Hi all, old and new, this is the thread where all moaning, pieces of tmi, discussions and virtual cups of tea and biscuits come together to keep us sane .. or at the least insane together!

OP posts:
boodleboot · 23/01/2010 20:26

TFLS that is AWESOME news.....keeping everything crossed {inc legs...}

tigger15 · 23/01/2010 23:51

Congrats TFLS and Louise. I really hope they stick.

Mrs R I'm feeling like I've been here for far too long with no action at all. Barrenbrook appears to be MIA atm here's hoping...

Lee I had really bad cramps up till 7 weeks when pg with ds. They send me for a scan and I saw a lovely beating bean. It was incredible. Just take it easy and try to relax.

Morning!

No OV yet, as far as I can tell (purely on the basis of no EWCM). Usually do so on about day 13-14. Will be disappointed if I OV really late or not at all - have been SWIing loads in the hope of making the most of rumoured post MC fertility!

MrsRigby · 24/01/2010 08:56

Friend txt me an hour ago to tell me that she'd given birth 2 weeks early to a brother for their other son .

Sister-in-law is next, due early March.

I should have been 5 months by now.

DH's got his hopes up that I'm pregnant, but I know I'm not, so sad. So much for sodding post miscarriage fertility.

This all means that part of my day today will be buying a new baby boy card and present.

I mean for gods sake I've had sex every other day since I finished miscarring in November. I've spent god knows how much on sodding sticks to pee on. The ovulation test and tempratures all show I actually ovulated on 14th January. I had sex 2 days before ovulation, the day of ovulation and the day after ovulation.

What more do I need to do?

liahgen66 · 24/01/2010 09:50

Hi everyone

MrsR "nice", (or not) to see you

Am wondering if I can join please. Just found out my 10 wk + bean didn't make it and have to go in for erpc tomorrow. I just want it over with now. My 1st thoughts were, I'm not doing it again but I know I need to keep trying, that's 2 in succession now, (4 altogether) and it took 15 mths to get to that point. Am so sad and angry, why doesn't my body tell me someting is wrong instead of letting me still believe.?

Symptoms only just starting to fade now, but I think some of that is cos i'm ignoring the hunger cos i know it's jusy mother nature being unbelievably cruel.

We will be startingagain as soon as i finish bleeding so am happy to sit on the WTTC list for now if someone wouldn't mind adding me please.

am starting to feel very despondent now, I'm 43 and time is not on our side. However doc said when it's over come and see me and we'll make a plan so i do have that to look forward to.

congratulations to all the BFP's and good luck to those waiting.

LeeWT · 24/01/2010 11:01

liahgen I'm sorry this happened to you honey.. Do I recognise your name from another thread or did you used to be on this one? Either way welcome! We'll be thinking of you tomorrow..

tfls now can I say it?!?!?!?! Congrats!!!! Wow you me and Louise in 2 days so we really can be in it together!

hopefully I've never assessed cm so I know nothing about it but as you know I get cramps when I
ov and I ov'd late on cd23 so keep SWI!!

tigger thanks for the reassurance the cramps were quite persistant but the general advice seems to be if there's no bleeding then it's ok but both my mcs were mmc's so maybe that's why I don't trust it..

mrsr honey my heart breaks for you when I read your posts because you seem so down. I do know how it feels and even now I've had a bfp I still feel like it will all go wrong. The way I dealt with the last few months was to always have something to look forward to even if it was a cheap dinner with the girls, going home for a weekend or when funds allowed, a night in a hotel with dh. If everything is based around ttc, then when you don't conceive that month then you'll crash and burn .. Hope u r ok AND remember you are NOT out of the race yet!!

Hope I remembered everyone, posting from my phone so hard to scroll back..

Happy Sunday everyone x

Again MRSR can totally empathise .....After my first MC i used to have ste dates in my mind of how far i would have been etc.....With the next 2 losses i didn t even bother got past the point of caring....[its a protection stragety]
Take care XX

louisesh · 24/01/2010 11:11

Hi LEE crossed posts!!!!!! Hope youre ok?

