Hi all, old and new, this is the thread where all moaning, pieces of tmi, discussions and virtual cups of tea and biscuits come together to keep us sane .. or at the least insane together!

OP posts:
Pollyanna · 07/02/2010 15:41

alba I didn't intend to go through it naturally - it just happened before I had the erpc. I can't think of any advantage of the natural route atm.

Hope you have an ok trip out - I am a week along and find now that I have bad days and better days. Am totally at the mercy of my hormones I think.

AlbaDeTamble · 07/02/2010 15:42

So up I got full of positive thoughts and burst of energy and nearly fainted... Uh oh, maybe it'll just have to be a bit more CBeebies...

liahgen66 · 07/02/2010 17:58

polly and alba take care of yourselves, try not to overdo it.

I'm in a really bad mood, just kind of descended for no good reason.

dh has announced he's out tonight after working all weekend with his bloody brother who has been kicked out by his grilfriend. Now he needs relationship advice. Can't stand him personally, you'd never guess wuld you?

Hope everyone is feeling well. I had an odd day of bleeding yesterday but has stopped now so am gonna continue on my merry way and hope bloody period arrives on time or not at all.

Feel free to ignore my black mood. x

Hopefully · 07/02/2010 18:04

Well all those BFNs weren't lies, AF arrived this morning. was really blue when it happened, had a good cry, still feeling a bit down, but suppose it was too much to hope that it all might happen easily. I feel like I had my bit of luck conceiving DS so easily and having a trouble free pregnancy, now I'm due all the crap I avoided last time . I know there's no way we could have known, but I really wish we hadn't waited for a 2 year age gap (i.e. DS was 15 months when we started TTC) before trying again, it would have been fine to have a smaller age gap, but given how easily it happened last time I stupidly assumed it would all be as easy this time, even thought I knew intellectually that there was a chance it wouldn't be.

Am also having a really heavy, relatively painful period (mine aren't usually that bad). Assume it's still everything getting back to normal, as this is first proper period since MC.

I've changed my UCL from 27 to 28 days, as my last 2 cycles have been 28 and 29 days (excluding the one in which I was PG).

Liah Sorry you're feeling crappy hon. (barrenbrook passes Liah a glass of vino and some chocolate). Hope your cycle gets itself back to normal as quickly as possible.

Hopefully Sorry AF got you . It's so f*cking disappointing isn't it when your body teases you, even though we try so hard not to get our hopes up, once she shows up it's a bitter pill to swallow. ((((hugs))))

Dr's appointment tomorrow.... bit nervous about it really, I always feel like I'm wasting their time. DH is coming too though so hopefully we will get somewhere. Fingers crossed.

littlemiss72 · 07/02/2010 18:20

Hi Ladies, a bit of advice needed here. ERPC Friday, came home groggy slept most of Friday / Sat, felt fine Sat pm and bleeding slowed right down. Not much pain, in fact only used the tablets once so far.

Been pottering around today, no heavy lifting or bending ect. Now have period like pains feels odd, have taken painkillers but not hit the spot as yet!

Is this normal, I'm wondering if the shock has worn off and I'm starting to feel the physical effects. I was planing on going into work tomorrow however I have serious doubts now.

Sorry to harp on, just knew could turn to you lovely lot! x

liahgen66 · 07/02/2010 18:28

littlemiss I had my ERPC last Thursday very late at night, so 10 days ago now and this week I've felt completely knocked for 6.

Yesterday I had a bleed after no blood after initial first few days, quite heavy at time but stopped now.

Today I feel as if period arriving, heavy and bit draggy around my pelvic region. Legs achy too and knackered, even closed my eyes for half hour earlier on sofa.

I think it does take it out of you more than we realise, as women I do think we try and get back tonormal a bit too soon too.

Take it easy on yourself. I treated myself to some lovely blue Radox original in a box and so am looking forward to getting into a nice bath when kids in bed

thank you very much.

Unbuffy · 07/02/2010 18:40

Littlemiss - snap - think it's uterus getting back to the right place, size etc. Muscles around there are a bit wierd (very scientific, eh?) Also had similar pains after birth of dd. Three words: Hot water bottle. Bliss!! Also lots of bedrest and red wine, as I hear it's high in iron and that's definately neccessary.

Unfortunately for me, my tastebuds still think I'm pregnant so red wine still tastes like vinegar and smells like Crunchy Nut Cornflakes . So you can have my bottle, girls...

liahgen66 · 07/02/2010 18:52

buffy crunchy nut cornflakes.

randomimposter · 07/02/2010 21:08

sorry, hijack.... msg for lia.... was reading this just now, and thought of you. Even if you felt/were unable to help yourself you may be able to point OP in direction of any of your colleagues (I know Kent's quite large!)

wave to everyone else - off to bed for zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Cheepz · 07/02/2010 21:31

crikey, so much activity, and most of it not so great - sorry about that ladies, have read everything but not been on since Friday so can't do 121 references - havent made a list like tfls but suffice to say, for those recovering from erpc or recent mc, so sorry its a tough time for you and trying to figure out what your body is doing is so frustrating.

for those waiting for scans or erpc i just hope it is as painless as it can be

hopefully gahhh! I think I am likely to be int he same boat this month, although have decided its a double upside. BFP would obviously be great, but would worry about not having had one normal cycle and not having blood tests back (won't get results til next week), BFN means that I will have had one cycle and will have blood test results before trying next month.

