my ERPC.

hi everyone else - welcome lucy

6 weeks today and have got my appointment with the midwife Tuesday week; have 1 CBD upstairs - will do it next weekend, as should then register 3 weeks plus...IYSWIM.

Goodluckbear · 22/01/2010 12:12

Thanks guys - just spoke to my GP on the phone - bit of an odd guy, which caused me to start gibbering on about rubbish. He just said to go see them in another week if it hasn't stopped by then, and that it's probably the antibiotics. So I feel reassured that I can go another week of toilet trips and not die or anything (I'm a "worse case scenario" kind of person) - fingers crossed it all clears up on it's own.

TFLS - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you too, totally understand why you're keeping your expectations low, am sending positive vibes your way for it to all be good - big hugs.

xxxx

do the digi....do the digi.....

Meita · 22/01/2010 13:56

oh TFLS!

Well it's good news either way. I have been thinking about you... You being overdue and getting BFNs was getting me worried that your cycles might be starting to deteriorate towards menopause. Just the thought made me sad and I was mentally commiserating with you.

But it turns out my worries for you were totally unnecessary and based on wrong assumptions! So relieved!

Now I'm keeping everything crossed for this to be a sticky one. Honestly, a bit of brown discharge is NOT an indication of a CP. Obviously, noone can guarantee that this will work out - but you have every right to hope for it!

I can't believe we've had 5 BFPs within less than a month! Roll on September babies!

Meita · 22/01/2010 13:58

(and that five is not even counting cheepz' sad story)

tetleytea · 22/01/2010 14:16

LeeWT brilliant news! congratulations to you!!! so pleased for you

tetleytea · 22/01/2010 14:18

TFLS get down to the chemists and get yourself a digi test now!!

Or at least tomorrow? !!

tt xx

LeeWT · 22/01/2010 14:19

tfls I'm crossing everything for you. Have u had any more bleeding? If not then as the others said it might not be end game.. I won't say congrats til u want to hear it xxx

in other news I'm on the train to go see my nanna and I'm feeling sick as a dog. Thought it was too early to feel sick wondering if it's psychosomatic .. Fairly constant dull cramps also. I had these with both my mcs and I forget whether they're supposed to be normal. Everytime I go to the loo I think i'm going to bleeding. Figured out I could get a scan anytime from 8th feb which is really not that far away..

Anyone else coming up to testing? X

OP posts:
VivClicquot · 22/01/2010 14:36

Technically, I should be exactly one week away from testing but given I don't think I ov'd until day 18, I think it will be a while longer.

Annoying yes, but I'm also secretly pleased as it's my best friend's birthday on 30th Jan and if I were to test and get a BFP that morning, there's no way I could get away with not drinking at her party without raising suspicion. As it stands, that day will be too early to test so I can have a small glass of wine or two (although just one or two, just in case) and still keep my fingers crossed for later that week.

Not that I've thought about it much, obv...

louisesh · 22/01/2010 14:36

Grh....Lost my messeage!!!

Welcome GOODLUCKBEAR sorry about your loss i too have had an ERPC and didn t have any diarrohea....As a prescriber i think it could well be a side effect of the antibiotics... Its a very common side effect, unfortunatly.

Fabulous news LEE yeh!!!!! Xmas Smile

Fingers crossed for you TFLS hope its not a CP i had 1 in Dec and was a major disruption for nothing.

Only been absent for 2 days and LOADS to catch up on.

Welcome LUCY

Hi to everyone else hope all are well.Thank god its friday yeh....End of another LONG week been based at a different clinic not soo nice......Can t wait for a lie in tomorrow....Off To tidy my house up its disgusting!!!!

Goodluckbear · 22/01/2010 15:05

Thanks Louisesh - I'm sure it'll clear up, I was just in a worrying frame of mind. I've eaten a lot of double deckers now, I figure they may help?

Alright guys - everyone have a great weekend, will look forward to maybe hearing about some more BFPs next week...you guys at the top of the list...

I'm off to a hotel & spa tomorrow for the weekend - get me - this is to cheer up my mate who's having a hard time. I'm such a martyr, I don't think many would subject themselves to a spa break, but I guess I have to.

thefatladyscreams · 22/01/2010 15:51

Hi guys - just to let you know I've done two more cheapies - both double lines but slightly fainter (were done later in the day I guess?).

Have agreed with DH that we will crack open the digital test tomorrow morning (first urine and all that).

Thanks for all the whispers and messages - they are great!

Now a spa weekend, that sounds nice. Mind you a Double Decker sounds pretty good as well.

louisesh · 22/01/2010 17:01

OH SHIT!!!! Here we go again, tidying the house decided as i ve got LOADS of tests in, [i accquire them from work!!!] to do one on cd 24 and its a BFP!!!!

Cracked open the clear blue digital and its a BFP 1-2 weeks!!!!

Had a "feeling" you know!!!!!!

Only telling you lot, obviuosly DH and my manager[in case i need to leave work quickly]

Not thinking at the moment as convinced as my blood tests showed a chromosonal problem that i ll just MC or have a CP again....Can t belive its only 7 weeks since last CP......mmmmmmm we ll see.

Good luck with u re clear blue TFLS X

Sounds lovely GOODLUCKBEAR we went to a fabulous hotel last year with a wonderful spa ans beauty treatments....Was bliss.

tetleytea · 22/01/2010 17:07

Wow that's brilliant louise!! Congratulations! Really hope this is the beginning of a long and healthy pregnancy. Loads of sticky best wishes.

tetleytea · 22/01/2010 17:09

TFLS I'm SO excited for you!

HOW are you going to sleep tonight!!?? I'm not even going to sleep tonight now!!

Meita · 22/01/2010 17:33

OMG Louise!!!

OMG OMG OMG!

I hardly know what to say - your emotions must be all over the place. What a bittersweet result. How cruel of life to put us in situations where the first thought on having a BFP is "it's all going to go wrong".

Oh Louise. I so hope for you that against your expectations, this will be a healthy, viable pregnancy for you.
I do think there IS hope. Obviously I know nothing about it, but the chromosomal problem might very well just decrease your chances, rather than making it impossible. So it might just be alright.

I have everything crossed for you. Please prove the doctors wrong!

SarahMumtoAlex · 22/01/2010 17:33

My god!! another BFP! well done louise all the best for a sticky one
