Hi all, old and new, this is the thread where all moaning, pieces of tmi, discussions and virtual cups of tea and biscuits come together to keep us sane .. or at the least insane together!

Hi everybody, busy today!

Congrats effilump - joining in wishing you a really dull 8 months! Ditto all the other bfps out there.

Alba, white wine doesn't seem so bad, and fizzy in particular is a good cheer up - at least for me (hic). Do hope you feel better soon. x

Good luck justone!

Commiserations to everyone caught by af or the bfn fairy. Next time!

Hello everyone else (waves and Chocolate Hobnobs)

Quick question after Pollyanna- warning, tmi, warning!

13 days from erpc - might be ovulating but just dunno. Pains in me tummy, just one side, some ewcm (i think - having only just discovered that this is a sign of ov i'm not well up on what gets produced. but this seems very early after erpc - cycles between b/f dd and pg were around 6 weeks. But it was a mmc - bean stopped developing 3 weeks or so before erpc - does this make a difference?

Unbuffy · 09/02/2010 17:25

(Hope that all makes sense. Between visitors, toddler tea, dh, the telephone and everything else it's taken about 40 minutes to write and I can see at a glance that the punctuation sucks...)

Meita · 09/02/2010 18:06

just1more I believe new sperm is produced about every three months, and so ideally they should repeat the test three months later. I don't mean to give you false hope, but it does seem very strange to me that the sperm should be so bad when you've managed to conceive four times.
It sounds a bit like a temporary low, which does happen, which is why the tests should be repeated.
Reasons for such a temporary low could be anything from car seat heating to mobile phone in trouser pocket to a lack in zinc in the diet. Or too much or too little sex recently.

Re WTF cycle... I suppose it's called this for a reason. goodluckbear I ovulated around CD30. I was doing HPTs and getting BFNs, when actually I should have been doing OPKs... AF arrived punctually 14 days later. I know it can be very frustrating but there really is nothing you can do except wait. Sorry.
Same counts for everyone else, I'm afraid... you might ovulate early or late or not at all or bang on time. If you want to make certain you don't miss the window, in the WTF cycle you just have to SWI every 2nd or 3rd day. I know this doesn't really help much, at least you can look forward to things being more normal in the next cycle.

Sorry about gatecrashing a bit... I'm still keeping up with reading this thread and just1more's news prompted me to write.

liahgen66 · 09/02/2010 19:41

ok so what is going on ladies

ERPC 12 days ago. Bleeding stopped after 3 days, but since weekend, every time we have sex, I bleed the following day, enough for a pad but not like a period, ie only for a day.

We are having sex every other day for ttc and wondered if anyone else had this or similar.

Thanks

just1moreplease · 09/02/2010 19:55

meita we have the repeat tests booked for next week. hopefully they will show some improvement. dp has been on his wellman vit;s since just before xmas.

liahgen no idea what is going on with you sorry. no advice but hope things settle down for you asap.

tigger15 · 09/02/2010 20:29

effilump congratulations! I hope it works out this time.

just1more tests can be misinterpreted. I have ones for retinopathy each year and one year I got diagnosed with it and went into a panic because they wouldn't tell me how bad etc and it can mean blindness. When I finally saw the consultant a year later we had the following conversation:

Him: Are you shortsighted?
Me: Yes(I'm wearing glasses it's a bit of a give away).
Him: What prescription?
Me: -8 etc
Him: And do you have astigmatism?
Me: Yes
Him: They've just misread it.

There you go one whole year on and off concern for a misread test!!!!!

Hopefully yours will be something similar.

just1moreplease · 09/02/2010 20:39

thanks tigger really hope so! just ordered some more vits for dp. hopefully they will make some difference.

