Hi all, old and new, this is the thread where all moaning, pieces of tmi, discussions and virtual cups of tea and biscuits come together to keep us sane .. or at the least insane together!

OP posts:
Meita · 08/02/2010 15:46

Congratulations, effilump! Wishing you a calm and eventless pregnancy.

littlemiss72 · 08/02/2010 17:33

Lovely news! Congrats to you effilump

Dirtgirl · 08/02/2010 17:44

Lovely Effilump .

Noshouting, sorry for yourloss. Hope you're feeling ok.

I do love this thread, there's always someone having good news which gives you hope when you've had bad news yourself.

I've bought one of those ovulation microscope thingies. Anyone else used one? I can't get any results from it, can't seem to see anything. I can't seem to track my ovulation except by dubious ewcm monitoring. The pee on sticks don't show up any ovulation, and the thermometer doesn't either. I must be ovulating at some point because I've achieved 2 pregnancies, but it is a bit hit and miss in regards to ttc.

tigerbear · 08/02/2010 19:11

Congrats Effilump!!! How exciting!!

Hello to all the newbies - big hugs to you all. Feel free to rant, cry, shout - whatever you need to do to get you through. We've all been there, and we're all here to listen and hand hold.

To everyone at the misery fest on Friday - any biscuits left??

Curlylox · 08/02/2010 19:20

Please would you add me to the list TTC #3 UCL 28 CD1....also had a complete miscarriage confirmed today at hospital.

louisesh · 08/02/2010 19:56

Hi ot all "NEWBIES" sorry for your experiences..

Yeh congrats EFFILUMP.....

I m fine , absolutely knackered.Had a lovely weekend in Chester with my DH,sister and her BF.Was a nice break .

Can t stop eating a bit pi**ed off as put 2lbs on since last week due to eating crap upon crap!!!! If i MC again i ll have to work extra hard to loose all this.Back to swimming today will stick to it daily and try and curtail my appetite!!!!

Hope everyone else is well , all the new BFPS

louisesh · 08/02/2010 20:03

Oh CHEEPZ forgot to answer , i am a medical professional, and no touching your cx wouldn t /wont cause a MC. We examine women for sti s who are pg and that includes taking an endocervical swab [from the neck of the womb].

Don t worry

AlbaDeTamble · 08/02/2010 20:14

congrats effilump, great to hear good news...
but so sorry to curlylox and noshouting - there is really great support here and so helpful to get an idea of what to expect over the next few days, or at least I'm certainly finding that. Also looking at the graduates list and hoping a bit of the good luck from this thread for next time will rub off...

tigerbear, mostly just crunchy nut cornflakes left over, but I just opened a box of lindor chocs I found left over from xmas this evening, if they sound tempting?? They're certainly helping me feel better...

The 2011 thing didn't really get me, I guess we had just managed to time #2 at the end of the school year so only 2 yrs behind DS, but that's all gone now, so 2010/2011 doesn't make so much of a difference (sincerely hope we don't get as far as 4 school years behind, will probably be giving up if we do). The only upside if we are delayed a few more months is the thought of the brand new hospital by then rather than the falling down old as the hills one where we had DS, hoping I can tempt fate with that and end up as one of the final deliveries in the tumbledown place!

alba what area are you in?

Welcome curly and shouting sorry you are joining us but we do have nice chocs and plenty wine/sparkling apple juice, delete as appropriate.

congratulations effilump here's to a very boring and uneventful 8 months for you.

We are still SWI for the rest of this week, dh late home this evening but I have fresh naval oranges for him and we are going to a lovely posh restaurant tomorrow night to treat ourselves so looking forward to that. Might even get an extra session in tomorrow then.

AlbaDeTamble · 08/02/2010 20:20

Alba remembers her manners, a little late, and passes the chocs round to all....

AlbaDeTamble · 08/02/2010 20:25

Liaghen -- near you I think.

Hope your DH not too late home this evening, great that you have a treat to look forward to tomorrow too

liahgen66 · 08/02/2010 20:56

Ah is it Pembury you are waiting for?

Personally I am hoping to fall very soon so that i can still have baby at Maidstone, (I normally suffer with Obstetric Cholestasis and therefore wouldn't be able to stay in new MLU but woud have to go to funky new dlivery at Pem.

Thing is Pem is 40 mins from me so would probably choose William Harvey anyway.

Thanks for choc. Yummy, I have to pick him up at 9.45 from station. I have pulled a muscle in my thigh or something as my leg is really painful. Dh ever the romantic says.

Oh, what about tonight?

me Don't worry, I'll be fine.

boodleboot · 08/02/2010 21:35

congrats effilump

come on cheepzy.....