I totally agree with you as ALWAYS having something to look foreward to.We try and go on a break or weekend away every couple of months soo we ve always got something to look foreward to its the only thing that makes it all worthwhile otherwise we re working just to pay our mortgage[we ve no other dc].

Obviously a lot depends on cash though!!!! We re suppose to booking our cruise in 2 weeks time to go in Sept still expecting to go ahead as will have to wait and see what happens..........

barrenbrook · 24/01/2010 11:21

Oh hello, I'm so sorry, forgive my rudeness from not being around, I'm not ignoring you, I'm still here, been lurking in the background. I've become very disheartened by TTC so have kept clear with all my depressiveness. Am suitably distracted by the fact that we have a puppy (that incidentally is howling his head off as I've just shut him in his crate) he is quite a good child deterrent I can tell you!

Good news all round by the sounds of things! LeeWT, TFLS, Boodle & Louisesh pleased as punch for you all (quietly confident for all of you aswell)

Am currently CD13 on what feels like TTC for forever (realistically it's been more like 15 months). Keep meaning to book a Dr's appointment but never seem to remember to call when they're open!

Hope you are all well? I must run as the in laws are due any minute. No doubt I will be given the third degree about when we will be producing grandchildren as usual!

liahgen66 · 24/01/2010 11:23

Hi lee and louise yes we've been on a few TTc threads together, sadly, i recognise a few names and on the gentle thread too. Some awful experineces on there.

I know Mc is very common and they reckon MMc is less common but so many of us have had more than one or even 2 so not so uncommon after all. I do think i should have had my share now, (as so many of us on these threads have).

I do have 5 beautiful children so i can take comfort from that.I am already blessed. I've been here before so I know we'll be ok and get through this.

thanks for the welcome, will be back onwards and upwards as they say.

CakeandFineWine · 24/01/2010 11:57

Hello ladies,
Just popping in to say hi [waves]
I'm still lurking!!

Wow glad to see more Grads on the list too,I've been bumped up higher!
Got my early scan tomorrow so got everything (esp my legs) crossed!!

Good luck everyone, wishing you all sticky beans soon xx

Cheepz · 24/01/2010 19:18

evening ladies

cycle seems to be getting back to normal quickly as CBFM told me I am now high as oppose to low in terms of chances of getting pregnant, so will be interesting to see if I get a peak, and if so whether it is earlier or later, earlier would indicate very little disruption to cycle at all

liagen66 welcome, and wow! seeing my brother with 4 is bedlam so lord knows what its like in your household!

mrsr sorry you are not feeling up to much, thinking of you

hopefully plan to do some SW a little bit of I myself over the next few days, one or two just to test the water, then DH and I will decide whether to go for it and do Peak or leave it and wait until 1st cycle post normal AF at end of mc cycle. Still in two minds

Lee hope you're feeling ok

cake good luck bubs, am sure it will all be fine

barrenb there you are!! sorry to hear you sounding bummed, I know what you mean though, I actually felt better last cycle about having another mc than I would have if AF arrived... at least it shows something is happeneing and feels like we are progressing. 15 months is an awfully long time to wait..

got to try and get DS to bed at a sensible time tonight, he is cranky and overtired!

xxx to all

MrsRigby · 24/01/2010 20:18

Evening

Apparentely, she gave birth in hospital at 3.30am this morning to a boy, 2 weeks early, weighing 8lbs something. She was discharged at 1pm and they're all tired - but, THEY STILL HAVEN'T TOLD US THE BABY'S NAME .

I'm just going to send the card and present regardless.

liahgen66 nice to see you too, I think! Good on you having 5 children and wanting more. I've always wanted a big family myself, but unfortunately, it looks like thats no longer going to be possible .

Good to see you back barrenbrook, if only so I can be top of the list for a little bit . And don't talk to me about in-laws [bbiscuit]

Posting from your phone leewt - how? Everytime I try looking at the internet on my BlackBerry, it stresses me out and I feel compelled to through the bastard halfway across the room (or as was last weeks little effort, halfway down a bus). And don't even talk about SatNav. DH asked me to set the SatNav on his phone and, well, we ended up having yet another argument and not speaking for about 40 minutes.