Cheepz · 09/02/2010 21:43

tigger sounds like my optician - first i have an astigmatism then i don't now i do again ... wierdos - its like they can't see straight

tetley bummer babe, if i was counting from the beginning this would be cycle 7 so I think the post mc fertility thing is rubbish - took me 6 cycles then it happened again - first time i was thinking wahey i will be super fertile and it will happen right away, now I am thinking it could take a few cycles although with the CBFM we will be better at hitting the right dates. Am anticipating 30 - 32 day cycle since is WTF, ovulated CD16-18 so we will see, but I am not holding out much hopw for the whole fertility boost thing. humbug

just1 crap for you hon, its hard enough when theres no additional complications and things to worry about let alone getting confusing tests. I have blood tests due next week but we are going to be away so I am thinking that if by some miracle I do get pregnant I will take baby asprin in case I have clotting problems. Thats what you are suposed to take right? meita I know you did, next time you drop in can you advise did you take when ttc or just once got bfp?

liah I know it sounds grim but probably just residual bleeding following the erpc, everything might be abit delivate - also you might have a vascular cervix tmi warning I have one and it means I always bleed at smears, sometimes bleed after sex and DS birth was like a war zone, DH cried not because of baby but because he thought I was going to die because someone who lost that much blood surely couldn't live!!! so you might just be a bleeder!!

unbuffy re when ovulating the only way to be really sure is to use sticks or a monitor, I was using CM and pains and so on to try and predict ovulation and once I got the CBFM discovered that my major ewcm was typically 2 days before I ovulated and by the time i was ovulating the ewcm was way less, so we had been swi a little early, 3 cycles on the monitor and I got pregnant, had mc of course but the tiing was right go with your gut but as meita says only real way is regular shagging. If that all gets abit wearing get a monitor!!

alba and pollyanna it gets better in time, but the early desparate to be pregnant agin bit is pretty hard to weather. thoughts.

cake gate crash anytime - good to see you and know alls well

tfls no list - slacking lady, I rely on your comprehensive updates, have had to do lots of scrolling on this one!!

hopefully hope you are feeling ok

mrsG wherfore art thou ...

samb you have been awol for most of the 2ww, actually this cycle, let us know where you are and what news

for me, no symptoms either way - am reckoning am at least 3 days from testing and potentially 5 from being 'late' as much as one can know - this could end up being long post mc cycle.. had cramps yesterday but transpired I had wind too many baked beans and cheese in jacket potato!! boobs are normal, peeing alot but drinking alot - although it is bright yellow but i think that might be the Pregnacare Conception vitamins! So all in all could be, but not holding my breath.

Oh just to add, despite my close friend and colleague at work knowing all about mcs and getting pregnant accidentally she keeps going on about how worried she is about how this will impact her life and how she and her dh have discussed options ... I told her I was genuinely happy for her and she was fine to talk about it - but I didn't mean all the time and with no consideration for how some of it might make me feel .. am sucking it up though as I know alot of it is me being sensitive and she is in a world of confusion about all the implications.

night all, hitting the hay now

clareanna · 09/02/2010 22:23

congratulations to all the BFPs - so great to hear!

We have just returned from a long weekend away without DS. Lots of SWI, but with my monster 35 day cycle its ages to wait to see if my WTF cycle is normal or not.
Seem to have put on weight and boob are bigger - but this could be down to large consumption of pasta in Italy....

Liah - agree with Cheepz - could be that things are jsut a bit delicate still, but if you're worried it might be worth speaking to the GP

Alba and Pollyanna - 3 weeks after my ERPC now and all I keep hoping for is to be pregnant as soon as poss - It has been a bit of an obsession, but we've just spent a weekend away, and much red wine was drunk, and I've started to enjoy life a bit more again. Even though I still have wobbles.... That programme on C4 tonight "one born every minute" had to be instantly switched off!

tigerbear · 09/02/2010 23:06

Clareanna - I just watched that programme - was strangely drawn to it. have now told DH that I've changed my mind about having a baby!

liahgen66 · 09/02/2010 23:41

cheepz that is seriously impressive.

thanks for responses ladies. Last time I had erpc I had none of this. Might just ask gp advice.I have a mw friend and have emailed her but no reply yet.

Just a bit wierd, and hard to know how to time cycle days, have just assumed day of erpc was day 1 and doc said go with that so have done. We'll see I guess.

I stopped looking for signs, temping, using ov sticks the monthe before I got my bfp. Haven't used anything this time either, nor will I. Amfeeling sided "pains", not painful but for want of a better word, but could easily be mixed up with everything else going on at the mo. Am about right to ov if everything else were equal this month, which I doubt.

SamanthaB123 · 10/02/2010 02:59

Hi All,

I haven't had much time for posting this month but have been lurking and keeping up with all the news...the thread is moving so fast with so many newbies it's difficult to catch up with everyone. Welcome to all who are new and congratulations to all the BFP's!