Cheepz · 08/02/2010 22:15

congrats effilump

thanks boo - have been spying on you and the reat of the gals, hope your cat shows up must be hard. xx

Effilump · 09/02/2010 09:18

Thanks for all your congrats! I cant help but think that as its happened sooner than expected, its bound to go wrong. Stupid I know, My very 1st preg was a mmc, discovered at the 12wk scan, so i've never fully relaxed till after then with any of my pregnancys. Its such a shame that we cant just enjoy it isnt it. Fingers crossed any way, and now im saving for a private early scan, they wont do them here, unless your having problems, bloody stupid.
Wishing everyone a good morning and a pleasant day.

Goodluckbear · 09/02/2010 11:42

Congrats Effilump!! Hope you can relax and enjoy it...easier said than done and all that...

And welcome newbies - glad you found us.

I have a question - this is playing on my mind. I had the ERPC over four weeks ago now, will be five on Friday. No AF yet (and BFN - I checked that yesterday!). But I've been having low level PMT symptoms for the last week - slight cramps, which I usually get for a day before I come on. It's driving me mad - I just want that AF now, so things can be normal and we can get back to TTC!! Has anyone else had this? Worried I may end up waiting ages for it, and I'm already tearing my hair out before it's even been five weeks - god, it's going to be a long wait...

I'm going to eat a big fat cake for my lunch. Will save some for you guys.

xxxxx

Hopefully · 09/02/2010 13:27

Congratulations Effilump! Hope you have a very dull, boring, straightforward pregnancy .

Hi everyone

So much to catch up on that I've abandoned my crib sheet cheepz! So apologies in advance for the round robin.

Huge congrats to Effilump. That's fantastic news. I know it's scary but there are plenty of us available for nervous hand holding. So pleased for you!

Welcome to everyone new - this thread is great. And healing vibes to those of you who are still in the early days.

TFLS hands Goodluckbear another slice of cake. I'm afraid the answer is probably wait and see [TFLS ducks and avoids Goodluck throwing the cake at her for stating the bleeding obvious]

Barrenbrook - I've been seeing an acupuncture fertility specialist for the last 6 months and really rate it. Any questions please ask.

They were the only two questions my poor old brain remembered!

CakeandFineWine · 09/02/2010 14:30

Hi all
Just popping in WOW look at all the grads!! Well done you guys!
Curlylox so sorry to loose you off the thread these lovely ladies will look after you!!
Well 10weeks today got 20days until my scan here's keeping everything crossed!! xx

barrenbrook · 09/02/2010 14:46

effilump yey!!!!! congratulations.

TFLS I have lots of questions, will pop back in later. I have booked an appointment for Saturday with a fertility acupuncturist and having my bloods taken on 25th after seeing Dr yesterday. Hopefully all will be moving in the right direction again soon.

Running in and back out as am supposed to be working, love to all. Hello to the newbies

just1moreplease · 09/02/2010 14:58

hello all, hope you are all ok.

conrats on the bfp effilump

so, had more of dp's sperm test results he has a low count, low motility and low morphology.

obv need to have tests done but it doesnt look good.

so frustrating.

AlbaDeTamble · 09/02/2010 15:06

hit the wall today... I'm sure from here it can only get better.

Thought I'd share this quickly:
Access diagnostics coupon code 'reward' gives 5% discount (till end March), said it was good to share and for multiple use -- they do cheap OPK sticks, pg tests, vitamins, fertility tests etc etc etc...

Tried a glass of wine last night, sad to say, whoever said it still tastes of vinegar - me too... harrumph. Will just have to be more chocolate

just1moreplease · 09/02/2010 15:09

hope you feel better soon alba

thanks for the code

oh, and if your wine tastes like vinegar, pass it this way. any alcohol very much appreciated today.

AlbaDeTamble · 09/02/2010 15:14

just1more I've read that a single test not conclusive, so there is definitely hope. How low was low? and had he been sure to abstain for a few days before the test (it makes a difference) and did you get the test to the lab v quickly (also makes a difference)?
I read of someone whose test came back low but only because the lab left the sample lying around for far too long before testing

Pollyanna · 09/02/2010 15:15

Hope you feel better soon Alba - I am having a bad day too, I also have alot of up days - hormones playing havoc I think!

Anyway, have now become obsessed with getting pg again, have stopped bleeding

Can I ask, how soon am I likely to ovulate after a natural mc? Does anyone know? I suppose that it's completely random.

I am also going to ask the dr about progesterone checks - I have done some research on here and think this may be a problem for me (shorter cycles, spotting before periods etc).