I don't know if its because its the second one in a row that it makes it easier to deal with, but I am alot more c'est la vie this time around.

lee quick wave - might drop by grads thread to see how you are all doing

mrr good of you to let us know - we were wondering!

gazebo late is late ... watching your progress with bated breath, we need to start the feb BFPs going

I have neither pmt or pregnancy symptoms so not sure whats going to happen, but am last of the late testers so won't be testing til af due which will be 30 / 31 days this cycle since CBFM gave peak on CD 16 / 17.

quick TMI warning, wondered if anyone knows anything about whether if you touch your cervix it can cause an mc? only because I am tempted to see if it is hi or low, but I did that last month after BFN when I was sure I was pregnant and it was really high, but then bleeding started about 4 hours later, then in the morning did the sensitive test an got BFP (too late!) Am tempted to see how high the cervix is to avoid getting hopes up but am worried it was the equivalent of giving myself a sweep which might have caused mc .... which would obviously be a good thing to know so I don't do it again. Too embarassed to ask a medical professional!

AlbaDeTamble · 08/02/2010 11:22

Hi cheepz am not medically qualified so don't really have a clue , but I guess since sex is not supposed to cause miscarriage, I can't see how what you're suggesting would either?? Finding out where your cervix is is nowhere near equiv to sweep (been there, and it's not just a light touch I can assure you! ).

I'm sure there was nothing you could have done to prevent your mc, so don't go down that 'if only I hadn't' road... So easy to say, so hard not to keep thinking it...

Hopefully · 08/02/2010 12:13

SIL recently had a sweep and described it as a good minute or two of painful rooting around (sorry!) by the MW, so I also can't imagine that a gentle proving could do any damage at all. Also, if it worked to open the cervix, heavily pregnant women would be doing it all the time!

Not feeling too bad today, was really quite sad yesterday, even though I knew that there was a good chance I wouldn't be PG this month. Have realised that there's still at least one cycle left before I'll be having a 2011 second baby instead of a 2010 one (which will make me very blue). Fingers crossed for a sticky BFP this month!

littlemiss72 · 08/02/2010 13:10

Hi all, stayed home under strict instruction from DP.

The pain seems to have calmed down which is good news, returning to work is much harder than I thought! I'll see how I feel tomorrow, taking each day as it comes.

at 2011 baby! Don't lose heart Hopefully our time will come x

VivClicquot · 08/02/2010 14:55

Hiya everyone xx

Gosh - sounds like we've all had a bit of a blue weekend.

Hi to Alba and also to everyone else who is recovering from ERPCs and MCs. Make sure you get plenty of rest, girls and just take it easy.

And a big 'alright darlin'' to mrsgazebo - hang on in there, lovely. Late is late, as Cheepz says.

cheepz - I echo what Alba says. I'm no doctor but I'm pretty sure there is no way that touching your cervix caused your mc, so please don't beat yourself up about it. I'm now going to say one of those phrases that would probably make me want to punch a friend who dared say it, but it's nothing that you did or didn't do - it's just one of those things honey.

I am also at the thought of a 2011 baby - so many 'what ifs' mean 2010 should have been my year. Still, have got this month and next month to try and squeeze one in.

As for me, my BFFN resulted in the lightest of light and the shortest of short periods. No complaints about that, obv, but I do wonder whether my cycle will reflect it and go back to a lovely 27 day thang this month. Here's hoping...

Anyway, love, chocolate and fizz to all (except our mums-to-be, who can have some appletize or something... )

xxx

noshouting · 08/02/2010 15:03

Hi all I have just had a complete miscarraige at 9 weeks, started on Friday and confirmed today at early pregnancy unit.
This would have been baby number 5 and I was really looking forward to doing it all again this year. I feel I need to rearrange my whole year again from scratch if that makes any sense.
It looks as if the pregnancy never developed properly which actually has made today easier I think, as I didn't have the pain of seeing a wee bub with no heartbeet on the screen.
I am 40 in May this year so really feel I want to get on and try again asap.
So hello and am looking forward to meeting you all x

Effilump · 08/02/2010 15:03

Fingers crossed!

Effilump · 08/02/2010 15:05

Sorry for your bad news noshouting

noshouting · 08/02/2010 15:05

Forgot to say could someone please add me to the list as I have no clue how to do that.
I guess today is CD1 ttc no 5, have 4 DSs, thanks.

noshouting · 08/02/2010 15:08

Thanks effilump, I just saw your BFP congratulations, I don't know your story as have not read back through the thread, but at the early pregnancy unit today the midwife was very encouraging about future success following a miscarraige so good luck

VivClicquot · 08/02/2010 15:45

SCREAM effilump that's brilliant news - hurrah for our first February BFP

And hello noshouting - sorry you've found us here, but hope we can all help in some way. Have added you to the list but don't know your usual cycle length... x