I've been terribly busy at work, hence so little time for posting but now only 3 days to half-term - phew, definatly time for a break!

There isn't much to report here. My stats are always really regular, 28 day cycle, ovulate on day 16 - even after mc. DH was due to be away with work at all the wrong times this month but actually came home earlier than we were expecting so there is a chance. That said af due today and I don't really feel anything either way. Last month I was temping and symptom spotting but I've tried to avoid it this month. That said DH bought me a proper thermometer around the middle of the month so I've been taking temp since than - I haven't been charting though. My only observation is that it has been higher than last month and hasn't dipped as early. I expect, with lack of any symptoms, to have af during the day. Of course I am awake at 2am, but I haven't heard of odd sleeping patterns as an early pregnancy symptom!

At the moment I rather think that if I don't have af today I'll probably leave testing to the weekend. DH away again and for me late period is almost the confirmation - I am just never late unless pregnant!

Is anyone else due to test? I'm posting on my phone in bed so it's difficult to scroll up! Good luck if you are...SB

Congratulations effilump for getting those Feb BFP's rolling. Hope it goes boringly well.

welcome to all the newbies, though its sad to see you here.

I seem to have been missing some mighty social times, with wine and chocolate no less. its lovely to see such camaraderie.

I was at the dentist this morning with a low level toothache and had to stop him doing an x-ray on the off chance that this could be my month. He was great about it, but I'm so sick of having to say (even to myself) I 'could' be. All the same I could be, so less self pity and more positive attitude is probably called for (be nice to get rid of the toothache though)

Goodluckbear · 10/02/2010 13:52

Hi guys,

I don't have answers to anyone's questions, I feel like a dunce!! Am wearing my dunce hat with this question too - if I actually work out when I'm ovulating, should I have sex that day (i.e. the day I think I'm ov'ing) or the day before/day after? Sure it's not a precise science, but nice to have something to aim for!!

Needless to say, despite all my griping (or inspite of all my griping) AF arrived today just fine. Am sad as - well, you ladies know why - but also glad that I can feel a bit back to normal. So that was only 4 weeks 5 days post ERPC. Hmmmm, I was very impatient there then?

I'm updating the list so I can move on from "pending" - this is my first attempt at list updating, so correct me if I've done it wrong!!

Also obsessing here... Have you tried fertilityfriend.com goodluckbear? It's free to sign up and tells you all about best times to get pg...

SamanathaB, my experience of 2 early pregnancies, sleep patterns mad from day1 with both. V hopeful for you!

Sarah, hope the suffering through the pain will all be worth it for you this month. Will some chocolate help? Still some left from my chocoholic weekend

nice to meet more of you lovely ladies

My question for your combined wisdom: I'm obsessively poas... +ve OPK but also still +ve pg test... Does the latter affect the result of the former? Either it really is time to try again already (DH away tonight ) or the sticks just won't help this month. Anyone know?

AlbaDeTamble · 10/02/2010 14:29

Sorry, goodluckbear, meant to actually answer your question... Up to 5 days before and 1 after ov covers fertile window for the month... I think best chances are 2 days before and day of...

just1moreplease · 10/02/2010 15:04

cheepz last pg i started aspirin at 6 weeks but my haematologist said to take while ttc this time so giving that a go. i will be starting heparin or celaxane from bfp too.

im actually on cd 24 not 23 as it shows on the list. so the poas started today. bfn obviously.

fr test middle of the afternoon and 6 days early? dont know what i was thinking. need to go and get some cheapo tests i think. can satisfy the urge withoutt breaking the bank.

hope everyone else is doing ok today.

xx

SarahMumtoAlex · 10/02/2010 16:57

HI Alba thanks for the choccies, best kind really with no calories

With regard to your question, I've read that OPK's can pick up HcG, so I'm figuring that sticks won't work for you this month. So with DH away that would be rather than

Sarahlou8 · 10/02/2010 17:13

Just creeping in and whispering very very VERY quietly... bfp.

I don't even know why I tested, 3 days early, but call it sixth sense, the faintest of lines came up, and 5 minutes later it's definitely still there.

Oh my God. I am so scared.

Goodluckbear · 10/02/2010 17:42

Eeeeeeeee - Sarahlou!!! OMG so exciting!!! Won't shout out congrats so's not to scare you further, but bestest bestest luck and sticky thoughts going your way.