Your going to laugh now, but I'm really good with technology.

Fucking Fertility Friend seems to think I have a 60% chance of being pregnant . And DH has got his hopes up. And then there's mother nature who's decided to pick on me:

  • breasts that feel occasionally tingly/throbbing/bruised;
  • occasional sharp pinching pain in central lower abdomen;
  • warm, period pain like discomfort in lower abdomen;
  • feeling bloated;
  • a bit wet down there all the time;
  • blue veins on the breasts and little spots/bumps on the brown part, which sometimes looks like it's gettin darker;
  • a bit spotty.

I know I'm not pregnant, but she's trying sodding hard to make me think I am. Arrghhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

I'll do another test on Wednesday - 13 days past ovulation, even though I already know what the answer is.

liahgen66 · 24/01/2010 20:26

Well I for one am keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you MrsR

MrsRigby · 24/01/2010 20:31

Thanks liahgen66.

MrsRigby · 24/01/2010 20:39

She just txt me back, they have called him Elliot [bbiscuit]

Hopefully · 24/01/2010 21:10

Is the burns biscuit not working? [bbiscuit]

Anyway. Am also crossing fingers for you MrsR. Really hope it's good news for you next week.

Cheepz glad your cycle is being sensible. Good luck with whichever you decide. Is there a reason you're thinking of having a cycle off, apart from giving your body a chance to recover? Just being nosy, feel free to ignore.

Lee I really hope I don't OV on CD23, I'm not sure how many more days I can enthusiastically SWI for! [poor DP has a crap girlfriend emoticon]

Cheepz · 24/01/2010 23:25

Hi hopefully no problem for asking!!! the doctor advised that I wait until after normal AF to make sure no residual tissue, but I know they always advise that - its more for my own peace of mind that my body is completely back to normal,and also that emotionally I am in the right place - it definitely took two cycles last summer to get strong after the first mc, and although I feel much more emotionally stable this time around, I want to make sure I have had a chance to deal with the initial emotional response.

Hard to explain, though I am sure you ladies will understand, last mc I just wanted to be pregnant again right away to stop the hurt, but I wasn't actually in a good place emotionally to get pregnant. I think this time it is different, partly because I didn't know I was pregnant for sure before I had the mc, and partly because I have a different perspective about getting pregnant now, whereas before I just expected it would all be fine, now I expect that it won't so it is less of a blow, shock, surprise...

But I am feeling like if I got pregnant this month (big if) it wouldn't be to fill a hole of hurt about this mc, as I just didn't go through so much this time.

sorry for lengthy ramble!

Hopefully · 25/01/2010 09:22

Cheepz thanks for explaining. I guess it is very different this time, but nice that you're relatively relaxed about things either way. Suppose you can just wait and see how you feel.

I am trying to jolly DP out of feeling poorly so we can continue with alternate night SWI. I think the poor man is beginning to feel a little used...

Morning everyone

Wow congratulations Louise - that's fab fab news. We really are motoring this month, aren't we?!

MrsR - hang on in there. You said yourself it was too early to test, so step away from the First Response and wait until later this week. You never know what might happen...

Liah and WestYorkshireGirl - welcome both. Sorry you have to be here, but am glad that you found us.

Hi everyone else - hope you all had good weekends!

xx

Goodluckbear · 25/01/2010 09:55

So much to catch up on - go away for one little spa break, and all sorts happens...

Hi WestYorks, glad you came here too, we were both on the miscarriage threads a couple of weeks ago. I love this thread - all the ups and downs included - everyone's really supportive.

Louisesh - I'm from Wakefield originally too!! Living in London at the moment, but my family's all still there.

Anyway, just wanted to say to happy Monday morning to everyone....MrsR, big hugs, think you deserve a spa break way more than me...for any of you guys looking for a weekend away (whether for SWI or for recouperation) have a look at this - good deal on dinner, bed & breakfast, and most of the hotels have nice spas too:
